Book Review: Simon vs the homo sapiens agenda Becky albertalli

Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda (Simonverse, #1)Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

May 8-14
Summary – Sixteen-year-old and not-so-openly gay Simon Spier prefers to save his drama for the school musical. But when an email falls into the wrong hands, his secret is at risk of being thrust into the spotlight. Now Simon is actually being blackmailed: if he doesn’t play wingman for class clown Martin, his sexual identity will become everyone’s business. Worse, the privacy of Blue, the pen name of the boy he’s been emailing, will be compromised.

With some messy dynamics emerging in his once tight-knit group of friends, and his email correspondence with Blue growing more flirtatious every day, Simon’s junior year has suddenly gotten all kinds of complicated. Now, change-averse Simon has to find a way to step out of his comfort zone before he’s pushed out—without alienating his friends, compromising himself, or fumbling a shot at happiness with the most confusing, adorable guy he’s never met.

Review- OH MY GOD THIS BOOK WAS AMAZING . This book is about Simon he is gay but not out he started talking to this boy name Blue he met on Tumblr he goes to Simon’s school but he doesn’t know who Blue is .Simon get’s blackmailed by Martin who reads Simon’s emails from Blue this guy is a jerk I mean who does something like that and he said he wants Simon to set him up with Abby one of Simon’s best friends or Martin is going to out him what a freaking jerk but he has to do it . Some of my favorite parts were the emails between Blue and Simon they were so cute .Simon wants to meet Blue but Blue isn’t ready yet . Simon isn’t out yet and he wants to tell people but he’s not ready Simon tells Abby first I think he told Abby first because she’s a new friend Where Nick and Leah he’s known forever . I Really thought I knew who Blue was going to be but I totally got it wrong Blue tells Simon that he knows who he might think he is . So Simon finally tells his family he is gay but Martin the freaking Jackass totally outs him on creak secrets what an ass I couldn’t stand his guy just cause Abby rejected him and then Martin tries to apologize to him but simon yells at him no you don’t get apologize being gay is my thing you took it from me I thought it was amazing Simon did that it was so heartbreaking . Simon gets a t-shirt on his locker from Blue and then Simon , Abby, and Nick go out to a gay bar and Simon flirts with this college guy oh my god drunk Simon is so funny . So Simon notices in the t-shirt Blue gave him that his number is in it so he emails Blue and tells him to go to the carnival I was so sure he wasn’t going show but he does he sits right next to him and it’s Bram this soccer guy that Simon always says is cute I was so happy that it was him they are so cute together they go to the grocery store and eat oreos and milk so adorable and then there officially dating they are so cute I love them together this book made me so happy I want to get my own copy soon .
Quotes-
And then I kiss him for real, and he kisses me back, and his hands fist my hair. And we’re kissing like it’s breathing. My stomach flutters wildly. And somehow we end up horizontal, his hands curved up around my back.

“I like this,” I say, and my voice comes out breathless. “We should do this. Every day.”
“Okay.”
“Let’s never do anything else. No school. No meals. No homework.”
“I was going to ask you to see a movie,” he says, smiling. When he smiles, I smile.
“No movies. I hate movies.”
“Oh, really?”
“Really, really. Why would I want to watch other people kissing,” I say, “when I could be kissing you?”

The way I feel about him is like a heartbeat — soft and persistent, underlying everything.”

“White shouldn’t be the default any more than straight should be the default. There shouldn’t even be a default.”

Book Review: this girl Colleen Hoover

This Girl (Slammed, #3)This Girl by Colleen Hoover
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This Girl by Colleen Hoover
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

February 25- May 5
There are two sides to every love story. Now hear Will’s.

Colleen Hoover’s New York Times bestselling Slammed series has brought countless readers to their knees with a whirlwind of love, passion, and heartache.

Layken and Will’s love has managed to withstand the toughest of circumstances and the young lovers, now married, are beginning to feel safe and secure in their union. As much as Layken relishes their new life together, she finds herself wanting to know everything there is to know about her husband, even though Will makes it clear he prefers to keep the painful memories of the past where they belong. Still, he can’t resist his wife’s pleas and so he begins to untangle his side of the story, revealing for the first time his most intimate feelings and thoughts, retelling both the good and bad moments, and sharing a few shocking confessions of his own from the time when they first met.

In This Girl, Will tells the story of their complicated relationship from his point of view. Their future rests on how well they deal with the past in this final installment of the beloved Slammed series.

THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS !

