Book Review: is everyone hanging out without me Mindy kaling

Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (And Other Concerns)Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? by Mindy Kaling
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Mindy Kaling has lived many lives: the obedient child of immigrant professionals, a timid chubster afraid of her own bike, a Ben Affleck–impersonating Off-Broadway performer and playwright, and, finally, a comedy writer and actress prone to starting fights with her friends and coworkers with the sentence “Can I just say one last thing about this, and then I swear I’ll shut up about it?”

Perhaps you want to know what Mindy thinks makes a great best friend (someone who will fill your prescription in the middle of the night), or what makes a great guy (one who is aware of all elderly people in any room at any time and acts accordingly), or what is the perfect amount of fame (so famous you can never get convicted of murder in a court of law), or how to maintain a trim figure (you will not find that information in these pages). If so, you’ve come to the right book, mostly!

In Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me?, Mindy invites readers on a tour of her life and her unscientific observations on romance, friendship, and Hollywood, with several conveniently placed stopping points for you to run errands and make phone calls. Mindy Kaling really is just a Girl Next Door—not so much literally anywhere in the continental United States, but definitely if you live in India or Sri Lanka.

I don’t read books like this like ever but I love mindy as a person and her show the mindy project this book made me laugh I have so many lines highlighted they made me laugh I watch mindy’s show the mindy project and she is exactly as funny in written form I feel like I can relate to her being a curvy girl myself and being made fun of harsh right or when she hit her best friend in a production she was doing she gives you a great laugh I’d say if your going to read this read it with the audio book it’s so much better mindy is an awesome person she talks how she got to write for the tv show the office it’s one of those books you can read and say can I be best friends with her .

“Teenage girls, please don’t worry about being super popular in high school, or being the best actress in high school, or the best athlete. Not only do people not care about any of that the second you graduate, but when you get older, if you reference your successes in high school too much, it actually makes you look kind of pitiful, like some babbling old Tennessee Williams character with nothing else going on in her current life. What I’ve noticed is that almost no one who was a big star in high school is also big star later in life. For us overlooked kids, it’s so wonderfully fair.”

There are many teenage vampire books you could have purchased instead. I’m grateful you made this choice.”

The Art of Letting Go (Uni Files #1)The Art of Letting Go by Anna Bloom
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Summary When Lilah McCannon realises at the age of twenty-five that history is going to repeat itself and she is going to become her mother—bored, drunk and wearing a twinset—there is only one thing to do: take drastic action.

Turning her back on her old life, Lilah’s plan is to enrol at university, get a degree and prove she is a grown-up.

As plans go, it is a good one. There are rules to follow: no alcohol, no cigarettes, no boys and no going home. But when Lilah meets the lead singer of a local band and finds herself unexpectedly falling in love, she realises her rules are not going to be the only things hard to keep.

With the academic year slipping by too quickly, Lilah faces a barrage of new challenges: will she ever make it up the Library stairs without having a heart attack? Can she handle a day on campus without drinking vodka? Will she ever manage to read a history book without falling asleep? And most importantly, can she become the grown-up that she desperately wants to be.
With her head and her heart pulling her in different directions can Lilah learn the hardest lesson that her first year of university has to teach her: The Art of Letting Go

Book Review: Free Four Veronica Roth

Free Four: Tobias Tells the Divergent Knife-Throwing Scene (Divergent, #1.5)Free Four: Tobias Tells the Divergent Knife-Throwing Scene by Veronica Roth
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Started July 17 finished July 17

Summary
#1 New York Times bestselling author Veronica Roth retells a pivotal Divergent scene (chapter 13) from Tobias’s point of view. This thirteen-page scene reveals unknown facts and fascinating details about Four’s character, his past, his own initiation, and his thoughts about new Dauntless initiate Tris Prior.

Four’s point of view of the knife scene was interesting it was cool to see him Into tris in his own way throwing knives at her and even though it was short I still loves it four is an interesting character cause we still don’t really know him yet four fears can’t wait to read more of four .

