Book Review: The Goal Elle Kennedy

The Goal (Off-Campus, #4)

The Goal by Elle Kennedy

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

September 15-18

She’s good at achieving her goals…

College senior Sabrina James has her whole future planned out: graduate from college, kick butt in law school, and land a high-paying job at a cutthroat firm. Her path to escaping her shameful past certainly doesn’t include a gorgeous hockey player who believes in love at first sight. One night of sizzling heat and surprising tenderness is all she’s willing to give John Tucker, but sometimes, one night is all it takes for your entire life to change.

But the game just got a whole lot more complicated…

Tucker believes being a team player is as important as being the star. On the ice, he’s fine staying out of the spotlight, but when it comes to becoming a daddy at the age of twenty-two, he refuses to be a bench warmer. It doesn’t hurt that the soon-to-be mother of his child is beautiful, whip-smart, and keeps him on his toes. The problem is, Sabrina’s heart is locked up tight, and the fiery brunette is too stubborn to accept his help. If he wants a life with the woman of his dreams, he’ll have to convince her that some goals can only be made with an assist.

Review : I loved this book I loved this series sabrina is tough and Tucker is sweet
Tucker and Sabrina hook up one night in tucker’s truck but Sabrina doesn’t do boyfriends she has a plan get into law school get out of her home with her mean grandma and creep of a stepfather. But Tucker wants her he keeps perusing her . Sabrina got into law school and she’s so happy but her friends finally convince her to go on a date with Tucker and she goes on a double date with her friend Tucker and Tucker teammate fitzy they all had a blast . Tucker’s mom wants him to move back to Texas after he graduates and he isn’t sure he wants to . Sabrina gets sick and she is still sick after she hooks up with tucker one night .He asks her if she’s pregnant and she is . She isn’t sure she wants to keep it but after Beau death and talking with his sister she wants to keep it . Tucker and her have a routine they find out the sex of the baby it’s a girl. Sabrina loves tucker but isn’t sure if she should say it .After the baby is born her name is Jamie they fall into a routine with sabrina at law school and Tucker buys a bar . Sabrina finally admits her feelings and she loves him . I loved this series the relationships the characters I laughed and cried .

Quotes :I love Jamie and I love Tucker and if, at any time, Harvard or work or anything threatens their happiness in any way, I would give it all up in a minute.” Her brown eyes widen. But I’m not done. “He and Jamie are the most important things in my life,” I say fiercely. “And everything I’m doing right now is to make sure that I keep them in my life, to make sure I can contribute to our family and give Jamie a better childhood than the one I had to deal with

My goal, once upon a time, was to succeed. I didn’t realize that success wasn’t grades or scholarships or achievements, but the people I was lucky enough to have in my life. As I look around the room, I want to give everyone a hug and a thank-you. A hug to express how much I love them and a thank-you for loving me back. Because love is the ultimate goal. It’s not the one I had strived for, but I was lucky enough, so damn lucky, to achieve it.

You’re the only one for me. My sun rises and sets on your smile. My heart beats because yours does.
Poor guy. The ladies go wild for Colin Fitzgerald, but in all the years I’ve known him, he’s been incredibly selective about who he goes out with. I think deep down he’s as old-fashioned as I am.

When I offer her some ice chips to chew on, she tells me to shove them up my ass. The one time I peeked over Doctor Laura’s shoulder at Sabrina’s lady parts, she told me that if I did that one more time, she’d break my hockey stick and stab me with it.

Sabrina James isn’t used to people loving her. Sometimes I wonder if she even knows how to love someone back, but then I see her with our daughter, the way her face softens with love and adoration every time she looks at Jamie, and I know she’s capable of feeling deeply.

“Why Gigi?” she asks slowly. Hannah sighs again. The name suddenly clicks in my head. Oh for fuck’s sake. “G.G.,” I mutter to Sabrina. “As in Garrett Graham.” She’s silent for a beat. Then she bursts out laughing, triggering giggles from Grace and eventually Hannah, who keeps shaking her head at her boyfriend. “What?” Garrett says defensively. “The godfather should have a say in the name. It’s in the rule book.” “What rule book?” Hannah bursts out. “You make up the rules as you go along!” “So?”

