The Sun Is Also a Star by Nicola Yoon
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Natasha: I’m a girl who believes in science and facts. Not fate. Not destiny. Or dreams that will never come true. I’m definitely not the kind of girl who meets a cute boy on a crowded New York City street and falls in love with him. Not when my family is twelve hours away from being deported to Jamaica. Falling in love with him won’t be my story.

Daniel: I’ve always been the good son, the good student, living up to my parents’ high expectations. Never the poet. Or the dreamer. But when I see her, I forget about all that. Something about Natasha makes me think that fate has something much more extraordinary in store—for both of us.

The Universe: Every moment in our lives has brought us to this single moment. A million futures lie before us. Which one will come true?

Review : This book was beautiful I loved Everything , Everything and I loved this book
Natasha’s family is being deported and Natasha’s working her hardest to have that not happen Daniel is a poet his family wants him to go to Harvard and be a doctor they both meet and talk and spend some time with each other I love Daniel he’s caring a good poet and he cares for Natasha . They end up making out Natasha meets Daniel’s family . Daniel’s brother is a fucking asshole he treats Daniel like crap . Natasha and Daniel part way they fight cause Natasha tells him that she’s being deported but Natasha wants to see Daniel she finds a lawer who might be able to help . She gets Daniel’s number after Daniel and his brother got in a fist fight they meet back up go up to a roof and kiss and Daniel goes to his college interview which turns out is the same Lawer and he couldn’t stop her deportation they have to leave Daniel goes to her house with her .Years pass they grow apart until they meet again on a plane I loved this book so much one of my new favorites .

Quotes :
Natasha is different . She believes in determinism —- cause and effect . One action leads to another leads to another . Your actions determine your fate .
In this way she’s not unlike Daniel’s dad .
Daniel lives in the nebulous space in between . Maybe he wasn’t meant to meet Natasha today. Maybe it was random chance after all .
But.
Once they met , the rest of it , the love between them , was inevitable

“Maybe part of falling in love with someone else is also falling in love with yourself.”

“Stars are important,” I say, laughing.

“Sure, but why not more poems about the sun? The sun is also a star, and it’s our most important one. That alone should be worth a poem or two.”

“We have big, beautiful brains. We invent things that fly. Fly. We write poetry. You probably hate poetry, but it’s hard to argue with ‘Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day? Thou art more lovely and more temperate’ in terms of sheer beauty. We are capable of big lives. A big history. Why settle? Why choose the practical thing, the mundane thing? We are born to dream and make the things we dream about.”

Observable Fact: I don’t believe in magic.
Observable Fact: We are magic.

Book Review: November 9 Colleen Hoover

November 9November 9 by Colleen Hoover
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

November 23- December 29

Fallon meets Ben, an aspiring novelist, the day before her scheduled cross-country move. Their untimely attraction leads them to spend Fallon’s last day in L.A. together, and her eventful life becomes the creative inspiration Ben has always sought for his novel. Over time and amidst the various relationships and tribulations of their own separate lives, they continue to meet on the same date every year. Until one day Fallon becomes unsure if Ben has been telling her the truth or fabricating a perfect reality for the sake of the ultimate plot twist

Review: Ben meets Fallon on November 9th which is a big date in this book . Fallon was in a big accident when she was younger a fire was set on her dad’s house and he forgot about her so at this dinner with her father where he’s mostly insulting her cause she wants to get into acting again she’s moving to NYC and then Ben steps in pretending to be her boyfriend so they spend the night together hang out and agree to spend November 9th together until there 23 Ben is going to write a book about there love story I loved this book these characters are very interesting I laughed I cried a lot reading this book I think I loved this book more than Slammed . The second November Fallon meets Ben’s brothers Ian and kyle , Kyle ends up punching Ben for we find out later on Ben gets a tattoo it was a cute scene Fallen leaves for NYC . The next november was sad Ben’s brother died in a car accident I felt so bad for Jorden his wife who is pregnant with there child I cried so much so Ben couldn’t make it this November 9 and he wanted fallen but she goes to him which I thought was really sweet they end up having sex and Ben wants to move to NYC but Fallen tells him no he has to be here for his family and she’s right but Ben is heartbroken . Fallen ends up moving back to LA so she can teach acting and Ben shows up with Oliver and he breaks the news to Fallen he’s with Jorden the worse part is you can’t hate Jorden cause of what she’s been through but I felt so bad for Fallen and Ben Fallen says she’s not going to show up next year and I started crying . Ben finds her next year when Fallen is on a date with a big douche Ben and fallen end up making out and then some punching happens and Fallen goes to Ben’s place and she finds his book and we learn he started the fire I screamed WTF how what I needed answers but Fallen was afraid so she left and Ben was heartbroken . Ben Sends Fallen the book but she doesn’t read it but her mom comes over and ends up reading it and tells Fallen to read it and all of Ben’s past was intense his mom committed suicide she had cancer and Ben found her Ben’s mom dated fallon dad for awhile he’s a prick I wasn’t a fan of him Ben ends up setting a fire of his car but he didn’t know it would spread but Ben goes into a depression and wakes up in Jorden bed hes freaking out but mostly she told him to grow up and he was drunk Fallon finishes the book and finds Ben and they kiss I loved this book so much one of my new favorites .
Ps I think they intertwined some of ugly love in this book cause Tate and Miles were in this and Ian was Miles friend in ugly love omg

Favorite quotes
I’m not going to pretend that I know what youve gone through . but after reading those pages , I can assure you that you aren’t the only one who was scarred in that fire . just because he chose not to show you his scars doesn’t mean they don’t exist . she picks up the box and sets it on my lap . here you need to show him the respect he showed you by not turning away from them

I dont want to be your first , Fallon . I want to be your last

it pisses me off you allow something so trivial to define such a huge part of you . I can’t make you pretty in the book . Because that be an insult You’re fucking beautiful. And you’re funny . And the only times I’m not completely enamored by you are the moments you’re feeling sorry for yourself because I don’t know if you’ve realized this yet , but your alive , fallon . and every time you look in the mirror you don’t have a right to hate what you see . Because you survived when a lot of people don’t get that lucky so from now on when you think about your scars , you aren’t allowed to resent them . you’re going to embrace them, because you’re lucky to be on this earth to see them. And any guy you allow to touch your scars better thank you for that privilege.

Wow . Is he …
he is
Ben . I say narrowing my eyes . Are you… booksting me ?
he cocks an eyebrow . Booksting ?
Yeah when a hot guy talks books with a girl . It’s like sexting but out loud with books instead of sex . Nor does it have to do with texts . Okay , so it’s nothing like sexting , but it made sense in my head . He falls onto the bed in laughter . I scoot toward him and place my hand on his chest as I lean over him . Don’t stop I tease in a seductive voice . Give me more Ben . Did you read ebooks or… I run my finger slowly down his chest . Hardbacks ? He pulls his hand behind his head and a smug look washes over his face . Oh they were hardback, all right and I’m not sure if your ready for this , but …. I have my very own TBR pile you should see it , Fallon . It’s huge .

one of the things I try to remind myself is that everyone has scars , she says . A lot of them even worse then mine . the only difference is mine are viable most people’s aren’t .