Review- I think this may be my second favorite of the series I loved this one so much hearing from Will’s POV from slammed .While their on there honeymoon was so cute there were some sad points though like when his ex girlfriend dumped him she was a bitch in point of retreat and she was in this girl . I loved seeing him see lake for the first time from his POV it was so sweet I loved him even more in this book especially the ending when they were in the car and listening to the Avett brothers who I now love and will is like it better not be Nicklback I was laughing . And when they went to the slam I loved the “Really long poem ” it was very good and when he kept the chocolate milk on the rocks it was so sweet .And we also find out that Gavin knew all along I think I love Gavin way more now cause he had to put up with Will though all of this . And the kiss awww so sweet and then it goes down hill down from there when he find out he’s her teacher. It was so bad and even hearing again was bad I read this one with audiobook and it made it even better I liked hearing from the honeymoon way better sometimes. Like when they agreed never to carve pumpkins with each other good .And the scene in the pool oh my god I really loved seeing what hell will was going though that it wasn’t easy for him and him finding out Julia has cancer I was crying more and when he preformed “This Girl ” one of my favorite poems he has done I mean other than the one about the Lake oh my god. When he confesses his feeling and she’s ‘kissing’ Javi and he wanted to kill him oh I wanted to also oh god and the moment of weakness come on will I know he wants to give her time when he was judging at the slam and she came up oh my freaking god he was like she loves me she loves me . I think the most awkward scene was the scene when Julia caught them together oh god but everything about this book was amazing. when they go home and celebrate with everyone and kirsten tells the boys about sex I’m laughing. And oh Eddie and Gavin are engaged so sweet the epilogue Lake is having her daughter and they name her Julia Kel gives will a letter from Julia it was so sweet it made me cry and Will does his final piece such a great series I loved everything about this series the characters the poems and the romance .

Quotes-
my final piece
We’re born into the world
As just one small piece to the puzzle
That makes up an entire life.
It’s up to us throughout our years,
to find all of our pieces that fit.
The pieces that connect who we are
To who we were
To who we’ll one day be.
Sometimes pieces will almost fit.
They’ll feel right.
We’ll carry them around for a while,
Hoping they’ll change shape.
Hoping they’ll conform to our puzzle.
But they won’t.
We’ll eventually have to let them go.
To find the puzzle that is their home.
Sometimes pieces won’t fit at all.
No matter how much we want them to.
We’ll shove them.
We’ll bend them.
We’ll break them.
But what isn’t meant to be,
won’t be.
Those are the hardest pieces of all to
accept.
The pieces of our puzzle
That just don’t belong.
But occasionally . . .
Not very often at all,
If we’re lucky,
If we pay enough attention,
We’ll find a
perfect match.
The pieces of the puzzle that slide right in
The pieces that hug the contours of our own
pieces.
The pieces that lock to us.
The pieces that we lock to.
The pieces that fit so well, we can’t tell
where our piece begins
And that piece ends.
Those pieces we call
Friends.
True loves.
Dreams.
Passions.
Beliefs.
Talents.
They’re all the pieces that complete our
puzzles.
They line the edges,
Frame the corners,
Fill the centers,
Those pieces are the pieces that make us
who we are.
Who we were.
Who we’ll one day be.
Up until today,
When I looked at my own puzzle,
I would see a finished piece.
I had the edges lined,
The corners framed,
The center filled.
It felt like it was complete.
All the pieces were there.
I had everything I wanted.
Everything I needed.
Everything I dreamt of.
But up until today,
I realized I had collected all
but one piece.
The most vital piece.
The piece that completes the picture.
The piece that completes my whole life.
I held this girl in my arms
She wrapped her tiny fingers around mine.
It was then that I realized
She was the fusion.
The glue.
The cement that bound all my pieces
together.
The piece that seals my puzzle.
The piece that completes my life.
The element that makes me who I am.
Who I was.
Who I’ll one day be.
You, baby girl.
You’re my final piece.”

“I wish I could explain how I feel, but nothing can explain this moment. Not a vase of stars. Not a book. Not a song. Not even a poem. Nothing can explain the moment when the woman you would give your life for sees her daughter for the very first time.”

“It’s not your bra. It’s our bra and I want it off.” I slip it off her, pulling her against me as I rub my hands down the length of her back, then around to the button on the front of her jeans. “And I want to take off our pants.”

She grins against my lips and slowly nods. “Okay, but hurry,” she whispers.

“I can be quick,” I assure her. “But I’ll never hurry.”