Garrett is holding a tiny newborn doll. Which is missing its head, by the way. “You fucking took it home?” Logan sounds outraged. “Hell yeah I did. What use were they going to have for it there? It doesn’t have a head, bro.” “Where’s ‘there’?” I ask carefully, though I’m not sure I want to know the answer. “Newborn CPR,” Garrett explains. “We took a course at the campus health center this morning.” “Newborn CPR?” Sabrina shakes her head, dazed. “It was the grace under pressure test.” Garrett smiles smugly. “Which he failed. I, of course, passed with flying colors.” “Is it my fault I don’t know my own strength?” Logan protests. “Yes!” Garrett says in a spurt of laughter. “That is totally your fault.” He holds up the doll and waves it around tauntingly. “Show me on the doll where your brain is. Oh right, you can’t. Because you fucking decapitated it

Him: Is that like naked Twister? Me: I have no clue. I send him the picture. Maybe he can make some sense out of it, because I sure can’t. Him: Was this taken with an actual camera or drawn by tiny leprechauns? Me: Carin’s a scientist, not an artist. Btw did u find someone? Him: Yes. My buddy Fitz is coming and b4 u ask, I have no idea re: his oral skills. But he’s hella smart, has a mean slapshot, and I’ve never heard any complaints. I take a screenshot of that text and send it to Carin. Me: Is this OK? Her: Can I have a pic? I text Tuck, Can she have a pic? Him: Of what? Dear God. This is a ridiculous game of actual telephone. Me: Tucker says: of what? Her: Face, abs, ass. No dick I take yet another screenshot and shoot that off to Tucker. While he considers the request, I wash my face and brush my teeth. By the time I climb into bed, there’s a message waiting for me. A picture of a gorgeous dark-haired guy flipping Tucker off fills my screen.

Wow. It’s incredible how hot these Briar hockey players are. Is that a requirement of making the team? Be able to slap the puck a hundred miles an hour and also star in the calendar?

Me: I’m bringing my friend Carin and u need to bring the hottest guy u know. Him: I’m the hottest guy I know. Will look for 2nd hottest guy on campus. She have any preferences? Me: Someone who knows how to use his tongue. Him: Again, that’d be me. Not sure how I’ll find out how good the other guys are w/ their equipment. Not a topic that comes up a lot. Me: That’s the price of my time. Him: On it.

Dean shoved a dildo up his ass last night.” Fitzy nods. “Makes sense.”

Damn, who would’ve thought that gingers could be so hot?

Hey, what if I said I was still interested?” I turn around to meet his eyes. “That’d be too bad.” Beau chuckles. “I thought so. Well, more power to you, dude, but I’m warning you—there are easier women than Sabrina.” “Why would I want someone easy?” I flash him a grin. “That doesn’t sound like any fun.”

But as the lines begin to blur between past and present and fiction and reality, the girls must confront what really happened in the woods all those years ago—no matter how monstrous.

Review : I loved this book it was crazy. Mia and Brynn five years ago kill summer only they didn’t kill her but they have been marked as murders by the small town. Brynn has been faking being an addict so she can stay in rehab. Mia wants to solve summer’s murder so with the help of her friend abby Brynn’s cousin wade and owen Mia’s past love they go back into lovelorn. Lovelorn was a book that summer was obsessed with and summer Brynn and Mia wrote a sequel and they would pretend to go to lovelorn but it wasn’t pretend to summer that day in the woods. First Brynn thinks owen killed her cause he was hiding something but he was hiding the lovelorn sequel Summer was writing . Summer stole owen from Mia and she was brokenhearted. Brynn was in love with summer but she was always messing with her . Summer was a little off she was a shitty friend and she was kinds crazy . Grey there teacher she was obsessed with summer she ended up killing herself but the police found evidence to finally clear Mia and Brynn name. Mia goes to New York to visit owen they spend the day together and they kiss it was so cute .

Quotes:
That’s the thing about hearts. They don’t get put back together, not really. They just get patched. But the damage is still there.”

The problem with fairy tales isn’t that they don’t exist. It’s that they do exist, but only for some people.”

In books, secret worlds are accessible by doors or keys or other physical objects. But Lovelorn was not such a world, and appeared at whim and only when it felt like it, with a subtle change like the slow shifting of afternoon to evening.”

Quotes :
“Dumb” and “selfish” will definitely be the descriptors I use if I decide to run a smear campaign against Mr. Jockface. “Seriously hot” also works, although it kills me to admit that. Still, even though the guy’s good-looking, he’s not my type at all. I don’t go for preppy jocks. When I’m in the mood for a guy, I like ‘em a little rougher around the edges. But, hey, if you like handsome rich dudes, Keaton is your man.