I read a lot of romance , so I know when the timing is right . if we’re going to kiss it has to be book-worthy.

I practically live in Starbucks . I’m a writer . it’s a rite of passage

If we’re going to kiss, it has to be book-worthy.”

She “loved me” in quotations She kissed me in bold I TRIED TO KEEP HER in all caps She left with an ellipsis . . .”

You can’t leave yet. I’m not finished falling in love with you.

“It’s easy to fall in love, Ben. The hard part comes when you want out.”

Loving someone means accepting all the things and people that person loves, too.”

When you’re willing to give up the things that mean the most to you just to see someone else happy, that’s real love.”

I’m not sure if sex is supposed to make you feel like you’ve just lost a part of yourself to the person inside you, but that’s exactly what it felt like. It felt as if the second we joined together, a tiny piece of our souls got confused and a piece of his fell into me and a piece of mine fell into him. It was by far the single most intense moment I’ve ever shared with another person.”

“if you tell me you want to spend every single day on the calendar this year falling in love with me, then I’m going to kiss you. And I promise it’ll be an eleven.”

I need you to to know that it was always you who had my heart.”

Book Review: Furiously happy a funny book about horrible things Jenny Lawson

Furiously Happy: A Funny Book About Horrible ThingsFuriously Happy: A Funny Book About Horrible Things by Jenny Lawson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Book review : Furiously happy by jenny lawson December 20-24

In LET’S PRETEND THIS NEVER HAPPENED, Jenny Lawson baffled readers with stories about growing up the daughter of a taxidermist. In her new book, FURIOUSLY HAPPY, Jenny explores her lifelong battle with mental illness. A hysterical, ridiculous book about crippling depression and anxiety? That sounds like a terrible idea. And terrible ideas are what Jenny does best.

According to Jenny: “Some people might think that being ‘furiously happy’ is just an excuse to be stupid and irresponsible and invite a herd of kangaroos over to your house without telling your husband first because you suspect he would say no since he’s never particularly liked kangaroos. And that would be ridiculous because no one would invite a herd of kangaroos into their house. Two is the limit. I speak from personal experience. My husband says that none is the new limit. I say he should have been clearer about that before I rented all those kangaroos.”

“Most of my favorite people are dangerously fucked-up but you’d never guess because we’ve learned to bare it so honestly that it becomes the new normal. Like John Hughes wrote in The Breakfast Club, ‘We’re all pretty bizarre. Some of us are just better at hiding it.’ Except go back and cross out the word ‘hiding.'”

Jenny’s first book, LET’S PRETEND THIS NEVER HAPPENED, was ostensibly about family, but deep down it was about celebrating your own weirdness. FURIOUSLY HAPPY is a book about mental illness, but under the surface it’s about embracing joy in fantastic and outrageous ways-and who doesn’t need a bit more of that?
Review : I loved this book I loved the way Jenny talked about living with anxiety and depression I read this with the audiobook it was so funny and relate able I’ve had anxiety since I was 11 or 12 . And reading this book made me see that I’m not alone others have the same or different problems as me . I highly recommend reading this book if you have anxiety or just want to understand it . She talks about being married and having a daughter and other crazy things that have happened to her and when she talks about things that could happen in her head I’m like I totally understand .
Quotes
i’m alergic to latex and it makes me break out in a rash so most condoms are out for me because the last thing any of us want is a vagina rash . The alternative is the ones made out of sheepskin , but it always creeps me out because does that mean Victor and I are having sex with a sheep ? A dead sheep , actually . So bestiality and necrophilia . And a three way ,I think . I actually mentioned this to Victor and he immediately booked a vasectomy , which is sweet because it’s nice he cares about me . He claimed it was less his caring and more ” Id rather have my nuts cut off than have to listen to you talk about having three ways with dead sheep.

When you come out of the grips of a depression there is an incredible relief, but not one you feel allowed to celebrate. Instead, the feeling of victory is replaced with anxiety that it will happen again, and with shame and vulnerability when you see how your illness affected your family, your work, everything left untouched while you struggled to survive. We come back to life thinner, paler, weaker … but as survivors. Survivors who don’t get pats on the back from coworkers who congratulate them on making it. Survivors who wake to more work than before because their friends and family are exhausted from helping them fight a battle they may not even understand. I hope to one day see a sea of people all wearing silver ribbons as a sign that they understand the secret battle, and as a celebration of the victories made each day as we individually pull ourselves up out of our foxholes to see our scars heal, and to remember what the sun looks like.”

Don’t sabotage yourself. There are plenty of other people willing to do that for free.”

Without the dark there isn’t light. Without the pain there is no relief. And I remind myself that I’m lucky to be able to feel such great sorrow, and also such great happiness. I can grab on to each moment of joy and live in those moments because I have seen the bright contrast from dark to light and back again. I am privileged to be able to recognize that the sound of laughter is a blessing and a song, and to realize that the bright hours spent with my family and friends are extraordinary treasures to be saved, because those same moments are a medicine, a balm. Those moments are a promise that life is worth fighting for, and that promise is what pulls me through when depression distorts reality and tries to convince me otherwise.”

Last month, as Victor drove me home so I could rest, I told him that sometimes I felt like his life would be easier without me. He paused a moment in thought and then said, “It might be easier. But it wouldn’t be better.”

I can tell you that “Just cheer up” is almost universally looked at as the most unhelpful depression cure ever. It’s pretty much the equivalent of telling someone who just had their legs amputated to “just walk it off.” Some people don’t understand that for a lot of us, mental illness is a severe chemical imbalance rather just having “a case of the Mondays.” Those same well-meaning people will tell me that I’m keeping myself from recovering because I really “just need to cheer up and smile.” That’s when I consider chopping off their arms and then blaming them for not picking up their severed arms so they can take them to the hospital to get reattached.”

most of my favorite people are dangerously fucked up but you’d never guess it because we’ve either become adept at hiding it or we’ve learned to bare it so honestly that it becomes the new normal. There’s a quote from The Breakfast Club that goes “We’re all pretty bizarre. Some of us are just better at hiding it.” I have it on a poster but I took a Sharpie to it and scratched out the word “hiding” because it reminds me that there’s a certain pride and freedom that comes from wearing your unique bizarreness like a badge of honor.”