This poem is very long
So long, in fact, that your attention span
May be stretched to its very limits
But that’s okay
It’s what’s so special about poetry
See, poetry takes time
We live in a time
Call it our culture or society
It doesn’t matter to me cause neither one rhymes
A time where most people don’t want to listen
Our throats wait like matchsticks waiting to catch fire
Waiting until we can speak
No patience to listen

But this poem is long
It’s so long, in fact, that during the time of this poem
You could’ve done any number of other wonderful things
You could’ve called your father
Call your father
You could be writing a postcard right now
Write a postcard
When was the last time you wrote a postcard?
You could be outside
You’re probably not too far away from a sunrise or a sunset
Watch the sun rise
Maybe you could’ve written your own poem
A better poem
You could have played a tune or sung a song
You could have met your neighbor
And memorized their name
Memorize the name of your neighbor
You could’ve drawn a picture
(Or, at least, colored one in)
You could’ve started a book
Or finished a prayer
You could’ve talked to God
Pray
When was the last time you prayed?
Really prayed?

This is a long poem
So long, in fact, that you’ve already spent a minute with it
When was the last time you hugged a friend for a minute?
Or told them that you love them?
Tell your friends you love them

…no, I mean it, tell them

Say, I love you

Say, you make life worth living
Because that, is what friends do
Of all of the wonderful things that you could’ve done
During this very, very long poem
You could have connected
Maybe you are connecting
Maybe we’re connecting
See, I believe that the only things that really matter
In the grand scheme of life are God and people
And if people are made in the image of God
Then when you spend your time with people
It’s never wasted
And in this very long poem
I’m trying to let a poem do what a poem does:
Make things simpler
We don’t need poems to make things more complicated
We have each other for that
We need poems to remind ourselves of the things that really matter
To take time
A long time
To be alive for the sake of someone else for a single moment
Or for many moments

Cause we need each other

To hold the hands of a broken person
All you have to do is meet a person
Shake their hand
Look in their eyes

They are you

We are all broken together
But these shattered pieces of our existence don’t have to be a mess
We just have to care enough to hold our tongues sometimes
To sit and listen to a very long poem
A story of a life
The joy of a friend and the grief of friend
To hold and be held
And be quiet

So, pray
Write a postcard
Call your parents and forgive them and then thank them
Turn off the TV
Create art as best as you can
Share as much as possible, especially money
Tell someone about a very long poem you once heard
And how afterward it brought you to them”

Oh my God!” Julia yells. “Are you kidding me, Will? Don’t help her put her clothes back on! I’m standing right here!”

What the hell am I thinking?”

This girl. This baby girl is my life. Her mother is my life. These girls are both my life.

Book Review: pandemonium lauren Oliver

Pandemonium (Delirium, #2)Pandemonium by Lauren Oliver
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Read from March 19- April 19
The old life is dead.

But the old Lena is dead too.

I buried her.

I left her beyond a fence, behind a wall of smoke and flame.

In this electrifying follow-up to her acclaimed New York Times bestseller Delirium, Lauren Oliver sets Lena on a dangerous course that hurtles through the unregulated Wilds and into the heart of a growing resistance movement. This riveting, brilliant novel crackles with the fire of fierce defiance, forbidden romance, and the sparks of a revolution about to ignite.

Review – Oh my god So I loved Delirium I read it last summer and loved the premise of it I did have a hard time to the start it was a little slow but then it got very good so I did enjoy that it was told in then and now for Lena so when we first see Lena she is running and then we meet raven and invalid who saves Lena . Lena was going though allot losing Alex knowing her entire life was a lie . there were some characters I’m still not sure about Raven she thinks one way which isn’t always right . Tack I don’t really know anything really about him. Lena is going through the motions in the wilds and now she’s in New York posing as a cured girl and she meets Julian fineman the son of Thomas fineman who is the head of the DFA when Lena is going to the big meeting for the DFA the scavengers attack scavengers aren’t like invalids they are bad and crazy. She gets taken by the scavengers and put with Julian I wasn’t sure about Julian but I grew to like him him and Lena started to connect and Julian tells Lena about his brother who was against his father and died because of his father lets just put it this way Julian’s father is freaking evil . All the cured are the people in the wilds call them zombies and that is very true so Julian and Lena are stuck in this kind of like a prison Julian gets attacked by the scavengers Lena tells him the truth and I was like Lena you really don’t know this guy how do you know he won’t do something but Julian and Lena escape they fight of scavengers they meet people who help them out and Lena finds them a spot for them to hide out until they are attacked . And Julian is taken and so is Lena then raven shows up she set up the kidnapping what the hell raven and Julian is going to be executed WTF I really started to like them together so Lena goes to save him without anyone which I thought was stupid. And then we find out Lena mom was the woman who took her oh my god so Lena gets to the hospitable and then shots are fired Raven . They get Julian out and the ending which I kind of saw coming Alex is alive I just want to say this book was awesome I am so looking forward to know what happens in the last book and how is Alex alive ? .
Quotes-
I have had to give up so much , so many selves and lives already . I have grown up and out of the rubble of my old lives , of the things and people I have cared for : My mom Grace . Hana . Alex .
and now Julian .
This is not who I wanted to be .
page 326

But…books are so much more. Some of them are webs; you can feel your way along their threads, but just barely, into strange and dark corners. Some of them are balloons bobbing up through the sky: totally self-contained, and unreachable, but beautiful to watch.
And some of them―the best ones―are doors.”

