The Art of Letting Go (Uni Files #1)The Art of Letting Go by Anna Bloom
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Summary When Lilah McCannon realises at the age of twenty-five that history is going to repeat itself and she is going to become her mother—bored, drunk and wearing a twinset—there is only one thing to do: take drastic action.

Turning her back on her old life, Lilah’s plan is to enrol at university, get a degree and prove she is a grown-up.

As plans go, it is a good one. There are rules to follow: no alcohol, no cigarettes, no boys and no going home. But when Lilah meets the lead singer of a local band and finds herself unexpectedly falling in love, she realises her rules are not going to be the only things hard to keep.

With the academic year slipping by too quickly, Lilah faces a barrage of new challenges: will she ever make it up the Library stairs without having a heart attack? Can she handle a day on campus without drinking vodka? Will she ever manage to read a history book without falling asleep? And most importantly, can she become the grown-up that she desperately wants to be.
With her head and her heart pulling her in different directions can Lilah learn the hardest lesson that her first year of university has to teach her: The Art of Letting Go

Filled with love, fear, and the tough choices born of casual acts, One Night is a passionate and compellingly readable novel about teen life, the hardships of parenthood—and the joy and forgiveness between family and friends.

Book Review: fangirl rainbow rowell

FangirlFangirl by Rainbow Rowell
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Read from Sep 22- 25

Summary -n Rainbow Rowell’s Fangirl, Cath is a Simon Snow fan. Okay, the whole world is a Simon Snow fan, but for Cath, being a fan is her life—and she’s really good at it. She and her twin sister, Wren, ensconced themselves in the Simon Snow series when they were just kids; it’s what got them through their mother leaving.

Reading. Rereading. Hanging out in Simon Snow forums, writing Simon Snow fan fiction, dressing up like the characters for every movie premiere.

Cath’s sister has mostly grown away from fandom, but Cath can’t let go. She doesn’t want to.
Now that they’re going to college, Wren has told Cath she doesn’t want to be roommates. Cath is on her own, completely outside of her comfort zone. She’s got a surly roommate with a charming, always-around boyfriend, a fiction-writing professor who thinks fan fiction is the end of the civilized world, a handsome classmate who only wants to talk about words . . . And she can’t stop worrying about her dad, who’s loving and fragile and has never really been alone.

For Cath, the question is: Can she do this? Can she make it without Wren holding her hand? Is she ready to start living her own life? And does she even want to move on if it means leaving Simon Snow behind?

Review- This Book Is about Cath she is obsessed with Simon Snow she writes Fanfiction since forever it’s all she knows now she is going to college with her twin sister and her sister wants to not room with her and Cath is mad when she get there she meets her roommate Reagan she is kind of sour and moody and Levi he’s very smiley and happy and bubbly . Cath is Taking creative writing and is an english major (like me ) and She meets Nick and she and him are writing together and she thinks that she likes him I really see Cath in me like the awkwardness and the writing and being so into a fandom that it’s like a part of you . Cath and Nick start going to the library to write and Levi picks her up every time how sweet and Cath reads Levi her fanfiction that was so cute and then she helps him study and they end up falling asleep together and kissing and then Regan comes in and she also explains that her and Levi aren’t dating she and Levi have been broken up for awhile . Levi texts Cath to come to his party she doesn’t text back after allot of thinking she goes with Regan and when she gets there She see’s Levi kissing some girl and she storms out she doesn’t want to ever think about that again she avoids Levi until she gets a call that her dad is in the hospital and she tries to get her sister to go with her but Wren is to wrapped in her life drinking her mom back into her life and doesn’t come she reluctley calls Levi and asks him to drive her and he does and when they get there he asks why she is avoiding him and she tells him and he also tells her that the kiss didn’t mean anything like WTF Levi I love you but what are you thinking you like Cath and then she tells him to leave and to leave her alone and after time and allot of writing Simon Snow . Nick also wants to submit the story that her and he worked on and she gets no credit what an ass . so Levi comes to her door and tells her how he feels and they start dating and Oh my god Cath and Levi are adorable together she doesn’t really want him touching her but when she does she can’t stop that’s what made me laugh and Wren is in the Hospital for drinking to much and her mom is there Cath hasn’t seen her mom since she left and she doesn’t even want to see Wren when they can that is kind o messed up . So apparently Wren has a boyfriend it was the guy who threw the punch at the bar that time ( I like them together ) Wren and Cath make up . Levi and Cath are good together they’re happy oh and Nick has the guts to come to Cath and say well I need you to put your name on the story so I can win and she doesn’t I was like you go Cath . and in the end when the last Simon Snow book comes out her and Levi read together this book was amazing I loved it I would of loved more and to know where her and Levi end up but we can figure that out ourselves.
…. Christina

Favorite quotes .I don’t trust anybody . Not anybody . And the more that I care about someone , the more sure I they’re going to get tired of me and take off.

