February 25- May 5
There are two sides to every love story. Now hear Will’s.

Colleen Hoover’s New York Times bestselling Slammed series has brought countless readers to their knees with a whirlwind of love, passion, and heartache.

Layken and Will’s love has managed to withstand the toughest of circumstances and the young lovers, now married, are beginning to feel safe and secure in their union. As much as Layken relishes their new life together, she finds herself wanting to know everything there is to know about her husband, even though Will makes it clear he prefers to keep the painful memories of the past where they belong. Still, he can’t resist his wife’s pleas and so he begins to untangle his side of the story, revealing for the first time his most intimate feelings and thoughts, retelling both the good and bad moments, and sharing a few shocking confessions of his own from the time when they first met.

In This Girl, Will tells the story of their complicated relationship from his point of view. Their future rests on how well they deal with the past in this final installment of the beloved Slammed series.

THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS !

Review- I think this may be my second favorite of the series I loved this one so much hearing from Will’s POV from slammed .While their on there honeymoon was so cute there were some sad points though like when his ex girlfriend dumped him she was a bitch in point of retreat and she was in this girl . I loved seeing him see lake for the first time from his POV it was so sweet I loved him even more in this book especially the ending when they were in the car and listening to the Avett brothers who I now love and will is like it better not be Nicklback I was laughing . And when they went to the slam I loved the “Really long poem ” it was very good and when he kept the chocolate milk on the rocks it was so sweet .And we also find out that Gavin knew all along I think I love Gavin way more now cause he had to put up with Will though all of this . And the kiss awww so sweet and then it goes down hill down from there when he find out he’s her teacher. It was so bad and even hearing again was bad I read this one with audiobook and it made it even better I liked hearing from the honeymoon way better sometimes. Like when they agreed never to carve pumpkins with each other good .And the scene in the pool oh my god I really loved seeing what hell will was going though that it wasn’t easy for him and him finding out Julia has cancer I was crying more and when he preformed “This Girl ” one of my favorite poems he has done I mean other than the one about the Lake oh my god. When he confesses his feeling and she’s ‘kissing’ Javi and he wanted to kill him oh I wanted to also oh god and the moment of weakness come on will I know he wants to give her time when he was judging at the slam and she came up oh my freaking god he was like she loves me she loves me . I think the most awkward scene was the scene when Julia caught them together oh god but everything about this book was amazing. when they go home and celebrate with everyone and kirsten tells the boys about sex I’m laughing. And oh Eddie and Gavin are engaged so sweet the epilogue Lake is having her daughter and they name her Julia Kel gives will a letter from Julia it was so sweet it made me cry and Will does his final piece such a great series I loved everything about this series the characters the poems and the romance .

Quotes-
my final piece
We’re born into the world
As just one small piece to the puzzle
That makes up an entire life.
It’s up to us throughout our years,
to find all of our pieces that fit.
The pieces that connect who we are
To who we were
To who we’ll one day be.
Sometimes pieces will almost fit.
They’ll feel right.
We’ll carry them around for a while,
Hoping they’ll change shape.
Hoping they’ll conform to our puzzle.
But they won’t.
We’ll eventually have to let them go.
To find the puzzle that is their home.
Sometimes pieces won’t fit at all.
No matter how much we want them to.
We’ll shove them.
We’ll bend them.
We’ll break them.
But what isn’t meant to be,
won’t be.
Those are the hardest pieces of all to
accept.
The pieces of our puzzle
That just don’t belong.
But occasionally . . .
Not very often at all,
If we’re lucky,
If we pay enough attention,
We’ll find a
perfect match.
The pieces of the puzzle that slide right in
The pieces that hug the contours of our own
pieces.
The pieces that lock to us.
The pieces that we lock to.
The pieces that fit so well, we can’t tell
where our piece begins
And that piece ends.
Those pieces we call
Friends.
True loves.
Dreams.
Passions.
Beliefs.
Talents.
They’re all the pieces that complete our
puzzles.
They line the edges,
Frame the corners,
Fill the centers,
Those pieces are the pieces that make us
who we are.
Who we were.
Who we’ll one day be.
Up until today,
When I looked at my own puzzle,
I would see a finished piece.
I had the edges lined,
The corners framed,
The center filled.
It felt like it was complete.
All the pieces were there.
I had everything I wanted.
Everything I needed.
Everything I dreamt of.
But up until today,
I realized I had collected all
but one piece.
The most vital piece.
The piece that completes the picture.
The piece that completes my whole life.
I held this girl in my arms
She wrapped her tiny fingers around mine.
It was then that I realized
She was the fusion.
The glue.
The cement that bound all my pieces
together.
The piece that seals my puzzle.
The piece that completes my life.
The element that makes me who I am.
Who I was.
Who I’ll one day be.
You, baby girl.
You’re my final piece.”