“Old words; words that nearly brought me to my knees.

Live free or die

Grief is like sinking, like being buried. I am in water tawny color of kicked up dirt Every breath is full of choking. there is nothing to hold on to, no sides, no way to claw myself up. there is nothing left to do but let go.

Summary-
Sydney Sage is an Alchemist, one of a group of humans who dabble in magic and serve to bridge the worlds of humans and vampires. They protect vampire secrets – and human lives.

In The Indigo Spell, Sydney was torn between the Alchemist way of life and what her heart and gut were telling her to do. And in one breathtaking moment that Richelle Mead fans will never forget, she made a decision that shocked even her. . . .

But the struggle isn’t over for Sydney. As she navigates the aftermath of her life-changing decision, she still finds herself pulled in too many directions at once. Her sister Zoe has arrived, and while Sydney longs to grow closer to her, there’s still so much she must keep secret. Working with Marcus has changed the way she views the Alchemists, and Sydney must tread a careful path as she harnesses her profound magical ability to undermine the way of life she was raised to defend. Consumed by passion and vengeance, Sydney struggles to keep her secret life under wraps as the threat of exposure — and re-education — looms larger than ever.

Pulses will race throughout this smoldering fourth installment in the New York Times bestselling Bloodlines series, where no secret is safe.

THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS !

February 1- March 2

Review-
I loved this book so this book is told in both Sydney and Adrian’s point of view and I loved it that way but I was also afraid something big was going to happen and well it does I think this one is my favorite of them probably cause of the relationship with Sydney and Adrian . So Sydney’s sister Zoe is mostly like her father and I hate her there parents are getting a divorce wow shock there her father is trying to get a case against the mother saying she cheated on him what a jerk only because she wants Zoe to have a normal childhood . Sydney and Adrian have these love phones I was so afraid that something was going to happen with these phones at any minute and when they had the dinner with the father zoe just kept going on and on about well Sydney is always doing them favors I’m like Zoe shut up . Adrian had to go a visit this vampire that just got turned back from being strigoi adrian got her blood out cause they want to make sure no one gets to be a strigoi that way . Adrian and Sydney both go up to court with Neil Sydney almost get’s attacked by these asshole guys who want to dabble her which is mostly blood rape Adrian comes and saves her and beats one over the head with a tree branch cause of the whole spirit thing he’s cut out from spirit. They also tested this whole anti- striogi tattoo on Neil lets hope it works . when there car crashes and there close to freezing Sydney uses her magic for a fire they end up staying at a bed and breakfast and Sydney and Adrian finally have sex they end up being stuck there for three days I just wanted them both to be happy and rid of the evil alchemist. So they have to try this tatoo on someone and Sydney asks trey he wants to get back to Angeline anyway so Mrs. T boyfriend Wolf you know the guy with the dogs and helped Sydney and Adrian with self defense he’s the guy doing the tattoo he also has one eye which freaks out Trey . When they do it the second time Sydney has to do it and she sees if trey can be mind controlled and he can’t I just don’t understand why she didn’t do it to herself . So Neil wants to go hunt down these strigoi with Sydney you know cause she can use fire and I was just hoping this would work so they take Eddie . And the strigoi is older than they thought and then the guy bit Neil but he said he tasted bad so it does work and then Angeline and trey are there and Jill is also there the strigoi is dead and Eddie is yelling at Jill and then she kisses him awww . So I knew something bad was going to happen but when Adrian was waiting with Marcus and he also lost the Love phone I was like oh no something is going down and it did the alchemist took her and Adrian can’t get to her cause there is is block I can’t wait to know what happens in silver shadows .

Favorite Quotes-

Relax, having kids is years away. But can you imagine? Your brains, my charm, our collective good looks… then add in the usual physical abilities dhampirs get.

It’s really not even fair to everyone else.”

Rowena Clark and I had met on the first day of our mixed media class. I’d sat down at her table and said, “Mind if I join you? Figure the best way to learn about art is to sit with a masterpiece.” Maybe I was in love, but I was still Adrian Ivashkov.

Rowena had fixed me with a flat look. “Let’s get one thing straight. I can see through crap a mile away, and I like girls, not guys, so if you can’t handle me telling you what’s what, then you’d better take your one-liners and hair gel somewhere else. I don’t go to this school to put up with pretty boys like you. I’m here to face dubious employment options with a painting degree and then go get a Guinness after class.”