Book Review: the duff kody keplinger

The Duff (Designated Ugly Fat Friend)The Duff by Kody Keplinger
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Summary Seventeen-year-old Bianca Piper is cynical and loyal, and she doesn’t think she’s the prettiest of her friends by a long shot. She’s also way too smart to fall for the charms of man-slut and slimy school hottie Wesley Rush. In fact, Bianca hates him. And when he nicknames her “the Duff,” she throws her Coke in his face.

But things aren’t so great at home right now, and Bianca is desperate for a distraction. She ends up kissing Wesley. Worse, she likes it. Eager for escape, Bianca throws herself into a closeted enemies-with-benefits relationship with him.
Until it all goes horribly awry. It turns out Wesley isn’t such a bad listener, and his life is pretty screwed up, too. Suddenly Bianca realizes with absolute horror that she’s falling for the guy she thought she hated more than anyone.

Favorite quote “Spanish, huh?” he said, glancing down at the scattered papers as
he grabbed them. “Can you say anything interesting?”
“El tono de tu voz hace que queria estrangularme.” I stood up and waited for him to hand over my papers.
“That sounds sexy,” he said, getting to his feet and handing me the stack of Spanish work he’d swept together. “What’s it mean?”
“The sound of your voice makes me want to strangle myself.”
“Kinky.”

Review-
when Bianca piper goes out with her friends Casey and Jessica at the nest the teen club she doesn’t really have a great time and the day when Wesley rush calls her the Duff the dumb ugly fat friend she was pissed I mean I would of been to . Bianca isn’t a the biggest fan of Wesley he’s a manwhore a womanizer and she is the duff but when some family issues come up she needs a stress relief so she ends of sleeping with Wesley more than once and it turns into a web of lies with her friends her dad starts drinking again and it just becomes to much and when she starts to fall for Wesley she breaks it off and starts to date Toby who she has had a crush on for three years but there doesn’t seam to be a connection and when Wesley just tells her how she feels she couldn’t lie to herself anymore

Book Review : Ten things we did sara mlynowski

Ten Things We Did (and Probably Shouldn't Have)Ten Things We Did by Sarah Mlynowski
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Title – Ten things we did (and probably shouldn’t have)
Author – Sarah Mlynowwski
pages 368
release – June 7th 2011
Publisher haper teen

Summary -2 girls + 3 guys + 1 house – parents = 10 things April and her friends did that they (definitely, maybe, probably) shouldn’t have.

If given the opportunity, what sixteen-year-old wouldn’t jump at the chance to move in with a friend and live parent-free? Although maybe “opportunity” isn’t the right word, since April had to tell her dad a tiny little untruth to make it happen (see #1: “Lied to Our Parents”). But she and her housemate Vi are totally responsible and able to take care of themselves. How they ended up “Skipping School” (#3), “Throwing a Crazy Party” (#8), “Buying a Hot Tub” (#4), and, um, “Harboring a Fugitive” (#7) at all is kind of a mystery to them.

In this hilarious and bittersweet tale, Sarah Mlynowski mines the heart and mind of a girl on her own for the first time. To get through the year, April will have to juggle a love triangle, learn to do her own laundry, and accept that her carefully constructed world just might be falling apart . . . one thing-she-shouldn’t-have-done at a time.

Review – When April’s Dad and Step mom tell her that she’s moving from Connecticut to ohio she is not pleased she would be loosing her boyfriend her friends and her life but then she subjects that she could live at Vi’s house for Junior year but it turns on that Vi’s mom is doing a play in Chicago so they lie make fake emails and mostly cause allot of drama April’s boyfriend Noah starts to act weird she befriends vi friend Hutson who so likes her and Vi tells april she’s a virgin and decided to have sex with Hutson’s brother Dean which is not good because Dean likes vi and vi isn’t looking for a boyfriend but when April finally sleeps with Noah things are still weird cause something bad happens and it ruins there relationship and Dean and vi get together which is so cute cause they finally admited it and hutson kisses April aw so cute and for senior year april moves to paris with her mom.