Book Review: Let it snow John Green

Let it SnowLet it Snow by John Green
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Book review Let it snow by John green and ect … November 26- December 23An ill-timed storm on Christmas Eve buries the residents of Gracetown under multiple feet of snow and causes quite a bit of chaos. One brave soul ventures out into the storm from her stranded train and sets off a chain of events that will change quite a few lives. Over the next three days one girl takes a risky shortcut with an adorable stranger, three friends set out to win a race to the Waffle House (and the hash brown spoils), and the fate of a teacup pig falls into the hands of a lovesick barista.A trio of today’s bestselling authors – John Green, Maureen Johnson, and Lauren Myracle – bring all the magic of the holidays to life in three hilarious and charming interconnected tales of love, romance, and kisses that will steal your breath away
Review: I loved this book because this is different than most short stories it’s all based on this big storm in Gracetown and everyone knows each other it’s very cute the first story the Jubilee express : is about a girl name Jubilee who’s parents have been arrested for this flobie problem so she is on a train she’s trying to talk to her boyfriend who is a total dick then the train crashes and she crosses the train to a waffle house she meets some interesting characters along the line cheerleaders and a guy name Jeb then Julie meets Stewart he works at target and offers to bring him to his house and she agrees . They walk to his house and end up falling into a pond this was such a cute story Julie breaks up with her dick boyfriend then her and Stewart make out he freaks out she tries to leave and he finds her they talk and she kisses him I loved this story .5/5the second story :
Is about Tobin , JP and the Duke with the big storm they decide to make a big trip to the waffle house to see cheerleaders but the Duke isn’t to happy cause she’s a girl and it’s snowing but what she will do for hashbrowns they almost get attacked by the twins Tobin might like the Duke this one was really cute and funny I loved these characters Tobin almost gets frost bite but they finally get to the waffle house yay and Tobin and the duke kiss so cute . 5/5
the last story : Addie is going through a rough time she cheated on her boyfriend Jeb I didn’t really like Addie I think Jeb deserved so much better he was so sweet and cute . Addie works at starbucks and her friend is getting a teacup pig and she offers to pick it up but she gets distracted and someone buys it but she finds the owner and gets the pig back. Addie sent an email to Jeb to meet her at the starbucks he told her he’d think about it . I loved the ending cause all the couples are in the starbucks Tobbie and duke , Stewart and Julie and Jeb shows up and he kisses Addie so cute 3/5I loved this christmas book such a perfect christmas read .quotes “I always had this idea that you should never give up a happy middle in the hopes of a happy ending, because there is no such thing as a happy ending. Do you know what I mean?
There is so much to lose.” “Christmas is never over, unless you want it to be… Christmas is a state of mind.
” Lady and gentleman, when my parents left Korea with nothing but the clothes on their backs and the considerable wealth they had amassed in the shipping business, they had a dream. They had a dream that one day amid the snowy hilltops of western North Carolina, their son would lose his virginity to a cheerleader in the woman’s bathroom of a Waffle House just off the interstate. My parents have sacrificed so much for this dream! And that is why we must journey on, despite all trials and tribulations! Not for me and least of all for the poor cheerleader in question, but for my parents and indeed for all immigrants who came to his great nation in what they themselves could never have: CHEERLEADER SEX.” We are all flawed, my dear. Every one of us. And believe me, we’ve all made mistakes. You’ve just got to take a good hard look at yourself, change what needs to be changed, and move one, pet.”

There is always the risk: something is good and good and good and good, and then all at once it gets awkward. All at once, she sees you looking at her, and then she doesn’t want to joke around with you anymore, because she doesn’t want to seem flirty, because she doesn’t want you to think she likes you. It’s such a disaster, whenever, in the course of human relationships, someone begins to chisel away at the wall of separation between friendship and kissing. Breaking down that wall is the kind of story that might have a happy middle— oh, look, we broke down this wall, I’m going to look at you like a girl and you’re going to look at me like a boy and we’re going to play a fun game called Can I Put My Hand There What About There What About There. And sometimes that happy middle looks so great that you can convince yourself that it’s not the middle but will last forever.” “Were you playing with Stuart?” she asked. The question was loaded. I was a filthy, filthy woman, and even the five-year-old knew it.”
I realize Jubilee is a bit of a stripper name. You probably think I have heard the call of the pole.” “All I’m saying is that if you love someone, you should be willing to show it.”

“I missed you every hour. And you know what the worst part was? It caught me completely by surprise. I’d catch myself just walking around to find you, not for any reason, just out of habit, because I’d seen something that I wanted to tell you about or because I wanted to hear your voice. And then I’d realize that you weren’t there anymore, and every time, every single time, it was like having the wind knocked out of me. I’ve risked my life for you. I’ve walked half the length of Ravka for you, and I’d do it again and again and again just to be with you, just to starve with you and freeze with you and hear you complain about hard cheese every day. So don’t tell me why we don’t belong together,” he said fiercely.”

I’m not like you, Mal. I never really fit in the way you did. I never really belonged anywhere.”
“You belonged with me.

“You’re shaking.”

“I’m not used to people trying to kill me.”

“Really? I hardly notice anymore.”

“Did you miss me, Alina? Did you miss me when you were gone?”
“Every day,” I said hoarsely.

Book Review: The dream thieves Maggie Stiefvater

The Dream Thieves (The Raven Cycle, #2)The Dream Thieves by Maggie Stiefvater
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

May 20- September 28
If you could steal things from dreams, what would you take?

Ronan Lynch has secrets. Some he keeps from others. Some he keeps from himself.

One secret: Ronan can bring things out of his dreams.

And sometimes he’s not the only one who wants those things.

Ronan is one of the raven boys – a group of friends, practically brothers, searching for a dead king named Glendower, who they think is hidden somewhere in the hills by their elite private school, Aglionby Academy. The path to Glendower has long lived as an undercurrent beneath town. But now, like Ronan’s secrets, it is beginning to rise to the surface – changing everything in its wake.

Review : This book was awesome I love Ronan well I love all the boys but Ronan is an interesting character he can take things from his dream he created chainsaw from his dreams . Cabeswater is gone Ronan created it and it’s just gone . His father could do what Ronan can do and he created Ronan’s mother who is stuck in a dream state . We meet a new character the gray man who is a hit man who was hired to take the greywaren who is Ronan he goes to 300 fox way and gets his reading done and ends up taking blue’s mom on a date . Kavinsky can do what Ronan can do also but he’s also fucking crazy he speed races with ronan a lot I’m pretty sure he’s gay just the way he acts around Ronan . But he takes this pill that gets him in his dreams it’s very weird . Ronan created this creature from this dream which was scary as hell . Adam and Gansey go to DC and Adam goes missing for a bit and looses his memory of how he went missing . Blue still hasn’t told Adam about her curse and he doesn’t know why she wont kiss him . Noah and Blue kiss it was so cute . Blue finally tells Adam about her curse after he came back and she tells him that it won’t be him . She takes a ride with Gansey and they talk and they like each other but there trying to ignore it so they won’t hurt Adam but there so cute together . Ronan likes Adam like there are little hints that were given . Ronan’s other brother mathew is so adorable and Ronan cares for him unlike his other brother . Ronan and Mathew break into there house that there not allowed to be in and someone else breaks in and takes the box that Ronan created from his dream . Kavinsky takes Mathew and Ronan and him have this huge fight they find mathew and Kavinsky is dead . Cabeswater is back and they take Ronan’s mother there and she wakes up I loved this book at the end Ronan says that ones of his secrets is Adam oh my god . onto the next one .