I’d scooted my chair closer to the table. “You and I are going to get along just fine.”

What’s up?” Christian asked. “Need some hairstyling tips?”
“Tips you stole from me? No thanks. But I hear you’ve got a really good bacon meatloaf recipe.”
It was worth it then and there to see his complete and total surprise.
“Since when do you cook?” he finally managed to stammer.
“Oh, you know. I’m a Renaissance man. I do it all. Send it if you’ve got it, and I’ll give it a try. I’ll let you know if I make any improvements.”
His smirk returned. “Are you trying to impress a girl?”
“With cooking?” I pointed at my face. “This is all it takes, Ozera.”

Then why are you crying?”
“Because of you!” I beat my fists on his chest. “Because I love you, and I don’t know what to do! I can solve almost any problem, but I can’t solve this. I don’t know how to deal with that. And I’m afraid! Afraid for you! Do you know what it’d do to me if something happens to you?” I stopped hitting him and clasped my hands over my own chest, as though there was a danger my heart might fall out. “This! This would break. Shatter. Crumble. Crumble until it was dust.” I dropped my hands. “Blown away on the wind until there was nothing left.”

Review – Let me start out by saying this book was amazing the writing was poetic I loved this book . So I went in knowing this book was going to shock me and oh it did .

Cadence Joghney johnny Miren and gat are the liars . Every summer they spend it at st.clair home they have fun they spend together. candence falls in love with gat but something happends something big at summer 15 that no one will tell cadence . And she’s trying to figure it out what happened that summer when she comes back for summer 17 the st. claire house has been redone the gradfather is loosing this brain and cadence has these migrains that hurt her head and sometimes she wants to die they hurt so bad . Now I didn’t guess what the big thing was I thought someone hurt her or something but memories start coming back to her . The aunts fight over things in the house cadence gives away allot of her stuff. She wants to start over. Some things I didn’t like I really didn’t like most of this family execpt for the liars . The grandfather was power hungry and trying to control everything he was a jerk to gat cause he was another color ,what the heck and cadence’s mother was trying to keep gat and cadence away from each other . the grandfather even threatened his daughter carrie that if he married ed she would be cut off that’s kind of sick . when they decide to do this big thing to set fire to the place to keep people in the family from fighting I thought it was kind of nuts . In the end the dogs died in the fire I cried at that they started . It was bad and then cadence is crying and then she remembers the big thing THEY DIED all execpt from her . Now were they ghost or hallucinations not really sure but I was shocked but they were there for her when she needed them most I cried at the end this book was amazing .

Annabeth glared at me like she was going to punch me . and then she did something that surprised me even more . she kissed me . be careful seaweed brain . she put on her hat and vanished . I probably would’ve sat there for the rest of the day , staring at the lava and trying to remember what my name was , but the sea demons jarred me back to life . page 203

Rachel: You’re a half-blood, too?

Annabeth: Shhh! Just announce it to the world, how about?

Rachel: Okay. Hey, everybody! These two aren’t human! They’re half Greek god!…They don’t seem to care.”

My mother made a squeaking sound that might of been either “yes” or “help”.

Poseidon took it as a yes and came in.

Paul was looking back and forth between us, trying to read our expressions.

Finally he stepped forward.

“Hi, I’m Paul Blofis.”

Poseidon raised an eyebrow and then shook his hand.

“Blowfish, did you say?”

“Ah, no. Blofis, actually.”

“Oh, I see,” Poseidon said. “A shame. I quite like blowfish. I am Poseidon.”

“Poseidon? That’s an interesting name.”

“Yes, I like it. I’ve gone by other names, but I do prefer Poseidon.”

“Like the god of the sea.”

“Very much like that, yes”

“Well!” My mother interrupted. “Um, were so glad you could drop by. Paul, this is Percy’s father.”

“Ah.” Paul nodded, though he didn’t look real pleased. “I see.”

Poseidon smiled at me. “There you are, my boy. And Tyson, hello, son!”

“Daddy!” Tyson [shouted]…

Paul’s jaw dropped. He stared at my mother. “Tyson is…”

Not mine,” she promised. “It’s a long story.”

