Book Review: Gone Girl Gillian Flynn

Gone GirlGone Girl by Gillian Flynn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

July 14-August 13

On a warm summer morning in North Carthage, Missouri, it is Nick and Amy Dunne’s fifth wedding anniversary. Presents are being wrapped and reservation. s are being made when Nick’s clever and beautiful wife disappears. Husband-of-the-Year Nick isn’t doing himself any favors with cringe-worthy daydreams about the slope and shape of his wife’s head, but passages from Amy’s diary reveal the alpha-girl perfectionist could have put anyone dangerously on edge. Under mounting pressure from the police and the media—as well as Amy’s fiercely doting parents—the town golden boy parades an endless series of lies, deceits, and inappropriate behavior. Nick is oddly evasive, and he’s definitely bitter—but is he really a killer?

Review : This book was fucking insane the character are fucked up people . This book is about Nick and Amy . Amy goes missing on there 5th anniversary and there place is a mess Nick goes to the cops . And he soon becomes the main suspect Amy set up all these clues for there anniversary . Part of the book was in Amy’s diary’s point of view and it was interesting to see her point of view when they met and there marriage .Nick calls Amy’s parents down to come help they wrote children books based on Amy so fucked up . This book was so addictive I had to know what happened how it turned out . There are people from Amy’s past Amy’s ex boyfriend who tried to kill himself Hillary and Tommy . Nick starts to figure out that the clues relate to places he had sex with his mistress Andie and Amy is framing Nick for her murder like WTF Amy is a really fucked up woman she wants to control everything she told People Hillary that she threw her down the stairs and Tommy that he raped her shes fucking crazy Nick just needs to prove it . Amy’s alive he’s working with his sister and his lawyer . He does a interview to talk how he was a bad husband and he cheated he wants her to come home . Amy is hiding first at this cabin but then she got robbed and then she goes to desi and hides out there but then she kills him ad goes to Nick and it’s so fucking crazy he says he’s leaving her but she won’t let him and now she pregnant and she got away with this I loved this book but shes’s crazy I can’t wait to read more gillian flyn’s books .

Quotes:
“Men always say that as the defining compliment, don’t they? She’s a cool girl. Being the Cool Girl means I am a hot, brilliant, funny woman who adores football, poker, dirty jokes, and burping, who plays video games, drinks cheap beer, loves threesomes and anal sex, and jams hot dogs and hamburgers into her mouth like she’s hosting the world’s biggest culinary gang bang while somehow maintaining a size 2, because Cool Girls are above all hot. Hot and understanding. Cool Girls never get angry; they only smile in a chagrined, loving manner and let their men do whatever they want. Go ahead, shit on me, I don’t mind, I’m the Cool Girl.

Men actually think this girl exists. Maybe they’re fooled because so many women are willing to pretend to be this girl. For a long time Cool Girl offended me. I used to see men – friends, coworkers, strangers – giddy over these awful pretender women, and I’d want to sit these men down and calmly say: You are not dating a woman, you are dating a woman who has watched too many movies written by socially awkward men who’d like to believe that this kind of woman exists and might kiss them. I’d want to grab the poor guy by his lapels or messenger bag and say: The bitch doesn’t really love chili dogs that much – no one loves chili dogs that much! And the Cool Girls are even more pathetic: They’re not even pretending to be the woman they want to be, they’re pretending to be the woman a man wants them to be. Oh, and if you’re not a Cool Girl, I beg you not to believe that your man doesn’t want the Cool Girl. It may be a slightly different version – maybe he’s a vegetarian, so Cool Girl loves seitan and is great with dogs; or maybe he’s a hipster artist, so Cool Girl is a tattooed, bespectacled nerd who loves comics. There are variations to the window dressing, but believe me, he wants Cool Girl, who is basically the girl who likes every fucking thing he likes and doesn’t ever complain. (How do you know you’re not Cool Girl? Because he says things like: “I like strong women.” If he says that to you, he will at some point fuck someone else. Because “I like strong women” is code for “I hate strong women.”)”

There’s something disturbing about recalling a warm memory and feeling utterly cold.”

“My gosh, Nick, why are you so wonderful to me?’

He was supposed to say: You deserve it. I love you.

But he said, ‘Because I feel sorry for you.’

‘Why?’

‘Because every morning you have to wake up and be you.”

Impulse by Ellen Hopkins
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Verdict : Beautifully written
May 11- June 19

Sometimes you don’t wake up. But if you happen to, you know things will never be the same.

Three lives, three different paths to the same destination: Aspen Springs, a psychiatric hospital for those who have attempted the ultimate act — suicide.

Vanessa is beautiful and smart, but her secrets keep her answering the call of the blade.

Tony, after suffering a painful childhood, can only find peace through pills.

And Conner, outwardly, has the perfect life. But dig a little deeper and find a boy who is in constant battle with his parents, his life, himself.

In one instant each of these young people decided enough was enough. They grabbed the blade, the bottle, the gun — and tried to end it all. Now they have a second chance, and just maybe, with each other’s help, they can find their way to a better life — but only if they’re strong and can fight the demons that brought them here in the first place.

Review : This book was beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time it’s about 3 people Vanessa , Tony , and Conner who all have been through a lot and find themselves all in mental hospital and all become friends and some more than that . They each all have problems Vanessa is a cutter who tried to kill herself and Conner put a bullet through his chest . Tony had a bad childhood and resorted to pills . I feel a lot of people can relate to this book we’ve all been through something . Conner has a taste for older woman and slept with his teacher Connors’s family has very high exceptions for him he has a fraternal twin sister and a bitch mother . Tony went to Jail awhile ago for punching his mom’s boyfriend who use to do things to him . Vanessa likes Conner and there pretty hot and heavy for awhile but what I didn’t expect was Tony and vanessa together but I love them together they go to this camping trip so they can complete there time at aspen spring . Conner is going through a lot his family being not supportive pieces of crap . And Tony and Vanessa are all lovey dovey so cute I love them together they care for each other. I thought Tony was gay in the most of the book and so did he but maybe he’s Bi . And when they are rock climbing after they get there letters from there family Conner of course got a crappy one from his mom and he got angry and he flung himself off and died I started sobbing cause he went through a lot this book was heartbreaking there are probably a lot of trigger warnings in this book so be warned but as my first Ellen Hopkins book I loved it .
Quotes-
I love you , too Vanessa , and in my life , love is rare . You are rare -someone who bothered to scratch under my skin and find the person beneath.