Quotes:
you are still wearing those incredibly stupid boat shoes and of all the things you have bought , you still haven’t replaced them !
Ronan eyed Noah . I’m seeing an apparition right now . Noah made a rude gesture, a hilariously unthreatening act coming from him , like a growl from a kitten.

What’s that ?
Jane ! Gansey said joyfully
Adam said , it’s a wizard in a box.
It will do your homework , Noah added .
And it’s been dating your girlfriend , Ronan finished
Blue scowled. Are you all drunk ?

In that moment , Blue was a little in love with all of them . Their magic . Their quest. Their awfulness and strangeness . Her raven boys .

“I wish you could be kissed, Jane,’ he said. ‘Because I would beg just one off you. Under all this.’ He flailed an arm toward the stars.”

A secret is a strange thing.

There are three kinds of secrets. One is the sort everyone knows about, the sort you need at least two people for. One to keep it. One to never know. The second is a harder kind of secret: one you keep from yourself. Every day, thousands of confessions are kept from their would-be confessors, none of these people knowing that their never-admitted secrets all boil down to the same three words: I am afraid.

And then there is the third kind of secret, the most hidden kind. A secret no one knows about. Perhaps it was known once, but was taken to the grave. Or maybe it is a useless mystery, arcane and lonely, unfound because no one ever looked for it.

Sometimes, some rare times, a secret stays undiscovered because it is something too big for the mind to hold. It is too strange, too vast, too terrifying to contemplate.

All of us have secrets in our lives. We’re keepers or keptfrom, players or played. Secrets and cockroaches — that’s what will be left at the end of it all.”

Ronan’s bedroom door burst open. Hanging on the door frame, Ronan leaned out to peer past Gansey. He was doing that thing where he looked like both the dangerous Ronan he was now and the cheerier Ronan he had been when Gansey first met him.

“Hold on,” Gansey told Adam. Then, to Ronan: “Why would he be?”

“No reason. Just no reason.” Ronan slammed his door.

Gansey asked Adam, “Sorry. You still have that suit for the party?”

Adam’s response was buried in the sound of the second-story door falling open. Noah slouched in. In a wounded tone, he said, “He threw me out the window!”

Ronan’s voice sang out from behind his closed door: “You’re already dead!”

He left Chainsaw behind, much to her irritation. Ronan didn’t want her to learn any bad language.”

When Maura opened the door of 300 Fox Way, she found the Gray Man standing pensively on the other side. He had brought her two things: a daisy-chain crown, which he somberly placed on her head, and a pink switchblade, which he handed to her. Both had taken some effort to procure. The first because the Gray Man had forgotten how to efficiently link daisies and the second because switchblades were illegal in Virginia, even if they were pink

A Court of Thorns and Roses (A Court of Thorns and Roses, #1)A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas

he stole a life. Now she must pay with her heart.

When nineteen-year-old huntress Feyre kills a wolf in the woods, a beast-like creature arrives to demand retribution. Dragged to a treacherous magical land she knows about only from legends, Feyre discovers that her captor is not an animal, but Tamlin—one of the lethal, immortal faeries who once ruled their world.

As she dwells on his estate, her feelings for Tamlin transform from icy hostility into a fiery passion that burns through every lie and warning she’s been told about the beautiful, dangerous world of the Fae. But an ancient, wicked shadow over the faerie lands is growing, and Feyre must find a way to stop it . . . or doom Tamlin—and his world—forever.

Review : I read my first Sarah J. Quotes:
“I love you,’ he whispered, and kissed my brow. ‘Thorns and all.”

Don’t feel bad for one moment about doing what brings you joy.”

“Rhysand stared at me for long enough that I faced him.
“Be glad of your human heart, Feyre. Pity those who don’t feel anything at all.”

There are those who seek me a lifetime but never we meet,
And those I kiss but who trample me beneath ungrateful feet.

At times I seem to favor the clever and the fair,
But I bless all those who are brave enough to dare.

By large, my ministrations are soft-handed and sweet,
But scorned, I become a difficult beast to defeat.

For though each of my strikes lands a powerful blow,
When I kill, I do it slow… ”

Would you like me to grovel with gratitude for bringing me here, High Lord?”

“Ah. The Suriel told you nothing important, did it?”

That smile of his sparked something bold in my chest. “He also said that you liked being brushed, and if I’m a clever girl, I might train you with treats.”

Tamlin tipped his head to the sky and roared with laughter. Despite myself, I let out a quiet laugh.

“I might die of surprise,” Lucien said behind me. “You made a joke, Feyre.”

I turned to look at him with a cool smile. “You don’t want to know what the Suriel said about you.” I flicked my brows up, and Lucien lifted his hands in defeat.

“I’d pay good money to hear what the Suriel thinks of Lucien,” Tamlin said.

A cork popped, followed by the sounds of Lucien chugging the bottle’s contents and chuckling with a muttered, “Brushed.”

Because I wouldn’t want to die alone,” I said, and my voice wobbled as I looked at Tamlin again, forcing myself to meet his stare. “Because I’d want someone to hold my hand until the end, and awhile after that.
That’s something everyone deserves, human or faerie.”

I heard you scream,” he said as he examined the blade in my hands. I’d never held one so finely crafted, so perfectly balanced. “And I hesitated. Not long, but I hesitated before I came running. Even though Tam got there in time, I still broke my word in those seconds I waited.” He jerked his chin at the knife. “It’s yours. Don’t bury it in my back, please

Blood filled my mouth, warm as it dribbled out between my lips. I gazed at Tamlin’s masked face one last time.

“Love,” I breathed, the world crumbling into a blackness with no end. A pause in Amarantha’s magic. “The answer to the riddle…,” I got out, chocking on my own blood, “is… love.”

Tamlin’s eyes went wide before something forever cracked in my spine.”

Book Review: Miss Peregrine’s home for peculiar children Randsom Riggs

Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children (Miss Peregrine's Peculiar Children, #1)Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

3.5 out of 5
August 22- September 16

A mysterious island. An abandoned orphanage. A strange collection of curious photographs.