“I wish I could explain how I feel, but nothing can explain this moment. Not a vase of stars. Not a book. Not a song. Not even a poem. Nothing can explain the moment when the woman you would give your life for sees her daughter for the very first time.”

“It’s not your bra. It’s our bra and I want it off.” I slip it off her, pulling her against me as I rub my hands down the length of her back, then around to the button on the front of her jeans. “And I want to take off our pants.”

She grins against my lips and slowly nods. “Okay, but hurry,” she whispers.

“I can be quick,” I assure her. “But I’ll never hurry.”

This poem is very long
So long, in fact, that your attention span
May be stretched to its very limits
But that’s okay
It’s what’s so special about poetry
See, poetry takes time
We live in a time
Call it our culture or society
It doesn’t matter to me cause neither one rhymes
A time where most people don’t want to listen
Our throats wait like matchsticks waiting to catch fire
Waiting until we can speak
No patience to listen

But this poem is long
It’s so long, in fact, that during the time of this poem
You could’ve done any number of other wonderful things
You could’ve called your father
Call your father
You could be writing a postcard right now
Write a postcard
When was the last time you wrote a postcard?
You could be outside
You’re probably not too far away from a sunrise or a sunset
Watch the sun rise
Maybe you could’ve written your own poem
A better poem
You could have played a tune or sung a song
You could have met your neighbor
And memorized their name
Memorize the name of your neighbor
You could’ve drawn a picture
(Or, at least, colored one in)
You could’ve started a book
Or finished a prayer
You could’ve talked to God
Pray
When was the last time you prayed?
Really prayed?

This is a long poem
So long, in fact, that you’ve already spent a minute with it
When was the last time you hugged a friend for a minute?
Or told them that you love them?
Tell your friends you love them

…no, I mean it, tell them

Say, I love you

Say, you make life worth living
Because that, is what friends do
Of all of the wonderful things that you could’ve done
During this very, very long poem
You could have connected
Maybe you are connecting
Maybe we’re connecting
See, I believe that the only things that really matter
In the grand scheme of life are God and people
And if people are made in the image of God
Then when you spend your time with people
It’s never wasted
And in this very long poem
I’m trying to let a poem do what a poem does:
Make things simpler
We don’t need poems to make things more complicated
We have each other for that
We need poems to remind ourselves of the things that really matter
To take time
A long time
To be alive for the sake of someone else for a single moment
Or for many moments

Cause we need each other

To hold the hands of a broken person
All you have to do is meet a person
Shake their hand
Look in their eyes

They are you

We are all broken together
But these shattered pieces of our existence don’t have to be a mess
We just have to care enough to hold our tongues sometimes
To sit and listen to a very long poem
A story of a life
The joy of a friend and the grief of friend
To hold and be held
And be quiet

So, pray
Write a postcard
Call your parents and forgive them and then thank them
Turn off the TV
Create art as best as you can
Share as much as possible, especially money
Tell someone about a very long poem you once heard
And how afterward it brought you to them”

Oh my God!” Julia yells. “Are you kidding me, Will? Don’t help her put her clothes back on! I’m standing right here!”

What the hell am I thinking?”

This girl. This baby girl is my life. Her mother is my life. These girls are both my life.

Mouthful of Forevers by Clementine von Radics
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Book review – Mouthful of forevers Titled after the poem that burned up on Tumblr and has inspired wedding vows, paintings, songs, YouTube videos, and even tattoos among its fans, Mouthful of Forevers brings the first substantial collection of this gifted young poet’s work to the public.Clementine von Radics writes of love, loss, and the uncertainties and beauties of life with a ravishing poetic voice and piercing bravura that speak directly not only to the sensibility of her generation, but to anyone who has ever been young.