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

August 4- october 10

Summary –
Sydney Sage is an Alchemist, one of a group of humans who dabble in magic and serve to bridge the worlds of humans and vampires. They protect vampire secrets–and human lives.”
In the aftermath of a forbidden moment that rocked Sydney to her core, she finds herself struggling to draw the line between her Alchemist teachings and what her heart is urging her to do. Then she meets alluring, rebellious Marcus Finch–a former Alchemist who escaped against all odds, and is now on the run. Marcus wants to teach Sydney the secrets he claims the Alchemists are hiding from her. But as he pushes her to rebel against the people who raised her, Sydney finds that breaking free is harder than she thought. There is an old and mysterious magic rooted deeply within her. And as she searches for an evil magic user targeting powerful young witches, she realizes that her only hope is to embrace her magical blood–or else she might be next.

review- This book was awesome Sydney was a badass witch and I was screaming at her at some points with adrian like you like him he likes you now be together so in this book there is a witch that is sucking life out of other witches and it’s mrs . terwilliger’s sister this isn’t good and then sydney has to go to a wedding Sonya’s in fact I’m so happy that sonya got married oh and rose was there good to her in guardian action . so Adrian is trying to convince sydney that she loves him and I know she does and she’s looking for marcus and she finds him and he keeps telling her that she needs to break the tattoo and she doesn’t want to . Her and Adrian are trying to warn other girls about the soul sucking witch and they go to the bed and breakfast where mrs. terwilliger’s sister is staying which I thought was idiotic I mean she could be there and suck her soul out and she keeps going into Sydney’s dreams . sydney and adrian raise a dragon that scene was so funny and it turns out that the first people that the dragon see’s and it was sydney and adrian there dragon parents hahaha . she had to seduce ian and get her snuck in and she uses a invisible spell she hits a fire ball at the computer . She finds out the alchemist have been working with the warriors of the light I knew it all a long she breaks the tattoo and in her dream with adrian she shows him the dress and they start making out and oh my god and then she wakes up and she know it was a mistake oh and jill saw it all . sydney car blows up and her necklace was inside and it burt her oh the girl at the bed and breakfast she has been soul sucking she even hurt veronica sydney attacks her sets her teachers house on fire and then we find out angeline and tray have been hooking up what a witch I kind of guessed that though . she decides to go to mexico but on last minute she decides not to go oh and she goes to adrian and awww it’s so sweet oh and then zoe shows up this ought to be good ,this one was my favorite so far.

favorite quotes-

Let me get this straight . The future of our relationship hinged on advice from a fifteen-year old girl , a probally untrue story from a one – eyed chihuahua trainer , and me unromantically – yet skillfully – kissing you on top of silver-ware and china ? yep , I said . page 395

“Whatever happened to the dragon?”

I mustered my primmest tone. “He has a name, you know.”

Adrian pulled back and gave me a curious look. “I didn’t know, actually. What’d you decide on?”

“Hopper.” When Adrian laughed, I added, “Best rabbit ever. He’d be proud to know his name is being passed on.”
“Yes, I’m sure he would. Did you name the Mustang too?”
“I think you mean the Ivashkinator.”

He stared at me in wonder. “I told you I loved you, right?
“Yes,” I assured him. “Many times.”

“I sent a quick text to Adrian: I have a hickey! You can’t ever kiss me again. I honestly hadn’t expected him to be awake this early, so I was surprised to get a response: Okay. I won’t kiss you on your neck again.

So typical of him. No! You can’t ever kiss me ANYWHERE. You said you were going to keep your distance.

I’m trying, he wrote back. But you won’t keep your distance from me.

I didn’t dignify that with a response.”

You made me summon a dragon ! I exclaimed I most certainly did not , she responded Callistanas are a type of demon . I froze A demon well she amended . A very minor and generally benign kind . I didn’t reply for a while Sydney ? are you there ? you had me summon a demon , I replied , voice stiff . you know how I feel about evil and the supernatural . You spent all this time trying to convince me that the magic we do is all for some greater good in the battle against evil , and yet you made me summon a creature of hell. Creature of hell ? she snorted . Hardly . you know nothing about demons . I told you it’s benign , didn’t I ? callstatans can be very useful . they’ll warn you if dark magic is nearby and will even defend you if you’re attacked – not that they can do much damage . I wasn’t buying it . If they’re so useful , then why don’t you have one ? oh , well I’m at a level where I can sense dark magic on my own . That , and – if you’ll forgive my language – callistanas are a real pain in the ass. they make the most irritating noise when they’re hungry . Cats are more than adequate for my needs. page 280

Book Review: isla and the happily ever after Stephanie Perkins

Isla and the Happily Ever After (Anna and the French Kiss, #3)Isla and the Happily Ever After by Stephanie Perkins
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

read from August 20- September 8

Summary -Love ignites in the City That Never Sleeps, but can it last?

Hopeless romantic Isla has had a crush on introspective cartoonist Josh since their first year at the School of America in Paris. And after a chance encounter in Manhattan over the summer, romance might be closer than Isla imagined. But as they begin their senior year back in France, Isla and Josh are forced to confront the challenges every young couple must face, including family drama, uncertainty about their college futures, and the very real possibility of being apart.