A horrific family tragedy sets sixteen-year-old Jacob journeying to a remote island off the coast of Wales, where he discovers the crumbling ruins of Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. As Jacob explores its abandoned bedrooms and hallways, it becomes clear that the children were more than just peculiar. They may have been dangerous. They may have been quarantined on a deserted island for good reason. And somehow—impossible though it seems—they may still be alive.

Review : This book was and enjoyable ride Jacob’s grandfather has been telling him these stories since he was little and he used to believe them but as he got older he didn’t so anymore until one day when he went to visit his grandfather and his grandfather was attacked by a monster and his family called him crazy cause he said he saw a monster he was sent to therapy Jacob and his father end up going to wales so Jacob can see this house which is falling apart . Jacob wants to see if he can find any of the people who lived in the house way back then but there all dead killed by the bombs . And then Jacob goes to this house one last time and he see them the children and he’s chasing after them and ends up back in there time before they were killed it’s called a loop so the day repeats day after day he meets Emma a girl who tried to kill him because she thought he was endangering her . we meet a lot of interesting characters and I loved the photograph element added to the book it made it more interesting . Bad things are happening outside of the loop sheep are ending up murdered some guy was killed and there is a strange person around . Emma and Jacob’s grandfather were involved and Jacob and Emma end up sort of liking each other . The house was under attack a weigt ended up taking miss peregrine . Jacob killed one who was his therapist. Jacob decides he wants to stay with them but he has to tell his father and when he’s about to everyone shows up it was a funny scene I’m looking forward to reading the next book.
Quotes:
I used to dream about escaping my ordinary life, but my life was never ordinary. I had simply failed to notice how extraordinary it was.

We cling to our fairy tales until the price for believing in them becomes too high.”

Stars, too, were time travelers. How many of those ancient points of light were the last echoes of suns now dead? How many had been born but their light not yet come this far? If all the suns but ours collapsed tonight, how many lifetimes would it take us to realize we were alone? I had always known the sky was full of mysteries—but not until now had I realized how full of them the earth was.”

“How many times have I told you? Polite persons do not take supper in the nude

I don’t mean to be rude’ I said, ‘but what are you people?’
‘We’re peculiar,’ he replied, sounding a bit puzzled. ‘Aren’t you?;
‘I don’t know. I don’t think so’
‘That’s a shame.”

Book Review: Gone Girl Gillian Flynn

Gone GirlGone Girl by Gillian Flynn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

July 14-August 13

On a warm summer morning in North Carthage, Missouri, it is Nick and Amy Dunne’s fifth wedding anniversary. Presents are being wrapped and reservation. s are being made when Nick’s clever and beautiful wife disappears. Husband-of-the-Year Nick isn’t doing himself any favors with cringe-worthy daydreams about the slope and shape of his wife’s head, but passages from Amy’s diary reveal the alpha-girl perfectionist could have put anyone dangerously on edge. Under mounting pressure from the police and the media—as well as Amy’s fiercely doting parents—the town golden boy parades an endless series of lies, deceits, and inappropriate behavior. Nick is oddly evasive, and he’s definitely bitter—but is he really a killer?

Review : This book was fucking insane the character are fucked up people . This book is about Nick and Amy . Amy goes missing on there 5th anniversary and there place is a mess Nick goes to the cops . And he soon becomes the main suspect Amy set up all these clues for there anniversary . Part of the book was in Amy’s diary’s point of view and it was interesting to see her point of view when they met and there marriage .Nick calls Amy’s parents down to come help they wrote children books based on Amy so fucked up . This book was so addictive I had to know what happened how it turned out . There are people from Amy’s past Amy’s ex boyfriend who tried to kill himself Hillary and Tommy . Nick starts to figure out that the clues relate to places he had sex with his mistress Andie and Amy is framing Nick for her murder like WTF Amy is a really fucked up woman she wants to control everything she told People Hillary that she threw her down the stairs and Tommy that he raped her shes fucking crazy Nick just needs to prove it . Amy’s alive he’s working with his sister and his lawyer . He does a interview to talk how he was a bad husband and he cheated he wants her to come home . Amy is hiding first at this cabin but then she got robbed and then she goes to desi and hides out there but then she kills him ad goes to Nick and it’s so fucking crazy he says he’s leaving her but she won’t let him and now she pregnant and she got away with this I loved this book but shes’s crazy I can’t wait to read more gillian flyn’s books .

Quotes:
“Men always say that as the defining compliment, don’t they? She’s a cool girl. Being the Cool Girl means I am a hot, brilliant, funny woman who adores football, poker, dirty jokes, and burping, who plays video games, drinks cheap beer, loves threesomes and anal sex, and jams hot dogs and hamburgers into her mouth like she’s hosting the world’s biggest culinary gang bang while somehow maintaining a size 2, because Cool Girls are above all hot. Hot and understanding. Cool Girls never get angry; they only smile in a chagrined, loving manner and let their men do whatever they want. Go ahead, shit on me, I don’t mind, I’m the Cool Girl.

Men actually think this girl exists. Maybe they’re fooled because so many women are willing to pretend to be this girl. For a long time Cool Girl offended me. I used to see men – friends, coworkers, strangers – giddy over these awful pretender women, and I’d want to sit these men down and calmly say: You are not dating a woman, you are dating a woman who has watched too many movies written by socially awkward men who’d like to believe that this kind of woman exists and might kiss them. I’d want to grab the poor guy by his lapels or messenger bag and say: The bitch doesn’t really love chili dogs that much – no one loves chili dogs that much! And the Cool Girls are even more pathetic: They’re not even pretending to be the woman they want to be, they’re pretending to be the woman a man wants them to be. Oh, and if you’re not a Cool Girl, I beg you not to believe that your man doesn’t want the Cool Girl. It may be a slightly different version – maybe he’s a vegetarian, so Cool Girl loves seitan and is great with dogs; or maybe he’s a hipster artist, so Cool Girl is a tattooed, bespectacled nerd who loves comics. There are variations to the window dressing, but believe me, he wants Cool Girl, who is basically the girl who likes every fucking thing he likes and doesn’t ever complain. (How do you know you’re not Cool Girl? Because he says things like: “I like strong women.” If he says that to you, he will at some point fuck someone else. Because “I like strong women” is code for “I hate strong women.”)”

There’s something disturbing about recalling a warm memory and feeling utterly cold.”

“My gosh, Nick, why are you so wonderful to me?’

He was supposed to say: You deserve it. I love you.

But he said, ‘Because I feel sorry for you.’

‘Why?’

‘Because every morning you have to wake up and be you.”

Book Review: impulse Ellen Hopkins

Impulse (Impulse, #1)Impulse by Ellen Hopkins

Impulse by Ellen Hopkins
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Verdict : Beautifully written
May 11- June 19

Sometimes you don’t wake up. But if you happen to, you know things will never be the same.