Hey , Tony , I test . I’ll give you a kiss too, if you say please .
You wish , he jabs . But I prefer a man who likes to be on top.
ouch little brother I like it on top and on the bottom and standing up . And …oh , man I gotta stop or jerk off.

Memory is a tenuous thing , like a rainbow’s end or a camera with a failing lens. Sometimes my focus is sharp , every detail clean as the splashes of it either, fringing the evaluation eaves ; other times it’s hazy field of frost , like the meadow

My happiest memories have no place in the past; they are those I have yet to create

Her smile is like summer moonlight-beautiful and magical, with a fire that could melt the night

Tony’s Kiss

Is like no other kiss, ever.
It wants, but does not demand.
It asks, but doesn’t take.
It gives, and pleads for more.
It is filled with desire,
but also curiosity,
and it teaches me that a kiss should
come gift wrapped, not stripped naked. Most of all,
it makes me want another kiss
exactly like this one.”

She takes a badly needed job working for ex-Master of the Universe Will Traynor, who is wheelchair-bound after an accident. Will has always lived a huge life—big deals, extreme sports, worldwide travel—and now he’s pretty sure he cannot live the way he is.

Quotes
You only get one life. It’s actually your duty to live it as fully as possible.”
Push yourself. Don’t Settle. Just live well. Just LIVE.”

All I can say is that you make me… you make me into someone I couldn’t even imagine. You make me happy, even when you’re awful. I would rather be with you – even the you that you seem to think is diminished – than with anyone else in the world.”

Hey Clark’, he said.’Tell me something good’. I stared out of the window at the bright-blue Swiss sky and I told him a story of two people. Two people who shouldn’t have met, and who didn’t like each other much when they did, but who found they were the only two people in the world who could possibly have understood each other. And I told him of the adventures they had, the places they had gone, and the things I had seen that I had never expected to. I conjured for him electric skies and iridescent seas and evenings full of laughter and silly jokes. I drew a world for him, a world far from a Swiss industrial estate, a world in which he was still somehow the person he had wanted to be. I drew the world he had created for me, full of wonder and possibility.

“I turned in my seat. Will’s face was in shadow and I couldn’t quite make it out.
‘Just hold on. Just for a minute.’
‘Are you all right?’ I found my gaze dropping towards his chair, afraid some part of him was pinched, or trapped, that I had got something wrong.
‘I’m fine. I just . . . ’
I could see his pale collar, his dark suit jacket a contrast against it.
‘I don’t want to go in just yet. I just want to sit and not have to think about . . . ’ He swallowed.
Even in the half-dark it seemed effortful.
‘I just . . . want to be a man who has been to a concert with a girl in a red dress. Just for a few minutes more.’
I released the door handle.
‘Sure.’
I closed my eyes and lay my head against the headrest, and we sat there together for a while longer, two people lost in remembered music, half hidden in the shadow of a castle on a moonlit hill.”

I kissed him, trying to bring him back. I kissed him and let my lips rest against his so that our breath mingled and the tears from my eyes became salt on his skin, and I told myself that, somewhere, tiny particles of him would become tiny particles of me, ingested, swallowed, alive, perpetual. I wanted to press every bit of me against him. I wanted to will something into him. I wanted to give him every bit of life I felt and force him to live.”

“Sometimes , Clark, you are pretty much the only thing that makes me want to get up in the morning

“You know, you would never have let those breasts so close to me if I weren’t in a wheelchair,’ he murmured.
I looked back at him steadily. ‘You would never have looked at my breasts if you hadn’t been in a wheelchair.’
‘What? Of course I would.’
‘Nope. You would have been far too busy looking at the tall blonde girls with the endless legs and the big hair, the ones who can smell an expense account at forty paces. And anyway, I wouldn’t have been here. I would have been serving the drinks over there. One of the invisibles.’
He blinked.
‘Well? I’m right, aren’t I?’
Will glanced over at the bar, then back at me. ‘Yes. But in my defense, Clark, I was an arse.”

Book Review: The raven boys Maggie stiefvater

The Raven Boys (The Raven Cycle, #1)The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

March 15 -May 20

“There are only two reasons a non-seer would see a spirit on St. Mark’s Eve,” Neeve said. “Either you’re his true love . . . or you killed him.”

It is freezing in the churchyard, even before the dead arrive.

Every year, Blue Sargent stands next to her clairvoyant mother as the soon-to-be dead walk past. Blue herself never sees them—not until this year, when a boy emerges from the dark and speaks directly to her.

His name is Gansey, and Blue soon discovers that he is a rich student at Aglionby, the local private school. Blue has a policy of staying away from Aglionby boys. Known as Raven Boys, they can only mean trouble.

But Blue is drawn to Gansey, in a way she can’t entirely explain. He has it all—family money, good looks, devoted friends—but he’s looking for much more than that. He is on a quest that has encompassed three other Raven Boys: Adam, the scholarship student who resents all the privilege around him; Ronan, the fierce soul who ranges from anger to despair; and Noah, the taciturn watcher of the four, who notices many things but says very little.