Oh, did I mention I’m a stripper? Some dudes prefer “male entertainer” or “exotic dancer,” but I call a spade a spade. I spend two nights a week shaking my crotch in happy women’s faces and stripping down to a G-string. Ergo, I’m a stripper.

he found that their brains light up just as enthusiastically for praise as they do for food. In other words, I’m as smart as a golden retriever.

Annika’s eyes go wide, and when I try to swallow, my water goes down the wrong pipe. Well, Dad, we’re inviting a man to get naked with us and get us both off together. As one does.

Really? I’m not in the habit of asking my buddies to get naked with me. What if they’re disgusted? Then I have to avoid them until graduation. No—longer. There we’ll be at the ten-year reunion, drinking our first beer of the weekend, and I’ll see him across the way. And his eyes will go all squinty. There’s the pervert who wanted to see my dick.

“That’s exactly what you wanted to do, remember, Keaton? You wanted to fuck me. You wanted me to fuck you. You wanted me. You wanted this—” I grab him by the back of the neck and kiss him.

“I’m going to put this into terms that you can understand.” “This better be good.” “You’re a yellow lab.” “I’m…what?” “A dog.

Misadventures of a Curvy Girl (Misadventures Book 18)

Misadventures of a Curvy Girl by Sierra Simone

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

April 24-28

For the first time in her life, Ireland Mills is happy with her body. No more fad diets, no more hiding from every camera in the room, no more low self-esteem. She’d rather be alone than with someone who’ll only love her if she’s skinny.

Caleb Carpenter and Ben Weber are everything Ireland and the Kansas Chamber of Commerce dreamed of when conceptualizing the “Real Kansas” promotional campaign. They’re handsome, young, educated, and totally dedicated to their small prairie town.

When Ireland’s Prius gets stuck on a Kansas dirt road and a massive storm rips through town, she’s left stranded with nowhere to turn but to Caleb and Ben. These two hunky country boys are impossible to ignore, but could they ever be interested in her as well?

Caleb and Ben are more than interested…and they’re willing to share. After their first night together, they know this has to be more than a one-time thing. They need to make her theirs forever. But can they convince Ireland they love her, curves and all?

Review : loved this book I related to Ireland a lot she dumped her dick of a boyfriend who didn’t accept her body. So on a work trip to take photos of a farm . She meets caleb and then she meets Ben. Caleb and Ireland end up kissing then we meet Ben a former soldier and they all end up having sex see Ben and caleb do better with a third in a relationship. This book was a look into a polyamorous relationship. But when a storm hits the town and Ireland almost gets hurt Ben is scared and yells at her to go home . So she goes but forgot her camera so she goes back and Ben is there and he apologizes and wants her to stay and she does .They all start a relationship but when a reporter wants to do a story on Ireland who has been taking photos of the town and she gets made fun of online she leaves but she’s sad until she gets a visitor Ben and caleb’s ex girlfriend who tells her she needs to go back to them and fuck the haters mostly .So they showed up with flowers aww so sweet they go back and it flashes to Christmas and caleb proposes to Ireland and Ben it was so sweet.

Quotes

And started wearing the clothes everyone said I shouldn’t—crop tops and leggings and short dresses and over-the-knee boots—and I started taking dance classes for the hell of it, because it sounded fun and because I wasn’t going to care anymore about being the biggest woman in the room or the one who sweats the most or breathes the loudest. I was going to live in my body now.

You don’t care, remember? It’s better to be alone than with someone who doesn’t like you with the body you have.

Out in the circle of lamplight, Ben watches Caleb slowly go still, and they both let out a long breath. “She must be something,” Ben says, the heel of his palm still hard against his fly. He’s just as affected by the unfiltered and brutish sight of Caleb coming as I am, but he seems to have more control. Me, I’m on the edge of my own orgasm, my eyes still riveted on the sight of Caleb’s unflagging erection. But Ben is still all cool words and careful, catlike posture. Only his palm pressed to his covered cock gives him away. “She is,” Caleb rumbles, still catching his breath. “I can’t wait for you to meet her.” “Oh, I don’t think I’ll have to wait long,” Ben replies coolly. “She’s right here in the barn with us. Aren’t you, Ireland?

She hesitantly steps out of the stall, a flush high on her cheeks—one I know will be matched on Caleb’s face. Thirty-three years old, and he still blushes like he did in grade school

You’re done with that now. No more apologizing just because you’re scared of people walking away.

The fish are very nice fish,” Caleb promises. “They haven’t eaten a person in years.