Three lives, three different paths to the same destination: Aspen Springs, a psychiatric hospital for those who have attempted the ultimate act — suicide.

Vanessa is beautiful and smart, but her secrets keep her answering the call of the blade.

Tony, after suffering a painful childhood, can only find peace through pills.

And Conner, outwardly, has the perfect life. But dig a little deeper and find a boy who is in constant battle with his parents, his life, himself.

In one instant each of these young people decided enough was enough. They grabbed the blade, the bottle, the gun — and tried to end it all. Now they have a second chance, and just maybe, with each other’s help, they can find their way to a better life — but only if they’re strong and can fight the demons that brought them here in the first place.

Review : This book was beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time it’s about 3 people Vanessa , Tony , and Conner who all have been through a lot and find themselves all in mental hospital and all become friends and some more than that . They each all have problems Vanessa is a cutter who tried to kill herself and Conner put a bullet through his chest . Tony had a bad childhood and resorted to pills . I feel a lot of people can relate to this book we’ve all been through something . Conner has a taste for older woman and slept with his teacher Connors’s family has very high exceptions for him he has a fraternal twin sister and a bitch mother . Tony went to Jail awhile ago for punching his mom’s boyfriend who use to do things to him . Vanessa likes Conner and there pretty hot and heavy for awhile but what I didn’t expect was Tony and vanessa together but I love them together they go to this camping trip so they can complete there time at aspen spring . Conner is going through a lot his family being not supportive pieces of crap . And Tony and Vanessa are all lovey dovey so cute I love them together they care for each other. I thought Tony was gay in the most of the book and so did he but maybe he’s Bi . And when they are rock climbing after they get there letters from there family Conner of course got a crappy one from his mom and he got angry and he flung himself off and died I started sobbing cause he went through a lot this book was heartbreaking there are probably a lot of trigger warnings in this book so be warned but as my first Ellen Hopkins book I loved it .
Quotes-
I love you , too Vanessa , and in my life , love is rare . You are rare -someone who bothered to scratch under my skin and find the person beneath.

Hey , Tony , I test . I’ll give you a kiss too, if you say please .
You wish , he jabs . But I prefer a man who likes to be on top.
ouch little brother I like it on top and on the bottom and standing up . And …oh , man I gotta stop or jerk off.

Memory is a tenuous thing , like a rainbow’s end or a camera with a failing lens. Sometimes my focus is sharp , every detail clean as the splashes of it either, fringing the evaluation eaves ; other times it’s hazy field of frost , like the meadow

My happiest memories have no place in the past; they are those I have yet to create

Her smile is like summer moonlight-beautiful and magical, with a fire that could melt the night

Tony’s Kiss

Is like no other kiss, ever.
It wants, but does not demand.
It asks, but doesn’t take.
It gives, and pleads for more.
It is filled with desire,
but also curiosity,
and it teaches me that a kiss should
come gift wrapped, not stripped naked. Most of all,
it makes me want another kiss
exactly like this one.”

Quotes
You only get one life. It’s actually your duty to live it as fully as possible.”
Push yourself. Don’t Settle. Just live well. Just LIVE.”

All I can say is that you make me… you make me into someone I couldn’t even imagine. You make me happy, even when you’re awful. I would rather be with you – even the you that you seem to think is diminished – than with anyone else in the world.”

Hey Clark’, he said.’Tell me something good’. I stared out of the window at the bright-blue Swiss sky and I told him a story of two people. Two people who shouldn’t have met, and who didn’t like each other much when they did, but who found they were the only two people in the world who could possibly have understood each other. And I told him of the adventures they had, the places they had gone, and the things I had seen that I had never expected to. I conjured for him electric skies and iridescent seas and evenings full of laughter and silly jokes. I drew a world for him, a world far from a Swiss industrial estate, a world in which he was still somehow the person he had wanted to be. I drew the world he had created for me, full of wonder and possibility.

“I turned in my seat. Will’s face was in shadow and I couldn’t quite make it out.
‘Just hold on. Just for a minute.’
‘Are you all right?’ I found my gaze dropping towards his chair, afraid some part of him was pinched, or trapped, that I had got something wrong.
‘I’m fine. I just . . . ’
I could see his pale collar, his dark suit jacket a contrast against it.
‘I don’t want to go in just yet. I just want to sit and not have to think about . . . ’ He swallowed.
Even in the half-dark it seemed effortful.
‘I just . . . want to be a man who has been to a concert with a girl in a red dress. Just for a few minutes more.’
I released the door handle.
‘Sure.’
I closed my eyes and lay my head against the headrest, and we sat there together for a while longer, two people lost in remembered music, half hidden in the shadow of a castle on a moonlit hill.”

I kissed him, trying to bring him back. I kissed him and let my lips rest against his so that our breath mingled and the tears from my eyes became salt on his skin, and I told myself that, somewhere, tiny particles of him would become tiny particles of me, ingested, swallowed, alive, perpetual. I wanted to press every bit of me against him. I wanted to will something into him. I wanted to give him every bit of life I felt and force him to live.”

“Sometimes , Clark, you are pretty much the only thing that makes me want to get up in the morning

“You know, you would never have let those breasts so close to me if I weren’t in a wheelchair,’ he murmured.
I looked back at him steadily. ‘You would never have looked at my breasts if you hadn’t been in a wheelchair.’
‘What? Of course I would.’
‘Nope. You would have been far too busy looking at the tall blonde girls with the endless legs and the big hair, the ones who can smell an expense account at forty paces. And anyway, I wouldn’t have been here. I would have been serving the drinks over there. One of the invisibles.’
He blinked.
‘Well? I’m right, aren’t I?’
Will glanced over at the bar, then back at me. ‘Yes. But in my defense, Clark, I was an arse.”

Book Review: The raven boys Maggie stiefvater

The Raven Boys (The Raven Cycle, #1)The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

March 15 -May 20

“There are only two reasons a non-seer would see a spirit on St. Mark’s Eve,” Neeve said. “Either you’re his true love . . . or you killed him.”

It is freezing in the churchyard, even before the dead arrive.

Every year, Blue Sargent stands next to her clairvoyant mother as the soon-to-be dead walk past. Blue herself never sees them—not until this year, when a boy emerges from the dark and speaks directly to her.

His name is Gansey, and Blue soon discovers that he is a rich student at Aglionby, the local private school. Blue has a policy of staying away from Aglionby boys. Known as Raven Boys, they can only mean trouble.

But Blue is drawn to Gansey, in a way she can’t entirely explain. He has it all—family money, good looks, devoted friends—but he’s looking for much more than that. He is on a quest that has encompassed three other Raven Boys: Adam, the scholarship student who resents all the privilege around him; Ronan, the fierce soul who ranges from anger to despair; and Noah, the taciturn watcher of the four, who notices many things but says very little.