For as long as she can remember, Blue has been warned that she will cause her true love to die. She never thought this would be a problem. But now, as her life becomes caught up in the strange and sinister world of the Raven Boys, she’s not so sure anymore.

Review- Blue Sarget is the only one in her family who isn’t a physic but she makes things stronger for other physics on all st eves she sees a spirt named Gansey and if a non – seer sees a spirt on all st eve it means she’s either his true love or she killed him .
Gansey is looking for Glendower a welsh king who if you wake up you get a wish. Gansey and his friends Adam , Ronan ,and Noah are looking for him Adam calls a physic because Gansey heard his voice on a recorder . When Blue goes to work she gets a call Gansey is coming in for his reading . Then Blue meets a guy who tells her she should talk to his friend cause he likes her Blue isn’t a fan of this guy cause he’s a raven boy and rich and that guy is Gansey and then Roanan and his brother are getting into a fight . Ronan found his father when he was killed and Ronan became different . Adam goes to talk to blue to talk about what happened at Ninos and Blue gives Adam her number . Blue has a curse if she kisses her true loves he dies . Adam has a rough home life his father beats him and he doesn’t want Gansey to own him . They all go to the physic appointment and Blue is shocked when it’s “President cellphone ” thats what she calls Gansey the reading was very intense . Blue’s mom doesn’t want Blue to be around those guys but blue can’t not help . Adam sends Blue flowers and they go out with everyone in a helicopter to search for the ley lines . They find this place in the woods and its creepy as hell . Welk is trying to find Glendower also and when he hears Gansey has been looking he isn’t to happy Welk lost a friend seven years ago when he was doing a ritual. Ronan one night is missing from his room and Gansey finds him at a church with his new pet Raven that he named Chainsaw. Blue likes Adam a lot but she hasn’t told him she can’t kiss him and when in the woods she has maybe a vision of her and Gansey . I loved this book a lot more than Maggie stievater other book shiver it’s a very magical and beautiful book . Noah is a character that weirded me out a little I felt like he was hiding something and oh he was Gansey and blue find a dead body and a car and the licences was Noah’s OH MY GOD I was freaking out Noah’s a ghost and Welk killed him and he tried to kill Gansey . Ronan Dropped Adam off at home and Adam’s father starts beating him up and Ronan comes in and beats his father up and then the cops come and he can’t let Ronan go to jail cause of this so he tells the cops and goes to Momemth . Blue comes over and Noah explains to everyone what happened . Noah died seven years ago and seven years ago Gansey almost died when he got stung by bees and he heard a voice telling him he was going to find Glendower. Adam goes to be the sacrifice he takes his gun to welk and shit goes down Welk gets killed Adam wakes the ley lines and Ronan says he made Chainsaw from his dreams oh my god I loved this book I love the characters this book was amazing .
Quotes:
Blue tried not to look at Gansey’s boat shoes ; she felt better about him as a person if she pretend he wasn’t wearing them .

we have to be back in three hours , Ronan said I just fed chainsaw but she’ll need it again. This , gansey replied is precisely why I didn’t want to have a baby with you .”

I thought we were clear that night was for sleeping Ronan shrugged . perhaps for you not tonight . your pterodactyl woke me . why is it making that sound

“Her name’s Chainsaw,” replied Ronan, without looking up. Then: “Noah. You’re creepy as hell back there.”

“I found it.”
“People find pennies,” Gansey replied. “Or car keys. Or four-leaf clovers.”
“And ravens,” Ronan said. “You’re just jealous ’cause” – at this point, he had to stop to regroup his beer-sluggish thoughts – “you didn’t find one, too.”

If we go that way, it seems less like we’ll be shot for trespassing. We can’t be low profile because of your shirt.”
“Aquamarine is a wonderful color, and I won’t be made to feel bad for wearing it,” Gansey said. But his voice was a bit thin, and he glanced back at the church again. Just then he looked younger than she’d ever seen him, his eyes narrowed, hair messed up, features unstudied. Young and, strangely enough, afraid.
Blue thought: I can’t tell him. I can never tell him. I have to just try to stop it from happening.
Then Gansey, suddenly charming again, flipped a hand in the direct of her purple tunic dress. “Lead the way, Eggplant.”
She found a stick to poke at the ground for snakes before they set off through the grass. The wind smelled like rain, and the ground rumbled with thunder, but the weather held. The machine in Gansey’s hands blinked red constantly, only flickering to orange when they stepped too far away from the invisible line.
“Thanks for coming, Jane,” Gansey said.
Blue shot him a dirty look. “You’re welcome, Dick.”
He looked pained. “Please don’t.”

Did you get notes for me?”
“No”, Ronan replied,”I thought you were dead in a ditch.”

Oh! Your hand is cold.” Ashley cupped her fingers against her shirt to warm them.
“I’ve been dead for seven years,” Noah said. “That’s as warm as they get.”

What’s going on with your face, by the way?”
Gansey rubbed his chin, rueful. His skin felt reluctantly stubbled. He knew he was being diverted, but he allowed it. “Is it growing?”
“Dude, you aren’t really going to do that beard thing, are you? I thought you were joking. You know that stopped being cool in the fourteen century or whenever it was that Paul Bunyan lived.” Ronan looked over his shoulder at him. He was sporting the five o’clock shadow that he was capable of growing at any time of the day. “Just stop. You look mangy.”
“It’s irrelevant. It’s not growing. I’m doomed to be a man-child.”
“If you keep saying things like ‘man-child,’ we’re done,” Ronan said. “Hey, man. Don’t let it get you down. Once your balls drop, that beard’ll come in great.”

Book Review: Clockwork Princess Cassandra Clare

Clockwork Princess (The Infernal Devices, #3)

Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Verdict : Beautiful and sad
September 10 2014-March 11 2016

Danger and betrayal, secrets and enchantment in the breathtaking conclusion to the Infernal Devices trilogy.