Review -I loved this one these poems are beautiful and heartbreaking I really recommend you pick this up . Quote -I think I like my brain bestin a bar fight with my heart.I think I like myself a little broken, with rough edges, a little harderto grasp. Home by Clementine Von Radics Home is a collection of snapshots. Part narrative poetry, part memoir, and wholly unusual, it is an honest, messy, beautiful, at times brutal account of navigating collective living, sex, love, fear, and self-discovery as a young artist.I found most of her poems on tumblr and found out she wrote a book and picked both of them up I read all of them and I connected so much to her words I loved them you have to pick her work up .- Christina

Review- The second and last book made me laugh and cry at the same time I loved seeing Andrew and Camryn engaged happy and Camryn pregnant . Everything was going so well they are having a girl they are living in Galveston but Camryn isn’t happy there so they are heading back to Camryns home and they are going to look for a place to live . They have a kind of baby shower and Camryn is having pains and I felt like something bad is going to happen I just knew it and it did she lost the baby. I cried for her and Andrew is vey gental with her and Camryn doesn’t like that and then Camryn starts using pills and they go visit Adain and Michelle and it looks like Adain and Michelle are having problems all they do is work which kind of sucks . But Camryn and Andrew play at Adians bar they have a great time and then Andrew find out about the pills and then Andrew gets Asher to drive Andrew’s car down so they can go on there roadtrip which Camryn was reluctant of because of loosing Lilly but they go and it was some time. There was a crazy time like a really fucked up crazy . They go from winter through summer florida was a fucked up place they party with some people and it was fine and then they get drugged and some weird ass things go down like sexual things. And the next morning Andrew punches the hell out of people and they deserve it the only two normal people were the ones that helped them they leave Florida . But Andrew is still mad at himself cause he was sapose to protect Camryn he punches a tree. They head to new Orleans where everything started between them they go to the bar where they played Barton hall where they find out eddie died sad and they go to the bar where they played pool it was so great to relive some of those memories . They headed to Galveston to visit his mom and they get married eeek they head back to camryns home they find a place and it’s a small cute place Andrew gets headache’s again and I’m worried as much as Camryn so they go to the doctor and everything is okay but he still needs to be checked up on and it was an amazing book I loved every bit of it . I loved seeing flashbacks from the first book so cute . Camryn and Andrew finally had there baby they named her Lilly everything is great I loved how it ended with Lily at graduation that was so cool . This story was amazing these two books are with me forever .

Quotes-
I really do forget about everything . Because that’s what a moment like this does to you. It makes you feel something so small inside of something so massive that it’s beyond comprehension . It strips away all of your problems , all of your hardships , all of your worldly needs and wants and desires , forcing you to realize just how insignificant all of it really is . It’s like the Earth becomes completely silent and still, and all that your mind can understand or feel is the vastness of the universe and you gasp thinking about your place within it .
Who needs psychiatrists ? Who needs grief counselors and life coaches and motivational speakers ? Fuck all of that . just stare at the night sky and let yourself get lost in it every now and then.
page 277

“Our story is over, yes, but our journey isn’t, because we’ll always live on the edge until the day we die.”

I guess sometimes the greatest memories are made in the most unlikely of places, further proof that spontaneity is more rewarding than a meticulously planned life.

You’re like a philosopher with tattoos.”

“Dear Camryn,
I know you’re scared. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little scared, too, but I have to believe that this time around everything will be fine. And it will be.
We’ve been through so much together. More than most people in such a short time. But no matter what, the one thing that has never changed is that we’re still together. Death couldn’t take me away from you. Weakness couldn’t make me look at you in a bad light. Drugs and all the shit that comes with them couldn’t take you away from me. I think it’s more safe to say that we’re indestructable.
Maybe all of this has been a test. Yeah, I think about that a lot and I’ve convinced myself of it. A lot of people take Fate for granted. Some have everything they’ve ever wanted right at their fingertips, but they abuse it. Others walk right past their only opportunity because they never open their eyes long enough to see that it’s there. But you and I, even before we met, took all the risks, made our own decisions without listening to everybody around us telling us, in so many ways, that what we’re doing is wrong. Hell no, we did it our way, no matter how reckless, or crazy or unconventional. It’s like the more we pushed and the more we fought, the harder the obstacles. Because we had to prove we were the real deal.
And I know we’ve done just that.
Camryn, I want you to read this letter to yourself once a week. It doesn’t matter what day or what time, just read it. Every time you open it, I want you to see that another week has passed and you’re still pregnant. That I’m still in good health. That we’re still together. I want you to think about the three of us, you, me and our son or daughter, traveling Europe and Soth America. Because we’re going to do it. I promise you that.
You’re everything to me, and I want you to stay strong and not let your fear of the past taint the path to our future. Everything will work out this time, Camryn, everything will, I swear to you.
Just trust me.
Until next week…
Love,
Andrew”

“Today is the first day of the rest of our lives. It’s a special day, for Lily, for us, for everything the three of us stand for. Our story is over, yes, but our journey isn’t, because we’ll always live on the edge until the day we die.”

“For anyone who has ever had a moment of weakness. It won’t be painful forever, so don’t let it get the best of you.”