For as long as she can remember, Blue has been warned that she will cause her true love to die. She never thought this would be a problem. But now, as her life becomes caught up in the strange and sinister world of the Raven Boys, she’s not so sure anymore.

Review- Blue Sarget is the only one in her family who isn’t a physic but she makes things stronger for other physics on all st eves she sees a spirt named Gansey and if a non – seer sees a spirt on all st eve it means she’s either his true love or she killed him .
Gansey is looking for Glendower a welsh king who if you wake up you get a wish. Gansey and his friends Adam , Ronan ,and Noah are looking for him Adam calls a physic because Gansey heard his voice on a recorder . When Blue goes to work she gets a call Gansey is coming in for his reading . Then Blue meets a guy who tells her she should talk to his friend cause he likes her Blue isn’t a fan of this guy cause he’s a raven boy and rich and that guy is Gansey and then Roanan and his brother are getting into a fight . Ronan found his father when he was killed and Ronan became different . Adam goes to talk to blue to talk about what happened at Ninos and Blue gives Adam her number . Blue has a curse if she kisses her true loves he dies . Adam has a rough home life his father beats him and he doesn’t want Gansey to own him . They all go to the physic appointment and Blue is shocked when it’s “President cellphone ” thats what she calls Gansey the reading was very intense . Blue’s mom doesn’t want Blue to be around those guys but blue can’t not help . Adam sends Blue flowers and they go out with everyone in a helicopter to search for the ley lines . They find this place in the woods and its creepy as hell . Welk is trying to find Glendower also and when he hears Gansey has been looking he isn’t to happy Welk lost a friend seven years ago when he was doing a ritual. Ronan one night is missing from his room and Gansey finds him at a church with his new pet Raven that he named Chainsaw. Blue likes Adam a lot but she hasn’t told him she can’t kiss him and when in the woods she has maybe a vision of her and Gansey . I loved this book a lot more than Maggie stievater other book shiver it’s a very magical and beautiful book . Noah is a character that weirded me out a little I felt like he was hiding something and oh he was Gansey and blue find a dead body and a car and the licences was Noah’s OH MY GOD I was freaking out Noah’s a ghost and Welk killed him and he tried to kill Gansey . Ronan Dropped Adam off at home and Adam’s father starts beating him up and Ronan comes in and beats his father up and then the cops come and he can’t let Ronan go to jail cause of this so he tells the cops and goes to Momemth . Blue comes over and Noah explains to everyone what happened . Noah died seven years ago and seven years ago Gansey almost died when he got stung by bees and he heard a voice telling him he was going to find Glendower. Adam goes to be the sacrifice he takes his gun to welk and shit goes down Welk gets killed Adam wakes the ley lines and Ronan says he made Chainsaw from his dreams oh my god I loved this book I love the characters this book was amazing .
Quotes:
Blue tried not to look at Gansey’s boat shoes ; she felt better about him as a person if she pretend he wasn’t wearing them .

we have to be back in three hours , Ronan said I just fed chainsaw but she’ll need it again. This , gansey replied is precisely why I didn’t want to have a baby with you .”

I thought we were clear that night was for sleeping Ronan shrugged . perhaps for you not tonight . your pterodactyl woke me . why is it making that sound

“Her name’s Chainsaw,” replied Ronan, without looking up. Then: “Noah. You’re creepy as hell back there.”

“I found it.”
“People find pennies,” Gansey replied. “Or car keys. Or four-leaf clovers.”
“And ravens,” Ronan said. “You’re just jealous ’cause” – at this point, he had to stop to regroup his beer-sluggish thoughts – “you didn’t find one, too.”

If we go that way, it seems less like we’ll be shot for trespassing. We can’t be low profile because of your shirt.”
“Aquamarine is a wonderful color, and I won’t be made to feel bad for wearing it,” Gansey said. But his voice was a bit thin, and he glanced back at the church again. Just then he looked younger than she’d ever seen him, his eyes narrowed, hair messed up, features unstudied. Young and, strangely enough, afraid.
Blue thought: I can’t tell him. I can never tell him. I have to just try to stop it from happening.
Then Gansey, suddenly charming again, flipped a hand in the direct of her purple tunic dress. “Lead the way, Eggplant.”
She found a stick to poke at the ground for snakes before they set off through the grass. The wind smelled like rain, and the ground rumbled with thunder, but the weather held. The machine in Gansey’s hands blinked red constantly, only flickering to orange when they stepped too far away from the invisible line.
“Thanks for coming, Jane,” Gansey said.
Blue shot him a dirty look. “You’re welcome, Dick.”
He looked pained. “Please don’t.”

Did you get notes for me?”
“No”, Ronan replied,”I thought you were dead in a ditch.”

Oh! Your hand is cold.” Ashley cupped her fingers against her shirt to warm them.
“I’ve been dead for seven years,” Noah said. “That’s as warm as they get.”

What’s going on with your face, by the way?”
Gansey rubbed his chin, rueful. His skin felt reluctantly stubbled. He knew he was being diverted, but he allowed it. “Is it growing?”
“Dude, you aren’t really going to do that beard thing, are you? I thought you were joking. You know that stopped being cool in the fourteen century or whenever it was that Paul Bunyan lived.” Ronan looked over his shoulder at him. He was sporting the five o’clock shadow that he was capable of growing at any time of the day. “Just stop. You look mangy.”
“It’s irrelevant. It’s not growing. I’m doomed to be a man-child.”
“If you keep saying things like ‘man-child,’ we’re done,” Ronan said. “Hey, man. Don’t let it get you down. Once your balls drop, that beard’ll come in great.”

Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Verdict : Beautiful and sad
September 10 2014-March 11 2016

Danger and betrayal, secrets and enchantment in the breathtaking conclusion to the Infernal Devices trilogy.

Tessa Gray should be happy – aren’t all brides happy?
Yet as she prepares for her wedding, a net of shadows begins to tighten around the Shadowhunters of the London Institute.
A new demon appears, one linked by blood and secrecy to Mortmain, the man who plans to use his army of pitiless automatons, the Infernal Devices, to destroy the Shadowhunters. Mortmain needs only one last item to complete his plan. He needs Tessa. And Jem and Will, the boys who lay equal claim to Tessa’s heart, will do anything to save her.

Review- That last book in the series was beautiful I cried so much in this book Tessa is engaged to Jem now I knew this book was going to tear out my heart and stomp on it and it did in many ways . When Gabriel comes and tells everyone his father is a worm the demon pox took over they go to fight and Tessa is still wearing her wedding dress Cecily is such a bad ass she jumps on the worm and Gabriel ends up killing it . The counsel goes to Gabriel and Gideon and asks them to spy on Charlotte what an asshole they don’t do it . Mortimain ends up buying all the yin fein so this could kill Jem and he doesn’t want anyone looking for a cure again he ends up throwing the rest of what he has away . oh the scene where Jem and will first met was so adorable . Quotes-
You don’t think I can fight.” Tessa said, drawing back and matching his silvery gaze with her own. “Because I’m a girl.”
“I don’t think you can fight because you’re wearing a wedding dress”, said Jem. “For what it’s worth, I don’t think Will could fight in that dress either.”
“Perhaps not,” said Will, who had ears like a bat'”But I would make a radiant bride.”