Tessa Gray should be happy – aren’t all brides happy?
Yet as she prepares for her wedding, a net of shadows begins to tighten around the Shadowhunters of the London Institute.
A new demon appears, one linked by blood and secrecy to Mortmain, the man who plans to use his army of pitiless automatons, the Infernal Devices, to destroy the Shadowhunters. Mortmain needs only one last item to complete his plan. He needs Tessa. And Jem and Will, the boys who lay equal claim to Tessa’s heart, will do anything to save her.

Review- That last book in the series was beautiful I cried so much in this book Tessa is engaged to Jem now I knew this book was going to tear out my heart and stomp on it and it did in many ways . When Gabriel comes and tells everyone his father is a worm the demon pox took over they go to fight and Tessa is still wearing her wedding dress Cecily is such a bad ass she jumps on the worm and Gabriel ends up killing it . The counsel goes to Gabriel and Gideon and asks them to spy on Charlotte what an asshole they don’t do it . Mortimain ends up buying all the yin fein so this could kill Jem and he doesn’t want anyone looking for a cure again he ends up throwing the rest of what he has away . oh the scene where Jem and will first met was so adorable . Will tells Tessa he loves her and she ends up being taken and jessie was killed . So will goes to find Tessa and Henry is working on a portal so he created the portal which is really cool and we find out what tessa is she is part shadowhunter part demon and she was taken and Mortimain is going to make more of the clockwork people but we find out that there is a angel living in tessa’s necklace . When Jem dies and Will can feel it I was sobbing . But Will finds Tessa and he tells her he loves her and then they have sexy time and will has a tattoo 😉 . Sophie is going to be a shadowhunter and Gideon proposes to her eeek so cute so they get the portal working and they go to find Tessa and will and the only others that join them are silent brothers . And Magnus is the one to find Tessa and Will haha I love Magnus so the fight as they are fighting and I thought Henry was dead from these clockwork people which made me cry . And the Counsel was killed by them . one of the silent brothers is JEM OMG how did this happen and Tessa saves the day with her Angel but she has a long time waking up and Jem says goodbye to Tessa and Will . Sophie becomes a shadowhunter Gabriel and Cecily kiss and Will proposes to tessa eeek so romantic so cute when it goes to the epilogue and when will died I was done for I was sobbing and Tessa and Jem meet to talk and he’s not a silent brother anymore oh my god this end of this trilogy killed me I loved it .

Quotes-
You don’t think I can fight.” Tessa said, drawing back and matching his silvery gaze with her own. “Because I’m a girl.”
“I don’t think you can fight because you’re wearing a wedding dress”, said Jem. “For what it’s worth, I don’t think Will could fight in that dress either.”
“Perhaps not,” said Will, who had ears like a bat'”But I would make a radiant bride.”

Life is a book, and there are a thousand pages I have not read. I would read them together with you, as many as I can, before I die -”
She put her hand against his chest, just over his heart, and felt its beat against her palm, a unique time signature that was all its own. “I only wish you would not speak of dying,” she said. “But even for that, yes, I know how you are with your words, and, Will- I love all of them. Every word you say. The silly ones, the mad ones, the beautiful ones, and the ones that are only for me. I love them, and I love you.”

“They say you cannot love two people equally at once,” she said. “And perhaps for others that is so. But you and Will—you are not like two ordinary people, two people who might have been jealous of each other, or who would have imagined my love for one of them diminished by my love of the other. You merged your souls when you were both children. I could not have loved Will so much if I had not loved you as well. And I could not love you as I do if I had not loved Will as I did.”

Five,’ she said. Her lips and cheeks were flushed, but her gaze was steady.
‘Five?’ Gabriel echoed blankly.
‘My rating,’ she said, and smiled at him. ‘Your skill and technique may, perhaps, require work, but the native talent is certainly there. What you require is practice.’
‘And you are willing to be my tutor?’
‘I should be very insulted if you chose another,’ Cecily said, and leaned up to kiss him again.”

A very magnanimous statement, Gideon,” said Magnus.
“I’m Gabriel.”
Magnus waved a hand. “All Lightwoods look the same to me.”

It’s all very romantic , Gabriel said , and then frowned . Or it would be , if my brother could get a word out without sounding like a choking frog . I fear he will go down in history as one the world’s great wooers of woman .

So you are dying for Love then , Will said finally his voice sounded constricted to his own ears . Dying a little faster for love . And there are worse things to die for

Caged behind an electrical fence, locked in a house in the middle of the snow, Senna is left to decode the clues to find out why she was taken. With her survival hanging by a thread, Senna soon realizes this is a game. A dangerous one. Only the truth can set her free.