Featuring cameos from fan-favorites Anna, Étienne, Lola, and Cricket, this sweet and sexy story of true love—set against the stunning backdrops of New York City, Paris, and Barcelona—is a swoonworthy conclusion to Stephanie Perkins’s beloved series.

Review- isla is at kismet when she sees her crush from school Josh she’s kind of high on meds from getting her wisdom teeth out and Josh and isla talk and he draws her and then she wants to see him again but he wasn’t at kismet they go back to school and she sees josh again they start talking and hanging out and then josh says to isla she likes him and then they start dating it’s so cute there date and then they decide to go to Barcelona Josh says it would be fine they go they have a great time they go to the hotel and have sex it was beautiful and then it goes bad they get caught josh gets expelled isla is mad a kurt and hattie cause Kurt told hattie and nate overheard Josh heads back to NYC and Isla is in france she is applying to dartmath and Josh is planing on going to this cartoonist school then allot of things go bad it’s hard for them to talk his father is up for reelection and around then isla gets a package it’s his graphic novel and isla isn’t a fan cause well his ex girlfriend is there allot but she’s there at the end and she tells josh this and it isn’t very nice and they g et in a stupid fight and isla picks at that josh doesn’t really love her and Josh keeps calling and calling and when isla finally realizes josh does love her it’s to late . Until when she gets back to school and she makes up with Hattie and gives her the treehouse and Hattie tells her that she mailed the signed book isla got josh and then josh calls her he’s in france he wants isla to meet his friends . Anna st. clair lola cricket and even Meredith is there and then something big happens St.clair propses to Anna OH MY GOD it was so cute . Josh walks isla home and gives her the graphic novel again but it’s different this time and she finishes it and she runs to him so cute they spend two weeks together . then it’s june and there back at kismet and josh is finished with the book and they on the happily ever after I loved it isla is going to darthmath and there going to be together I loved there story and it was nice to see my other favorites also.

Favorite quotes – does this…does this mean you want to be my boyfriend?” My question sounds both immature and momentous. But Josh doesn’t flinch.
“Yes,” he says. “I want.”

“We’re enveloped in pitch black. “Wait here,” I whisper.
“Are you getting your ax?”
“Handcuffs.”
“Kinky. But, okay, I’ll try it.”

“Several yards away – closer to the cathedral’s legendary carved doorways – Anna and St. Clair are standing on top of Point Zéro. It’s been hand-brushed clear of its dusting of snow. Point Zéro is the bronze marker, a star, which designates the official centre of France. There are at least two superstitions about it. One is that anyone who stands on the star will return to France. The other is that you can use it to make a wish.
“Wait for it,” Josh says.

Lola stands straighter, excited. “No!”

“Yes,” Cricket says.

I’m the last one in the dark, until – suddenly – it happens. St. Clair removes something from his pocket. And then he gets down on one knee.

Anna’s entire body lights with shock and joy and love. She nods a vigorous yes. St. Clair places the ring on her finger. He stands, she throws her arms around him, and they kiss. He spins her in a circle. They kiss again. Deep, hungry, long. And then he turns to us and waves – with the biggest smile I’ve ever seen – clearly aware that we’ve been standing here the whole time.”

Book Review: if i stay Gayle forman

If I Stay (If I Stay, #1)If I Stay by Gayle Forman
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

August 13-23

Summary -The critically acclaimed, bestselling novel from Gayle Forman, author of Where She Went, Just One Day, and the forthcoming Just One Year.

On a day that started like any other, Mia had everything: a loving family, a gorgeous, admiring boyfriend, and a bright future full of music and full of choices. In an instant, almost all of that is taken from her. Caught between life and death, between a happy past and an unknowable future, Mia spends one critical day contemplating the only decision she has left. It is the most important decision she’ll ever make.

Simultaneously tragic and hopeful, this is a romantic, riveting, and ultimately uplifting story about memory, music, living, dying, loving.