“I just became Camryn Parrish

Review – 20 year old camryn Bennett has been though allot her boyfriend Ian died her other boyfriend cheated on her , her brother is in jail for killing someone in a drunk driving accident and her father cheated on her mother and they got divorced I mean that’s allot for one person . So after at bad night at a club where mostly Camry’s best friend’s boyfriend tries to force himself on her and when Camryn tries to tell Natalie she doesn’t believe her so Camryn just gets on a bus and goes . And then this is where me meet Andrew Parish who is my new book boyfriend like oh my god this guy is amazing he sings he has tattoos he plays guitar and abs hahah . Now Andrew is on the bus to see his dying father but when Camryn tells Andrew to lower is his music sparks right away I wanted them to be together I liked them when they were just friends Andrew is so protective of Camryn . They spend all this bus ride getting to know each other but without really giving out anything personal .until Andrew’s last ride where I was really sad I was like how are they going to be together now and then this creep in the bathroom almost rapes Camryn and she has a knife and I’m freaking out and then Andrew shows up and beats the crap out of this guy . And then Camryn tells Andrew the truth So Camryn and Andrew go visit his dad which I don’t think Andrew could handle then we meet his brothers I kind of found it funny that all of them start with an A Adian Andrew and Asher and Andrew’s father asks if she’s his Eurydice which is a Greek myth and Andrew has the tattoo and it stops at one place he says if he ever gets married he wants the other half I thought that was adorable so him .Aand Cameryn hit the road and Andrew wants Cameryn to live to really experience life . There were allot of messages in this book that I loved I just want everyone to read this . There were some sexy times in this book and I thought they were nice but Andrew refused to sleep with Cameryn for stupid reason . And Cameryn told Andrew that she doesn’t think she really loved Ian that there is a difference with love and being in love and that when she’s with him she doesn’t think about him anymore and she thanked him for feeling alive for the first time. Yeah this book tore my heart apart but it did make me laugh at times. when Andrew’s father died I was sobbing cause they were crying and Andrew wants to leave Cameryn and I’m like Andrew just stop NO WAY he writes her a letter but she’s there and he yells at her just tell me how you feel and she did and it was beautiful and then they sleep together . They also preform at bars and it was amazing now when they get to Texas Cameryn is worried that this will be the end but Andrew wants to travel the world together . He introduces her to his mom so sweet and then we find out he has a brain tumor and i’m like NO NO NO he can’t die and I’m sobbing and cameryn doesn’t know . And then he has a seizure and I’m like oh crap no no no he goes the the hospitable and Asher is there and tells Cameryn about the tumor and he says it doesn’t look good and then she calls Natalile to come and she does and he gets the surgery but he falls into a coma and he might not come out and I’m sobbing again and then his mom gives camryn this letter . And it broke me and then it goes to two months later and I was so worried cause she was at a grave but Andrew is okay and she got the tattoo to match his and she’s pregnant and he asked her to marry him and oh my god this is amazing this is one of my favorite books ever I’m onto the last one now .
Quotes-
I learned a long time ago that it’s my future and my life and I can’t make myself live the way someone else wants me to live . page 70

Just that dwelling and is bullshit he says . You dwell on the past , you can’t move forward . Spend too much time planning for the future and you just push yourself backwards , or you can stay stagnant in the same place all your life . His eyes lock on mine live in the moment he says as if making a serious point , where everything is just right , take your time and limit your bad memories and you’ll get wherever it is your going a lot faster and with less bumps in the road along the way. page 90

“I know you lost your partner in crime, but…I want YOU to be MINE. Maybe WE should travel the world together, Camryn…I know I can’t replace your ex–”
“Andrew…it was always you.”

He’s gawking at me when I open the door.
Damn girl he says looking me over , what the hell are you trying to do to me ? I look down at myself , still trying to wake up the rest of the way and realize I’m in those tiny cotton white shirts and varsity tee with no bra on underneath. Oh my god , my nipples are like beacons shining through my shirt! I cross my arms over my chest and try not to look him in the eyes when he helps himself the rest of the way inside. I was going to tell you go get dressed , he goes on grinning as he walks into the room carrying his bags and the guitar, but really , you can just go like that if you want . I shake my head , hiding the smile creeping up on my face .