Review- This book has giving me a emotional book hangover . What if love was put to the test ?
When Senna Richards wakes up in the middle of no where with no memory of how she got there she looks around and finds Isaac who is from her past . This is all a game which they have to solve Senna has to dig into her past they are locked in a house with limited food and heat This book was amazing the writing is beautiful I love Issac he’s a doctor who use to be a drummer and he has very interesting tattoo’s he says things that are so beautiful . I was racking my brain to understand who would put them there and why and I couldn’t figure it out . They figured out the code and were able to go outside not that it did any good with an electrical fence . We go into Senna’s past when she met Isaac in very bad way Senna was raped on Christmas and as she was running out of the woods she meets Isaac . Isaac becomes her “Friend” Senna doesn’t have friends for reasons but he takes care of her helps her eat gets her to leave her place when she’s to scared to . Then Senna goes to the doctor and finds out she has breast cancer she finds comfort in Isaac and she goes to a therapist and talks about her past and her ex boyfriend Nick he’s a writer they went out for awhile until Nick didn’t want her anymore Isaac reads Nick’s book to her it’s like one big love letter to Senna she couldn’t read the entire thing cause she doesn’t like living in the past and Nick is her past . Issac’s tattoo’s are amazing he believes that soul mate and a love of your life is completely different cause one is a choice and one isn’t he tells Senna he loves her when they go to the carousel and they have sex but then Senna files a restraining order on him WTF . Nick’s book is about Senna telling his side of the story and I loved hearing about it he told Senna that she has a mud vein . Back in the present they can go outside but they can’t leave they are trapped the power goes out and Isaac almost dies twice I was crying so much in this book . They end up having sex on the table where Senna finds a well with more food but she breaks her leg . On Christmas they get the gift of power back and a box with her book Nick’s book and her mom’s book . Isaac get’s really sick and I was sure he was going to die and I crying and freaking out until the zookeeper shows up and it turns out to be a woman her therapist I didn’t see that coming but she says her goodbye to him and she takes him to a hospital they find Senna and take her back Senna wants to talk to the dragon and asks her why other than she was crazy . She gets in contact with Nick and they talk and she’s not in love with him anymore she has Cancer again and she’s going to die she goes to see Isaac and he tells her he’s in love with her she leaves town but gets a gift from Isaac another mix tape and she sends him a letter I loved this book I could say so much more it’s just a beautiful fucked up book.
Quotes-
What’s the difference ? I asked him . ” Between the love of your life and your soulmate? one is a choice and one is not .

People lie . They use you and they lie , all they while feeding you bullshit about being loyal and never leaving you. No one can make that promise , because life is about season , and seasons change . I hate change . You can’t rely on it , you can only rely on the fact it will happen . But before it does , and before you learn , you feel good about their stupid bullshit promises . You choose to believe them , because you need to . You go through a warm summer where everything is beautiful and there are no clouds – just warmth , warmth , warmth . You believe in a person’s permanence because humans have a tendency to stick to you when life is good . I call them honey summers . I’ve had enough honey summers in life to know that people leave you when winter comes . When life frosts you over and you’e shivering and layering on as much protection as you can just to survive . you don’t even notice it at first . The cold makes you too numb to see clearly . Then all of a sudden you look up and the snow is starting to melt , and you realize you spent the winter alone . That makes me mad as hell / Mad enough to leave people before they left me . That’s what I did with Nick . That’s what I tried to do with Isaac . Except he wouldn’t leave He stayed all winter .

Tell me a truth, Senna.”
“I don’t know how.”
“Then tell me a lie.”
“I don’t love you.”
“The truth is for the mind,” he says. “Lies are for the heart. So let’s just keep lying.”

There is a string that connects us that is not visible to the eye. Maybe every person has more than one soul they are connected to, and all over the world there are those invisible strings… Maybe the chances that you’ll find each and every one of your soul mates is slim. But sometimes you’re lucky enough to stumble across one. And you feel a tug. And it’s not so much a choice to love them though their flaws and through your differences, but rather you love them without even trying. You love their flaws.”

I dropped my eyes into his hand and snuck another look at the tattoos words —- I could just make out the tip of them . My eyes slid up the sleeves of his shirt and rested on his neck . I didn’t want to look in his eyes when I handed him my keys . A doctor who loved words. Imagine that.
I was curious . What did a man who had held a screaming woman all night have written on his body ?
That’s why writers write—to say things loudly with ink. To give feet to thoughts; to make quiet, still feelings loudly heard.”

Book Review: Everything Everything Nicole Yoon

Everything, EverythingEverything, Everything by Nicola Yoon
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

December 29- January 19

My disease is as rare as it is famous. Basically, I’m allergic to the world. I don’t leave my house, have not left my house in seventeen years. The only people I ever see are my mom and my nurse, Carla.

But then one day, a moving truck arrives next door. I look out my window, and I see him. He’s tall, lean and wearing all black—black T-shirt, black jeans, black sneakers, and a black knit cap that covers his hair completely. He catches me looking and stares at me. I stare right back. His name is Olly.

Maybe we can’t predict the future, but we can predict some things. For example, I am certainly going to fall in love with Olly. It’s almost certainly going to be a disaster.

Review- This book was beautiful . This is about Maddy who is allergic to the world she can’t go outside but when a new neighbor moves next door everything changes his name is Olly he has a tough home life his dad is a drunk and abuses his family . So they start messaging each other she wants to meet Olly and she finds a way how I love the way they talk to each other Olly is adorable he wears all black clothing and loves jumping and moving his body they start to fall for each other then end up kissing . one night Olly’s father is beating up Olly she freaks and goes outside her mom freaks . And her mom takes away the computer so they have problems contacting each other . Maddy leaves her house and goes to Olly they decide to go on a trip Hawaii she told him she had pills so they leave and go there and they swim they eat she loves him he loves her they have a very intimate moment oh my god :O and then Maddy gets sick she goes back home she tells him that there wasn’t pills and she ends the talking with Olly even though she misses him but when she gets an email telling her she was never sick she starts to suspect and she finds out she was never sick her mom lied to her . Maddy’s mom went though a lot when her husband and son were killed and she never healed . Maddy goes to NYC to go to Olly and the scene in the bookstore so cute I loved this book beautiful writing so amazing .
Quotes-Love is worth everything. Everything.”

Sometimes I reread my favorite books from back to front. I start with the last chapter and read backward until I get to the beginning. When you read this way, characters go from hope to despair, from self-knowledge to doubt. In love stories, couples start out as lovers and end as strangers. Coming-of-age books become stories of losing your way. Your favorite characters come back to life.”

I read once that, on average, we replace the majority of our cells every seven years. Even more amazing: we change the upper layers of our skin every two weeks. If all the cells in our body did this, we’d be immortal. But some of our cells, like the ones in our brains, don’t renew. They age, and age us. In two weeks my skin will have no memory of Olly’s hand on mine, but my brain will remember. We can have immortality or the memory of touch. But we can’t have both.