Idea … if your board and you miss me you should write some dirty fanfiction about us . you can read it to me later page

Thats the ultimate kind of broken . the kind of damage you never recover from.

Book Review: the fault in our stars John Green

The Fault in Our StarsThe Fault in Our Stars by John Green
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Read fromJuly 28-August 5
Summary – Despite the tumor-shrinking medical miracle that has bought her a few years, Hazel has never been anything but terminal, her final chapter inscribed upon diagnosis. But when a gorgeous plot twist named Augustus Waters suddenly appears at Cancer Kid Support Group, Hazel’s story is about to be completely rewritten.

Review – so people have told me for awhile to read this book that its amazing but it will make you cry this is about hazel grace she has a tumor and she is in this support group and she doesn’t want to be there until she sees a boy Augustus waters oh I love him this story will make you cry and laugh I loved hazel and I felt bad for her at the same time when Augustus and hazel integrated I love it Augustus has one leg but he’s not sick anymore Augustus and hazel hang out allot Augustus loves hazel romantically but hazel doesn’t want to hurt him cause she will die she gives Augustus a book recommendation and they both talk of the love of this story and they use cancer perks to meet the author that was a mistake he was an asshole and that’s Is me being kind he was rude to Augustus and Hazel so they left and went to the Ann frank musame that’s where they had there first kiss and I loved them being in love but then things go bad when Hazel learns that Augustus is still sick and close to dying when he dies it was terrible I cried for about 5 min don’t read this book in public you will look crazy but at the end of this book with the letter to that author I was crying this was an amazing book I would re read this .
Favorite quotes
“Augustus Waters was a self-aggrandizing bastard. But we forgive him. We forgive him not because he had a heart as figuratively good as his literal one sucked, or because he knew more about how to hold a cigarette than any nonsmoker in history, or because he got eighteen years when he should’ve gotten more.’
‘Seventeen,’ Gus corrected.
‘I’m assuming you’ve got some time, you interupting bastard.
‘I’m telling you,’ Isaac continued, ‘Augustus Waters talked so much that he’d interupt you at his own funeral. And he was pretentious: Sweet Jesus Christ, that kid never took a piss without pondering the abundant metaphorical resonances of human waste production. And he was vain: I do not believe I have ever met a more physically attractive person who was more acutely aware of his own physical attractiveness.
‘But I will say this: When the scientists of the future show up at my house with robot eyes and they tell me to try them on, I will tell the scientists to screw off, because I do not want to see a world without him.’
I was kind of crying by then.”
― John Green, The Fault in Our Stars
“Sometimes, you read a book and it fills you with this weird evangelical zeal, and you become convinced that the shattered world will never be put back together unless and until all living humans read the book. And then there are books like An Imperial Affliction, which you can’t tell people about, books so special and rare and yours that advertising your affection feels like betrayal”

Oh I wouldn’t mind hazel grace . It would be a privilege to have my heart broken by you. Page 176

Book Review: Nantucket Blue Lelia Howland

Nantucket Blue (Nantucket, #1)Nantucket Blue by Leila Howland
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Started June 29 – July 21

Summary For Cricket Thompson, a summer like this one will change everything. A summer spent on Nantucket with her best friend, Jules Clayton, and the indomitable Clayton family. A summer when she’ll make the almost unattainable Jay Logan hers. A summer to surpass all dreams.

Some of this turns out to be true. Some of it doesn’t.

When Jules and her family suffer a devastating tragedy that forces the girls apart, Jules becomes a stranger whom Cricket wonders whether she ever really knew. And instead of lying on the beach working on her caramel-colored tan, Cricket is making beds and cleaning bathrooms to support herself in paradise for the summer.

But it’s the things Cricket hadn’t counted on–most of all, falling hard for someone who should be completely off-limits–that turn her dreams into an exhilarating, bittersweet reality.

A beautiful future is within her grasp, and Cricket must find the grace to embrace it. If she does, her life could be the perfect shade of Nantucket blue.