Life is a book, and there are a thousand pages I have not read. I would read them together with you, as many as I can, before I die -”
She put her hand against his chest, just over his heart, and felt its beat against her palm, a unique time signature that was all its own. “I only wish you would not speak of dying,” she said. “But even for that, yes, I know how you are with your words, and, Will- I love all of them. Every word you say. The silly ones, the mad ones, the beautiful ones, and the ones that are only for me. I love them, and I love you.”

“They say you cannot love two people equally at once,” she said. “And perhaps for others that is so. But you and Will—you are not like two ordinary people, two people who might have been jealous of each other, or who would have imagined my love for one of them diminished by my love of the other. You merged your souls when you were both children. I could not have loved Will so much if I had not loved you as well. And I could not love you as I do if I had not loved Will as I did.”

Five,’ she said. Her lips and cheeks were flushed, but her gaze was steady.
‘Five?’ Gabriel echoed blankly.
‘My rating,’ she said, and smiled at him. ‘Your skill and technique may, perhaps, require work, but the native talent is certainly there. What you require is practice.’
‘And you are willing to be my tutor?’
‘I should be very insulted if you chose another,’ Cecily said, and leaned up to kiss him again.”

A very magnanimous statement, Gideon,” said Magnus.
“I’m Gabriel.”
Magnus waved a hand. “All Lightwoods look the same to me.”

It’s all very romantic , Gabriel said , and then frowned . Or it would be , if my brother could get a word out without sounding like a choking frog . I fear he will go down in history as one the world’s great wooers of woman .

So you are dying for Love then , Will said finally his voice sounded constricted to his own ears . Dying a little faster for love . And there are worse things to die for

With her survival hanging by a thread, Senna soon realizes this is a game. A dangerous one. Only the truth can set her free.

Review- This book has giving me a emotional book hangover . What if love was put to the test ?
When Senna Richards wakes up in the middle of no where with no memory of how she got there she looks around and finds Isaac who is from her past . This is all a game which they have to solve Senna has to dig into her past they are locked in a house with limited food and heat This book was amazing the writing is beautiful I love Issac he’s a doctor who use to be a drummer and he has very interesting tattoo’s he says things that are so beautiful . I was racking my brain to understand who would put them there and why and I couldn’t figure it out . They figured out the code and were able to go outside not that it did any good with an electrical fence . We go into Senna’s past when she met Isaac in very bad way Senna was raped on Christmas and as she was running out of the woods she meets Isaac . Isaac becomes her “Friend” Senna doesn’t have friends for reasons but he takes care of her helps her eat gets her to leave her place when she’s to scared to . Then Senna goes to the doctor and finds out she has breast cancer she finds comfort in Isaac and she goes to a therapist and talks about her past and her ex boyfriend Nick he’s a writer they went out for awhile until Nick didn’t want her anymore Isaac reads Nick’s book to her it’s like one big love letter to Senna she couldn’t read the entire thing cause she doesn’t like living in the past and Nick is her past . Senna starts having dreams of the rapist and Isaac comforts her . Issac’s tattoo’s are amazing he believes that soul mate and a love of your life is completely different cause one is a choice and one isn’t he tells Senna he loves her when they go to the carousel and they have sex but then Senna files a restraining order on him WTF . Nick’s book is about Senna telling his side of the story and I loved hearing about it he told Senna that she has a mud vein . Back in the present they can go outside but they can’t leave they are trapped the power goes out and Isaac almost dies twice I was crying so much in this book . They end up having sex on the table where Senna finds a well with more food but she breaks her leg . On Christmas they get the gift of power back and a box with her book Nick’s book and her mom’s book . Isaac get’s really sick and I was sure he was going to die and I crying and freaking out until the zookeeper shows up and it turns out to be a woman her therapist I didn’t see that coming but she says her goodbye to him and she takes him to a hospital they find Senna and take her back Senna wants to talk to the dragon and asks her why other than she was crazy . She gets in contact with Nick and they talk and she’s not in love with him anymore she has Cancer again and she’s going to die she goes to see Isaac and he tells her he’s in love with her she leaves town but gets a gift from Isaac another mix tape and she sends him a letter I loved this book I could say so much more it’s just a beautiful fucked up book.
Quotes-
What’s the difference ? I asked him . ” Between the love of your life and your soulmate? one is a choice and one is not .

People lie . They use you and they lie , all they while feeding you bullshit about being loyal and never leaving you. No one can make that promise , because life is about season , and seasons change . I hate change . You can’t rely on it , you can only rely on the fact it will happen . But before it does , and before you learn , you feel good about their stupid bullshit promises . You choose to believe them , because you need to . You go through a warm summer where everything is beautiful and there are no clouds – just warmth , warmth , warmth . You believe in a person’s permanence because humans have a tendency to stick to you when life is good . I call them honey summers . I’ve had enough honey summers in life to know that people leave you when winter comes . When life frosts you over and you’e shivering and layering on as much protection as you can just to survive . you don’t even notice it at first . The cold makes you too numb to see clearly . Then all of a sudden you look up and the snow is starting to melt , and you realize you spent the winter alone . That makes me mad as hell / Mad enough to leave people before they left me . That’s what I did with Nick . That’s what I tried to do with Isaac . Except he wouldn’t leave He stayed all winter .

Tell me a truth, Senna.”
“I don’t know how.”
“Then tell me a lie.”
“I don’t love you.”
“The truth is for the mind,” he says. “Lies are for the heart. So let’s just keep lying.”

There is a string that connects us that is not visible to the eye. Maybe every person has more than one soul they are connected to, and all over the world there are those invisible strings… Maybe the chances that you’ll find each and every one of your soul mates is slim. But sometimes you’re lucky enough to stumble across one. And you feel a tug. And it’s not so much a choice to love them though their flaws and through your differences, but rather you love them without even trying. You love their flaws.”

I dropped my eyes into his hand and snuck another look at the tattoos words —- I could just make out the tip of them . My eyes slid up the sleeves of his shirt and rested on his neck . I didn’t want to look in his eyes when I handed him my keys . A doctor who loved words. Imagine that.
I was curious . What did a man who had held a screaming woman all night have written on his body ?
That’s why writers write—to say things loudly with ink. To give feet to thoughts; to make quiet, still feelings loudly heard.”

“Love doesn’t leave. It bears all things”