You can’t predict the future. It turns out that you can’t predict the past either. Time moves in both directions – forward and backward – and what happens here and now changes them both.”

To make matters worse, she’s nursing a broken heart thanks to the end of her longtime relationship. Wild rebound sex is definitely not the solution to her problems, but gorgeous hockey star Dean Di-Laurentis is impossible to resist. Just once, though, because even if her future is uncertain, it sure as heck won’t include the king of one-night stands.

It’ll take more than flashy moves to win her over

Dean always gets what he wants. Girls, grades, girls, recognition, girls…he’s a ladies man, all right, and he’s yet to meet a woman who’s immune to his charms. Until Allie. For one night, the feisty blonde rocked his entire world—and now she wants to be friends? Nope. It’s not over until he says it’s over. Dean is in full-on pursuit, but when life-rocking changes strike, he starts to wonder if maybe it’s time to stop focusing on scoring…and shoot for love

Quotes-
Whatcha making?” I call out to Tucker. “Soup,” he calls back. “And baking some bread.” I sigh. “Sometimes I worry about him,” I tell Allie. “The more domestic he gets, the bigger the risk of his penis falling off.” She tsks in disapproval. “Sexist bastard.” “I think you mean sexy bastard,” I say helpfully. “No, I got it right the first time.”

Life hack: if you don’t want someone asking you questions, say the word tampon, and the conversation ends.”

“surprised his head doesn’t spin and his eyeballs don’t bug out. “Um.” His gaze bounces around the bathroom like a rubber ball. He looks at the towel rack, where his cargo pants are hanging. He looks at the bathtub, where I’m lounging like Cleo-fucking-patra. He looks at the bubbles surrounding my body like a fluffy white cloud. And then he looks at Winston. “Dude,” I blurt out. “It’s not what it looks like.” “Nope, nope, nope, I don’t want to know!”

I told you, my dad made sure I knew self-defense.” “Well, kudos to your dad for making sure you could protect yourself. Followed by a fuck you to your dad for turning you into a deadly weapon.”

The Mistake (Off-Campus, #2)

The Mistake by Elle Kennedy
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

**Warning: this text may contain spoilers**

January 13-14

He’s a player in more ways than one…

College junior John Logan can get any girl he wants. For this hockey star, life is a parade of parties and hookups, but behind his killer grins and easygoing charm, he hides growing despair about the dead-end road he’ll be forced to walk after graduation. A sexy encounter with freshman Grace Ivers is just the distraction he needs, but when a thoughtless mistake pushes her away, Logan plans to spend his final year proving to her that he’s worth a second chance.

Now he’s going to need to up his game…

After a less than stellar freshman year, Grace is back at Briar University, older, wiser, and so over the arrogant hockey player she nearly handed her V-card to. She’s not a charity case, and she’s not the quiet butterfly she was when they first hooked up. If Logan expects her to roll over and beg like all his other puck bunnies, he can think again. He wants her back? He’ll have to work for it. This time around, she’ll be the one in the driver’s seat, and she plans on driving him wild.

Review – I loved this series it just gets better and better with each book . John Logan is a playboy when he meets Grace a lot of things change . he ends up knocking on her room by accident and then they watch a movie and fool around . Logan is trying to get over Hannah his best friend’s girlfriend and he doesn’t want to use Grace until he ends up hurting her when they almost have sex but he tells her no and then Grace’s bitch of a best friend ends up texting Logan ugh what a ugh but when Hannah confronts Logan about there little situation on how he has a thing for her it isn’t her he wants its the relationship but Grace won’t talk to him she ends up spending the summer in paris with her mom and Logan has to deal with his home life and knowing he won’t be playing hockey for awhile after college so he can take care of his dad . But when he catches up to Grace he wants to take her out on a date but she says no Grace has changed a lot she doesn’t let her best friend control her life and she meets new friends and ends up going on a date with this on at a party but ends up kissing Logan and then Logan pretty much tells the guy his intentions with Grace but Grace finally agrees to go out with him well he has to do these tasks and its so sweet and adorable on how much he wants to prove to Grace how much he cares and then he takes her out and its so cute and adorable and then they spend the weekend together and they finally have sex and it was intense . Logan is a mess when one day he has to take care of his father and then ends up breaking down and when Grace and Logan end up having a fight about his future and his fear of Grace breaking up with him she tells him she loves him OMG and then she storms out but he finds her and tells her he loves her its so sweet so Logan’s father sits him and his brother down and tells them he’s going to rehab again and Logan has a chance to play hockey now I loved this book soo good onto the next one.
Quotes-
I’m comfortable enough with my hetero status to say that if I did play for the other team? I wouldn’t just fuck Garrett Graham, I’d marry him.

Jesus Christ, will you quit dictating this conversation to Hannah?’ I grumble. ‘Bros before hos, dude.’
‘Call my girlfriend a ho one more time and you won’t have a bro.”

Just as the door opens, I look intently at the screen and act like I’m still chatting with her mother. ‘–And she stuck her finger in my ass when she was blowing me, which was fucking incredible. I never thought I’d enjoy having anything up there, but–‘
Grace screams in horror.”

“Seriously, dude, put on a shirt.”

“Hey, you know what they say,” Dean drawls. “If you’ve got it, flaunt it.”

“No, I’m pretty sure they say put on a shirt when you go for a run, you cocky narcissist.”

His jaw drops. “Narcissist? More like realist. Look at these abs, Wellsy. Actually, touch them. Seriously. It will change your life.”

Oh, he’s joining the team,” Dean declares. “I don’t care if I have to suck his dick to get him to agree to it.”

Laughter breaks out all around him.

“Sucking dick now, are we?” I ask pleasantly.