Uh , there is no way -. I notice his grin has changed into something more ‘crafty school boy ‘ and I look down , realizing my arms are no longer covering my nipples poking so proudly through the thin fabric of my shirt . I let out a spat of air and my mouth falls open . Andrew!
He lowers his head with false shame , but it just makes him appear more devious the way he looks back up under hooded eyes at me .
He is so fucking hot…
Hey you’re the one who’d rather complain about the ground rules than protect your girls from my eyes- I should warn you they have a mind of their own .
Yeah I bet they aren’t the only things on you with a mind of their own.
Page 167
“The Heart always wins out over the mind, The heart, although reckless and suicidal and masochist all on its own, always gets it way. The mind may be what’s best, but I don’t give a shit what my mind is telling me anymore. Right now, I want to live in the moment.”

“Y’know, I’ve always hated that expression: Others have it worse than you do; I guess if you want to look at it in a competitive way, sure, give me welfare over blindness any day, but it’s not a fucking competition. Right?”
Is he asking me because he wants to know how I feel, or was that his way of telling me how it is
and hoping I get it?
I just nod.
“Pain is pain, babe.” Every time he calls me ‘babe’ I notice it more than anything else he says.

Book Review: pandemonium lauren Oliver

Pandemonium (Delirium, #2)Pandemonium by Lauren Oliver
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Read from March 19- April 19
The old life is dead.

But the old Lena is dead too.

I buried her.

I left her beyond a fence, behind a wall of smoke and flame.

In this electrifying follow-up to her acclaimed New York Times bestseller Delirium, Lauren Oliver sets Lena on a dangerous course that hurtles through the unregulated Wilds and into the heart of a growing resistance movement. This riveting, brilliant novel crackles with the fire of fierce defiance, forbidden romance, and the sparks of a revolution about to ignite.

Review – Oh my god So I loved Delirium I read it last summer and loved the premise of it I did have a hard time to the start it was a little slow but then it got very good so I did enjoy that it was told in then and now for Lena so when we first see Lena she is running and then we meet raven and invalid who saves Lena . Lena was going though allot losing Alex knowing her entire life was a lie . there were some characters I’m still not sure about Raven she thinks one way which isn’t always right . Tack I don’t really know anything really about him. Lena is going through the motions in the wilds and now she’s in New York posing as a cured girl and she meets Julian fineman the son of Thomas fineman who is the head of the DFA when Lena is going to the big meeting for the DFA the scavengers attack scavengers aren’t like invalids they are bad and crazy. She gets taken by the scavengers and put with Julian I wasn’t sure about Julian but I grew to like him him and Lena started to connect and Julian tells Lena about his brother who was against his father and died because of his father lets just put it this way Julian’s father is freaking evil . All the cured are the people in the wilds call them zombies and that is very true so Julian and Lena are stuck in this kind of like a prison Julian gets attacked by the scavengers Lena tells him the truth and I was like Lena you really don’t know this guy how do you know he won’t do something but Julian and Lena escape they fight of scavengers they meet people who help them out and Lena finds them a spot for them to hide out until they are attacked . And Julian is taken and so is Lena then raven shows up she set up the kidnapping what the hell raven and Julian is going to be executed WTF I really started to like them together so Lena goes to save him without anyone which I thought was stupid. And then we find out Lena mom was the woman who took her oh my god so Lena gets to the hospitable and then shots are fired Raven . They get Julian out and the ending which I kind of saw coming Alex is alive I just want to say this book was awesome I am so looking forward to know what happens in the last book and how is Alex alive ? .
Quotes-
I have had to give up so much , so many selves and lives already . I have grown up and out of the rubble of my old lives , of the things and people I have cared for : My mom Grace . Hana . Alex .
and now Julian .
This is not who I wanted to be .
page 326

But…books are so much more. Some of them are webs; you can feel your way along their threads, but just barely, into strange and dark corners. Some of them are balloons bobbing up through the sky: totally self-contained, and unreachable, but beautiful to watch.
And some of them―the best ones―are doors.”

“Old words; words that nearly brought me to my knees.

Live free or die

Grief is like sinking, like being buried. I am in water tawny color of kicked up dirt Every breath is full of choking. there is nothing to hold on to, no sides, no way to claw myself up. there is nothing left to do but let go.

Everneath (Everneath, #1)Everneath by Brodi Ashton

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Book review- Everneath by Brodi Ashton Summary-
Last spring, Nikki Beckett vanished, sucked into an underworld known as the Everneath. Now she’s returned—to her old life, her family, her boyfriend—before she’s banished back to the underworld . . . this time forever. She has six months before the Everneath comes to claim her, six months for good-byes she can’t find the words for, six months to find redemption, if it exists.
 March  12-  29
Nikki longs to spend these precious months forgetting the Everneath and trying to reconnect with her boyfriend, Jack, the person most devastated by her disappearance—and the one person she loves more than anything. But there’s just one problem: Cole, the smoldering immortal who enticed her to the Everneath in the first place, has followed Nikki home. Cole wants to take over the throne in the underworld and is convinced Nikki is the key to making it happen. And he’ll do whatever it takes to bring her back, this time as his queen.