Review – I wanted to read If i stay before the movie came out it has officially came out I haven’t seen it yet though I’m seeing it today I can’t wait . If I stay is about Mia she is a cello player and on her way to being at juliard in new york and leaving her rocker boyfriend Adam one day Mia and her family are driving and it’s snowing like really bad and they get into a car crash her entire family dies but she’s kind of floating over her body like she is a ghost but not really what I loved about this book was the writing it was beautifully written this book is taken place in 24 hours so instead of chapters there is time . I love the Flashbacks like Adam and Mia’s first date it was so cute Adam and Mia share the love of music and I love that . Mia’s family are kind of rockers to Mia’s dad was in a band with there family friend Henry and I love Henry’s wife Willow she’s awesome she’s a nurse and she totally takes charge in getting Adam into see Mia . Mia fallows her body back to the hospital and through this she goes through surgery and sapose to be fine if she can breathe on her own . Now when Adam hears about Mia he has to get in to see her and Kim and Adam almost get arrested if it weren’t for Willow , Adam and Kim get this rocker girl to come and cause a ruckus and that mean nurse gets them out and then Willow steps in and Adam talks to Mia and then he leaves he says he’s going to come back . Kim talks to Mia and tells her even though her family has died she still has a family which was sweet and I started crying I love there friendship . Adam comes back and he tells her he wants her to stay and if she needed him to go he would then she’s back she squeezes his hand and she’s back I loved this book so much I cried I swooned at the romance it was very good .

Favorite quotes –

“If I stay. If I live. It’s up to me.
All this business about medically induced comas is just doctor talk. It’s not up to the doctors. It’s not up to the absentee angels. It’s not even up to God who, if He exists, is nowhere around right now. It’s up to me.”

“How am I supposed to decide this? How can I possibly stay without mom and dad? How can I leave without Teddy? Or Adam? This is too much. I don’t even understand how it all works, why I’m here in the state that I’m in or how to get out of it if I wanted to. If I were to say, I want to wake up, would I wake up right now? I’ve already tried snapping my heels to find Teddy and tried to beam myself to Hawaii, and that didn’t work. This seems a whole lot more complicated.
But in spite of that, I believe it’s true. I hear the nurse’s words again. I am running the show. Everyone’s waiting on me.
I decide. I know this now.
And this terrifies me more than anything else that has happened today.”

“But the you who you are tonight is the same you I was in love with yesterday, the same you I’ll be in love with tomorrow.”

I’m not sure this is a world I belong in anymore. I’m not sure that I want to wake up.

“If you stay, I’ll do whatever you want. I’ll quit the band, go with you to New York. But if you need me to go away, I’ll do that, too. I was talking to Liz and she said maybe coming back to your old life would be too painful, that maybe it’d be easier for you to erase us. And that would suck, but I’d do it. I can lose you like that if I don’t lose you today. I’ll let you go. If you stay.”

Book Review: Harry Potter and the prisoner of Azkaban jk Rowling

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (Harry Potter, #3)Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by J.K. Rowling
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

may 26 – July 29

Summarry -For most children, summer vacation is something to look forward to. But not for our 13-year-old hero, who’s forced to spend his summers with an aunt, uncle, and cousin who detest him. The third book in J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series catapults into action when the young wizard “accidentally” causes the Dursleys’ dreadful visitor Aunt Marge to inflate like a monstrous balloon and drift up to the ceiling. Fearing punishment from Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vernon (and from officials at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry who strictly forbid students to cast spells in the nonmagic world of Muggles), Harry lunges out into the darkness with his heavy trunk and his owl Hedwig.
As it turns out, Harry isn’t punished at all for his errant wizardry. Instead he is mysteriously rescued from his Muggle neighborhood and whisked off in a triple-decker, violently purple bus to spend the remaining weeks of summer in a friendly inn called the Leaky Cauldron. What Harry has to face as he begins his third year at Hogwarts explains why the officials let him off easily. It seems that Sirius Black–an escaped convict from the prison of Azkaban–is on the loose. Not only that, but he’s after Harry Potter. But why? And why do the Dementors, the guards hired to protect him, chill Harry’s very heart when others are unaffected? Once again, Rowling has created a mystery that will have children and adults cheering, not to mention standing in line for her next book. Fortunately, there are four more in the work

Review- The third book in the harry potter series is my favorite so far i think I liked this one the best because things are starting to get good it all starts when we find out that someone is trying to kill Harry other the he who should not be named sirus black and he was harry’s father’s best friend and he’s his godfather and he murdered allot of people oh are there is a new defence of the dark arts teacher Remus Lupin I really liked him oh and there are these things called dementrors they suck the happieness right out of you they keep getting to Harry so the new teacher is trying to teach Harry because a dementor nocked harry off this broom in a quidich match . Fred and George give Harry the mauders map so he can sneak into hogsmead until one time he is cought . Buckbeak is onto being excuted very sad i hate that malfoy family and on that night they find scbbers he wasn’t ate by crookshakes but somethings is odd the dog is there and it’s dragging ron but it’s a trap sirus black is there oh and the rat is really peter petigrew oh and Lupin is a werewolf they hear the real story but it’s to late demortors and they wake up in the hospital Hermine tells harry how she is been getting to all those classes the timeturner and the save croofshakes and sirus black awesome read .