An evil gleam lights his eyes. “You know what? I won’t just suck it,” he says slowly. “I’ll suck him off. You know, give him an orgasm.”

The other guys exchange mystified looks, but Dean’s mocking look tells me exactly where he’s going with this. Jackass.

“I’m not sure if you all know this, but an orgasm is the point of completion in the pleasure process.” Dean gives me an innocent smile. “Men and women achieve it in different ways. For example, when a woman reaches completion, she might moan or gasp or—
I swear on all that is holy—if one of you doesn’t tell me what the hell just went down here, I’m going to lose my shit.”

I chuckle. “My girl wanted me to send her a boudoir shot of me on a red velvet chaise lounge, but you have no idea how hard it is to find a goddamn red velvet chaise lounge.”

“You say this as if it’s an explanation. It is not.” Justin sighs like the weight of the world rests on his shoulders. “You hockey players are fucked up.”

Book Review: The deal elle Kennedy

The Deal (Off-Campus, #1)The Deal by Elle Kennedy
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

January 11-13

She’s about to make a deal with the college bad boy…

Hannah Wells has finally found someone who turns her on. But while she might be confident in every other area of her life, she’s carting around a full set of baggage when it comes to sex and seduction. If she wants to get her crush’s attention, she’ll have to step out of her comfort zone and make him take notice…even if it means tutoring the annoying, childish, cocky captain of the hockey team in exchange for a pretend date.

…and it’s going to be oh so good.

All Garrett Graham has ever wanted is to play professional hockey after graduation, but his plummeting GPA is threatening everything he’s worked so hard for. If helping a sarcastic brunette make another guy jealous will help him secure his position on the team, he’s all for it. But when one unexpected kiss leads to the wildest sex of both their lives, it doesn’t take long for Garrett to realize that pretend isn’t going to cut it. Now he just has to convince Hannah that the man she wants looks a lot like him.

Review- I loved loved this book it was cute and very funny . Hannah gets suckered into tutoring Garrett in trade he has to help her get the attention of Justin a guy in her class . Garrett annoys Hannah but she’s attracted to him she ends up kissing him and then they hook up and Garret starts to fall for Hannah . Garrett and Hannah have been through a lot Hannah was raped when she was 15 and it’s caused her some problems over the years like she doesn’t drink in public but she trusts Garrett and lets her guard down . Garrett’s father is just an abusive asshole who is a hockey legend he ends up threatening Hannah that if she doesn’t break up with him he’ll cut Garrett off and that’s what she does and it broke my heart to read because she so in love with him but that jackass worms his way but Garrett doesn’t take no for a answer and ends up telling any guy that there not allowed to touch Hannah and then she tells him the truth I loved this book it made me laugh out loud I loved the characters so funny and adorable .

Quotes-
“Sometimes people sneak up on you and suddenly you don’t know how you ever lived without them

“He shakes his head in amazement. “Your voice is…fuck, Wellsy, it’s beautiful.” My cheeks heat up. “You think so?” His impassioned expression tells me he’s dead serious. “Play something else,” he orders. “Um. What do you want to hear?” “Anything. I don’t care.” I’m startled by the intensity in his voice, the emotion now glittering in his gray eyes. “I just need to hear you sing again

“Say it,” he orders. “Say what?” I use the corner of his blanket to wipe the moisture staining my cheeks. “Say Garrett Graham, you are a sex god. You have achieved what no other man ever has. You—” I punch him in the shoulder. “Oh my God, you’re such a jerk. I will never, ever say those words.” “Sure you will.” He smirks at me. “Once I’m through with you, you’ll be shouting those words out from the rooftops.”

The mission is a dark and deadly affair which takes Celaena from the rooftops of the city to the bottom of the sewer–and she doesn’t like what she finds there.

Review – So this one was insane but I loved it I’M SHIPPING SO HARD . So Celaena is back and Arobyn has a new assignment . And she sees that Sam is live and well and they talk and he sees her new scar and is worried and then this new girl lysandra who is a prostitute I hated this girl so much cause she was into Sam and I wanted to punch her and Celaena hates this girl and she has this assignment to take down this guy who wants to take down slaves so she wants to take him down . And she asks Sam to help her . I love Sam and Celaena in this book cause she’s defiantly into him cause she’s always checking him out which I found funny and she gets taken and trapped in a sewer and I was sobbing even though I knew she wasn’t going to die the scene with Sam and her when he was trying to get her out ugh so much . And when they were at that party oh god Sam he’s trying to keep her away and she goes up to the guy that she’s suppose to kill who is a total sleaze. Sam gets her that music she loved which was so sweet . And when they were back in the sewer he tells her he’s leaving for good and she doesn’t want him to he ends up telling her he loves her and she kisses him eeeeek oh my god amazing . So they get ready to take down this guy and there is allot we didn’t know and I felt was missing when this was going to down so Celaena got the files and she kills the guy but the partner runs and the bodyguard who tried to kill Celaena tells her this guy loved his country and it didn’t make sense and it turns out Aroybyn tricked Celeana and this guy was trying to protect the slaves WTF THAT ASSHOLE she paid off her dept and Sam’s and she moved out this was a great novella onto the last one .
I loved Sam and Celaena in this one

Quotes-
Please don’t go.”
He let out an uneven breath. “You’ll be fine without me. You always have been.”
Maybe once, but not now. “How can I convince you to stay?”
“You can’t.”
She threw down the torch. “Do you want me to beg, is that it?”
“No-never.”
“Then tell me-”
“What more can I say?” he exploded, his whisper rough and harsh “I’ve already told you everything—I’ve already told you that if I stay here, if I have to live with Arobynn, I’ll snap his damned neck.”
“But why? Why can’t you let it go?”
He grabbed her shoulders and shook her. “Because I love you!”
Her mouth fell open.
“I love you,” he repeated, shaking her again. “I have for years. And he hurt you and made me watch because he’s always known how I felt, too. But if I asked you to pick, you’d choose Arobynn, and I. Can’t. Take. It.”
The only sounds were their breathing, an uneven beat against the rushing of the sewer river.
“You’re a damned idiot,” she breathed, grabbing the front of his tunic. “You’re a moron and an ass and a damned idiot.” He looked like she had hit him. But she went on, and grasped both sides of his face, “Because I’d pick you.”
And then she kissed him.