As Nikki’s time on the Surface draws to a close and her relationships begin slipping from her grasp, she is forced to make the hardest decision of her life: find a way to cheat fate and remain on the Surface with Jack or return to the Everneath and become Cole’s queen.

Review-

Nikki Bennett went to Everneath six months ago and and it felt like one hundred years Nikki escapes but the shade is after her she has six months to say goodbye to her family and to Jack her boyfriend who she left . Cole the everling she spent all that time with wants to make her his queen she would be immortal and wouldn’t have to go to the tunnels but she refuses to feed off people . What I loved about this book was the mythology the story itself was so engrossing I liked Cole yes I love my bad boy characters . I felt for Jack I wasn’t a fan of him at first but as the book went on I just wanted him to be happy. He went though allot when Nikki was gone . Nikki is trying to make her amends trying to keep Jack at a distance but he wants to know what happened . Cole is causing trouble bothering Nikki trying to convince her to be his queen . Her dad wants her work at the soup kitchen where she meets Mary a strange old woman talking about the sisters of Persephone . When Nikki goes to the dance cole’s band was playing and they started to affect people’s emotions and Nikki was in the paper . Nikki goes to jack and explains where she went her mark is getting bigger after she leaves jack that night Cole shows up in his Neal disguise Nikki explains about Cole that he can change his look . Nikki and Jack go to work at the soup kitchen and Mary is there Mary asks if Jack has forgiven Nikki which I thought was a weird connection until things started to connect Mary is Meredith a girl who was dating Maxwell .when she went to Everneeth she aged but Nikki didn’t because she had jack always thinking of her . When Mary was taken by the tunnels she told her about the bracelet so they looked at it and it had hieroglyphics on it they asked there teacher and a professor at a local college told them about it they were going for cole’s heart . And it was all set out destroy the guitar but it didn’t work he had the pick and the tunnels were for her but then jack goes in her place I was sobbing she can see jack in her dreams and she plans to get him back I loved this on I can’t want to know what happens next .

Book Review: Hera the Goddess and her glory George O’Connor

Hera: The Goddess and Her Glory (Olympians, #3)

Hera: The Goddess and Her Glory by George O’Connor
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Hera: The Goddess and her Glory by George O’ConnorMy rating: 4 of 5 starsThe story of Hera, Queen of the Gods, and the heroes who won her favor.Volume 3 of Olympians, Hera: The Goddess and Her Glory, introduces readers to the Queen of the Gods and Goddesses in the Pantheon. This volume tells the tales of the many heroes who sought and won Hera’s patronage, most notably Hercules. In Olympians, O’Connor draws from primary documents to reconstruct and retell classic Greek myths. But these stories aren’t sedate, scholarly works. They’re action-packed, fast-paced, high-drama adventures with monsters, romance, and not a few huge explosions. O’Connor’s vibrant, kinetic art brings ancient tales to undeniable life, in a perfect fusion of super-hero aesthetics and ancient Greek mythology. March 15-16

Review- This one was a really good one Hera isn’t my favorite goddess she is a little crazy but I did like the story of Hercules it was an interesting story I’m going to pick up the next two at the library .

Zeus: King of the Gods by George O’Connor
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Book review Zeus by george o’connor March 14-15Summary- George O’Connor is a Greek mythology buff and a classic superhero comics fan, and he’s out to remind us how much our pantheon of superheroes (Superman, Batman, the X-Men, etc) owes to mankind’s ORIGINAL superheroes: the Greek pantheon. In OLYMPIANS, O’Connor draws from primary documents to reconstruct and retell classic Greek myths. But these stories aren’t sedate, scholarly works. They’re action-packed, fast-paced, high-drama adventures, with monsters, romance, and not a few huge explosions. O’Connor’s vibrant, kinetic art brings ancient tales to undeniable life, in a perfect fusion of super-hero aesthetics and ancient Greek mythology.Volume 1 of OLYMPIANS, ZEUS: King OF THE GODS, introduces readers to the ruler of the Olympian Pantheon, telling his story from his boyhood to his ascendance to supreme power.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Fiery Heart by Richelle Mead
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Summary-
Sydney Sage is an Alchemist, one of a group of humans who dabble in magic and serve to bridge the worlds of humans and vampires. They protect vampire secrets – and human lives.