I hate to admit it , Sam Cortland , but I missed your sorry ass , too.

Book Review: the assassin and the Desert sarah j . Maas

The Assassin and the Desert (Throne of Glass, #0.3)The Assassin and the Desert by Sarah J. Maas
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

August 31-September 3

The Silent Assassins of the Red Desert aren’t much for conversation, and Celaena Sardothien wouldn’t have it any other way. She’s not there to chatter, she’s there to hone her craft as the world’s most feared killer for hire. When the quiet is shattered by forces who want to destroy the Silent Assassins, Celaena must find a way to stop them, or she’ll be lucky to leave the desert alive

Review- This novella wasn’t my favorite but I still enjoyed the story Celaena must go to the silent master to train with him and get the letter of approval . When she gets there she meets a girl who is going to be her roommate for a month Ansel I felt something was off about her she has a very dark past but her and Celaena start to become friends .When her and Ansel have to go on a trip they end up steeling horses . The master finally agrees to train her , Celena has been thinking of Sam and how Aroben beat her . At this dance thing that they were having she dances with the masters son and when he was about to kiss her she couldn’t do it cause of sam I ship them so bad to bad I know what happens stupid spoilers 😦 but in the end Ansel turns out to be evil and drugs Celena and she figures it out she ended up killing Mickal and the masters son was inured it comes to a fight to the death and she doesn’t kill Ansel she lets her go . The master gives her the letter and some gold to pay off Aroben I hate that guy so much it was a great story onto the next one .
Quotes-
Words could be just as deadly as steel.”

If you can learn to endure pain, you can survive anything. Some people learn to embrace it—to love it. Some endure it through drowning it in sorrow, or by making themselves forget. Others turn it into anger. But Ansel let her pain become hate, and let it consume her until she became something else entirely—a person I don’t think she ever wished to be”

Well, he was certainly desirable-as desirable as Sam, maybe. Sam-when had she ever thought of him as desirable? He’d laugh until he died if ever knew she thought of him like that.

As the memory of that day echoed through her, she remembered the words Sam kept screaming at Arobynn, as the King of the Assassins beat her, the words that she’d somehow forgotten in the fog of pain: I’ll kill you! Sam had said it like he meant it. He’d bellowed it, again and again and again…”

Book Review: the assassin and the healer Sarah J. Maas

The Assassin and the Healer (Throne of Glass, #0.2)The Assassin and the Healer by Sarah J. Maas
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

August 27-30

Meet the Assassin: beautiful, defiant, destined for greatness. Celaena Sardothien has challenged her master. Now she must pay the price. Her journey to the Red Desert will be an arduous one, but it may change the fate of her cursed world forever..

Review- Celena meets a healer Irvine after being punished after the pirate fiasco and she has no idea what’s happened to Sam but at this inn she meets Irvine who is a healer I loved this story it was more interesting hearing about the healer and Irvine’s mother was killed and saved Irvine . Ivrine was attacked and Celena saved her and then taught her how to fight which she ends up having to use when one of the guys comes back but she faught well . Celena left Irvine money so she could go anywhere this was an interesting story I enjoyed it .And of course Celena was a bassass fighting all those men .

Quotes-
“The girl wore her scars the way some women wore their finest jewelry.”

Let me give you a bit of advice.’ the girl said bitterly, ‘from one working girl to another; life isn’t easy, no matter where you are. You’ll make choices you think are right and then suffer for them.’ Those remarkable eyes flickered. ‘So if you’re going to be miserable, you might as well go to Antica and be miserable in the shadow of the Torre Cesme.”

Book Review: the assassin and the pirate lord sarah j . Maas

The Assassin and the Pirate Lord (Throne of Glass, #0.1)The Assassin and the Pirate Lord by Sarah J. Maas
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Summary- On a remote island in a tropical sea, Celaena Sardothien, feared assassin, has come for retribution. She’s been sent by the Assassin’s Guild to collect on a debt they are owed by the Lord of the Pirates. But when Celaena learns that the agreed payment is not in money, but in slaves, her mission suddenly changes—and she will risk everything to right the wrong she’s been sent to bring about.

Review- I haven’t read throne of glass but I’m so excited to after reading this Celaena is a badass . Celaena and Sam have to collect slaves from a pirate which Celaena is against and plans to free them . Sam and her don’t get along very well but they work together to free the slaves . They trick Rolf but it doesn’t work out well he catches them but Sam runs and Celana knocks him out and revels herself to be a sixteen year old girl which shocks the pirate. But the Slaves get away but is Sam safe I wasn’t to sure but she makes Rolf sign this paper saying he won’t allow slaves she finds sam they hug great ending I loved this story .

Quotes-
He couldn’t be dead. Not from the dagger, or those dozen pirates, or from the catapult. No, Sam couldn’t be so stupid that he’d get himself killed. She’d… she’d… Well she’d kill him if he was dead.”

She lifted her chin. “I’ve been shouting for you.”
Sam shrugged, sauntering over to her. “I figured you could wait a few minutes, given that I saved the day and all.” His brows rose high on his ash-covered face.
“Some hero.” She gestured to the ruin of the tower around them. “I’ve never seen such sloppy work”

Sam smiled, his brown eyes turning golden in the dawn. It was such a Sam look, the twinkle of mischief, the hint of exasperation, the kindness that would always, always make him a better person than she was.”