In The Indigo Spell, Sydney was torn between the Alchemist way of life and what her heart and gut were telling her to do. And in one breathtaking moment that Richelle Mead fans will never forget, she made a decision that shocked even her. . . .

But the struggle isn’t over for Sydney. As she navigates the aftermath of her life-changing decision, she still finds herself pulled in too many directions at once. Her sister Zoe has arrived, and while Sydney longs to grow closer to her, there’s still so much she must keep secret. Working with Marcus has changed the way she views the Alchemists, and Sydney must tread a careful path as she harnesses her profound magical ability to undermine the way of life she was raised to defend. Consumed by passion and vengeance, Sydney struggles to keep her secret life under wraps as the threat of exposure — and re-education — looms larger than ever.

Pulses will race throughout this smoldering fourth installment in the New York Times bestselling Bloodlines series, where no secret is safe.

THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS !

February 1- March 2

Review-
I loved this book so this book is told in both Sydney and Adrian’s point of view and I loved it that way but I was also afraid something big was going to happen and well it does I think this one is my favorite of them probably cause of the relationship with Sydney and Adrian . So Sydney’s sister Zoe is mostly like her father and I hate her there parents are getting a divorce wow shock there her father is trying to get a case against the mother saying she cheated on him what a jerk only because she wants Zoe to have a normal childhood . Sydney and Adrian have these love phones I was so afraid that something was going to happen with these phones at any minute and when they had the dinner with the father zoe just kept going on and on about well Sydney is always doing them favors I’m like Zoe shut up . Adrian had to go a visit this vampire that just got turned back from being strigoi adrian got her blood out cause they want to make sure no one gets to be a strigoi that way . Adrian and Sydney both go up to court with Neil Sydney almost get’s attacked by these asshole guys who want to dabble her which is mostly blood rape Adrian comes and saves her and beats one over the head with a tree branch cause of the whole spirit thing he’s cut out from spirit. They also tested this whole anti- striogi tattoo on Neil lets hope it works . when there car crashes and there close to freezing Sydney uses her magic for a fire they end up staying at a bed and breakfast and Sydney and Adrian finally have sex they end up being stuck there for three days I just wanted them both to be happy and rid of the evil alchemist. So they have to try this tatoo on someone and Sydney asks trey he wants to get back to Angeline anyway so Mrs. T boyfriend Wolf you know the guy with the dogs and helped Sydney and Adrian with self defense he’s the guy doing the tattoo he also has one eye which freaks out Trey . When they do it the second time Sydney has to do it and she sees if trey can be mind controlled and he can’t I just don’t understand why she didn’t do it to herself . So Neil wants to go hunt down these strigoi with Sydney you know cause she can use fire and I was just hoping this would work so they take Eddie . And the strigoi is older than they thought and then the guy bit Neil but he said he tasted bad so it does work and then Angeline and trey are there and Jill is also there the strigoi is dead and Eddie is yelling at Jill and then she kisses him awww . So I knew something bad was going to happen but when Adrian was waiting with Marcus and he also lost the Love phone I was like oh no something is going down and it did the alchemist took her and Adrian can’t get to her cause there is is block I can’t wait to know what happens in silver shadows .

Favorite Quotes-

Relax, having kids is years away. But can you imagine? Your brains, my charm, our collective good looks… then add in the usual physical abilities dhampirs get.

It’s really not even fair to everyone else.”

Rowena Clark and I had met on the first day of our mixed media class. I’d sat down at her table and said, “Mind if I join you? Figure the best way to learn about art is to sit with a masterpiece.” Maybe I was in love, but I was still Adrian Ivashkov.

Rowena had fixed me with a flat look. “Let’s get one thing straight. I can see through crap a mile away, and I like girls, not guys, so if you can’t handle me telling you what’s what, then you’d better take your one-liners and hair gel somewhere else. I don’t go to this school to put up with pretty boys like you. I’m here to face dubious employment options with a painting degree and then go get a Guinness after class.”

I’d scooted my chair closer to the table. “You and I are going to get along just fine.”

What’s up?” Christian asked. “Need some hairstyling tips?”
“Tips you stole from me? No thanks. But I hear you’ve got a really good bacon meatloaf recipe.”
It was worth it then and there to see his complete and total surprise.
“Since when do you cook?” he finally managed to stammer.
“Oh, you know. I’m a Renaissance man. I do it all. Send it if you’ve got it, and I’ll give it a try. I’ll let you know if I make any improvements.”
His smirk returned. “Are you trying to impress a girl?”
“With cooking?” I pointed at my face. “This is all it takes, Ozera.”

Then why are you crying?”
“Because of you!” I beat my fists on his chest. “Because I love you, and I don’t know what to do! I can solve almost any problem, but I can’t solve this. I don’t know how to deal with that. And I’m afraid! Afraid for you! Do you know what it’d do to me if something happens to you?” I stopped hitting him and clasped my hands over my own chest, as though there was a danger my heart might fall out. “This! This would break. Shatter. Crumble. Crumble until it was dust.” I dropped my hands. “Blown away on the wind until there was nothing left.”

Book Review: Burn for burn jenny han

Burn for Burn (Burn for Burn, #1)Burn for Burn by Jenny Han

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Book review – Burn For Burn *Spoilers* February 5- 16 Summary – Postcard-perfect Jar Island is the kind of place where nobody locks their doors at night, where parents can sleep easy, knowing their daughters are tucked away safe and sound in their beds. But bad things can happen, even to good girls . . . and sometimes, the only way to make things right is to do something wrong. Lillia used to trust boys, but not anymore. Not after what happened this summer. And she’ll do whatever it takes to protect her little sister from the same fate. Kat is over the rumors, the insults, the cruel jokes made at her expense. It all goes back to one person–her ex-best friend. Someone needs to teach her a lesson, and, with Lillia and Mary behind her, Kat feels up to the task.Four years ago, Mary left Jar Island because of a boy. But she’s not the same girl anymore. Now that she’s got friends who have her back, he’s going to be in big trouble.Three very different girls who come together to make things right. Will they go too far?

Review-Lilia , Mary and Kat are three different girls there not friends Lilia and Kat use to be but that was a long time ago but Lila , Mary and Kat are done waiting for Karma to catch up on the people who wronged them they decide to do it themselves So all three of them want revenge on three separate people Lila on Alex cause apparently he’s hooking up with her sister . Rennie cause She keeps badmouthing Kat they use to be best friends and Mary Reave who is a jackass and I hated him . Mary left years ago Reave use to pick on Mary she was bigger back then he called her big easy what piece of garbage what I liked about this book was the revenge even though in the end it kind of didn’t work out very well . Rennie she’s kind of a bitch on the last night of summer they met these guys on the beach and they end up going to these guys house for a party after they threw a party for Alex and Lila lost her virginity to one of those guys and Rennie let one of the guys she is a terrible friend . Kat and Alex hung out all summer but then she sees Alex and Nadia Lila’s younger sister what a pervert so then end up starting on Alex they take his poems mess up his skin it was kind of harmless knowing that he wasn’t actually hooking up with Nadia . When we found out why Mary really wants to take out Reave I wanted to punch him in the face and he’s a character he treated Mary like garbage he made her feel like they were friends but when they were around other people he acted like a jerk she tried to kill herself when she was younger what a terrible person so at homecoming they make sure Rennie doesn’t win and they drug Reave which turns out bad he fall off the stage and seizes HOLY CRAP and then he whispers big easy and then Mary screams and sets the electricity what is with her is she a witch or something I loved this book .

Book Review : exquisite corpse Penelope bagieu

Exquisite CorpseExquisite Corpse by Pénélope Bagieu
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

Summary- Exquisite Corpse February 9- February 9 Zoe isn’t exactly the intellectual type, which is why she doesn’t recognize world-famous author Thomas Rocher when she stumbles into his apartment…and into his life. It’s also why she doesn’t know that Rocher is supposed to be dead. Turns out, Rocher faked his death years ago to escape his critics, and has been making a killing releasing his new work as “lost manuscripts,” in cahoots with his editor/ex-wife Agathe. Neither of them would have invited a crass party girl like Zoe into their literary conspiracy of two, but now that she’s there anyway. . . . Zoe doesn’t know Balzac from Batman, but she’s going to have to wise up fast… because she’s sitting on the literary scandal of the century!

Review –

I requested this on netgally . this graphic novel was okay it’s about Zoe she has a crappy boyfriend crappy job until one day she needs to use the bathroom and goes up to Thomas rocher’s house and he’s in hiding he’s been pretending to be dead him and Zoe get along until she finds out about that he’s been pretending to be dead kind of sick so he can get good reviews on his book even sicker him and his editor use “lost Manuscripts” and then Zoe and Agatha had this plan that was genius crazy but I didn’t see coming see Thomas had this book he was working on that’s going to be a trilogy but then zoe pretends she wrote it like what it was a weird book I didn’t hate it but I didn’t like it also