You guys,” she admonishes, pushing us back with a flat palm to each of our chests. “I’m supposed to meet a reporter from the Star at any minute, and I can’t do that with lipstick all over my face and a used condom in my pocket.” “Well, obviously we’d throw the condom away after—” Her hand moves from my chest to my mouth. “Your talking privileges are suspended

It’s that word, isn’t it? Fat?” “Well, I don’t—” “Do you think fat means bad?” “I mean, I—” Hand wave. “It’s just a word, princess

But this time he isn’t holding back. She should know better than to sleep with someone she knows, but she can’t seem to resist him. The annulment is final cause if they divorced Armstrong would of had to pay her . Lex and Amalie get to be together officially . Bane and Ruby’s wedding happens I loved it onto to the next one .

Quotes

I get it. I know I’m irresistible.” My laugh comes out a sob. His lips touch my cheek. “No was the very last thing I wanted to say to you.”

Divorce could be quick.” I flinch—divorce is such an ugly word in our world. “He cheated on me less than twelve hours into our marriage. It hasn’t and won’t ever be consummated.” He clears his throat and taps his pen on the table. “Right. Okay. So we’ll proceed with the annulment, which is option two. We’ll cite it as fraudulent, since he entered the marriage without the intention of upholding fidelity.” I snort. “That’s a nice way of putting it. Is there an option three?” “Hire a hitman and dump the body in the river, but there’s a lot of loose ends there and it’s sort of a legal nightmare.” I smile at his horrible attempt at legal humor.

sip my bubbly, watching curiously as he reaches into his messenger bag and pulls out a small case. Flipping it open, he withdraws a pair of glasses and slides them on. Dear sweet lord of all things panty melting, this has to be the sexiest man to ever walk the planet. The only thing that would make him sexier would be if he was holding a puppy, or better yet, a baby. “I didn’t know you wore glasses.

“Amalie. You can’t—” Armstrong tries to sit up, but he doesn’t seem to be able to coordinate the movement. “Shut up. Just shut the fuck up. I’m not done.” When he remains silent she continues. “The fact that you wanted me to act like your virgin bride every time we had sex was demeaning and I’ve been faking my orgasms for months. Also, your penis is small. It’s the smallest penis I’ve ever ridden. Or tried to ride. In fact, half the time I wasn’t even sure you were in. And you’re a premature ejaculator. I hope Brittany and whoever else you put your dick in enjoy their two minutes of humping followed by your horrifying orgasms. Let’s go, Lex.”

Lex is just sexy period. Sexy Lexy is what I call him in my head

Bane’s lip curls and he claps a palm on the back of Armstrong’s neck, holding tight and getting in close. “You might want to keep your voice down, unless you’d like your nose broken again. I promise, cousin, no amount of surgery will make your face pretty again when I’m done

You’re ruining my engagement party because you can’t let shit go. I get that it’s hard for you to grasp that the world doesn’t revolve around you, but this isn’t the time or the place to air your grievances, or plead your case with Amie.” “I can’t get to her any other way. Everyone has made it impossible otherwise.” “And why do you think that is, Armstrong?” He peeks out from behind Bane. “Fuck you, Lexington. You can’t have what’s mine.” “Can I just punch him?” I look to my brother

I’m in love with her.” His frowns and hesitates. “I love her,” I repeat. “You better not be saying that just to avoid getting punched in the face.

“I guess I always figured coming out was something you did for friends and family, and maybe it is, but it’s personal too, you know? The person I was last night is new. I wanna get to know him.”

I had two things on my list when I arrived in Los Angeles. One, track down Henry Bennington, the uncle and guardian of my little brother’s best friend, and tell him to get his ass back to Washington. He needed to do something about his nephew, who was turning into a douchebag. And two, figure out just how non-straight I was. For the past two years, I’d had all these fantasies, and now was the time to explore them, far away from my sleepy little town.

Nowhere on this list did it say, “Get Ty’s uncle into bed and fall for him.” I wasn’t supposed to fall in love with another city either. But between brunch, making new friends, and discovering the man I was meant to be, I lost sight of the future that had once seemed pretty damn vivid. How the hell was I supposed to merge my old life and who I used to be with the new dreams Los Angeles and Henry had awakened in me?

Review : Zach goes to California to get his brothers best friend Ty’s uncle to help him cause Ty is turning into a dick. Ty lost his parents young and is being raised by his grandparents who are bigots and disowned Henry . Zach is looking to experiment cause he doesnt think he is straight and Henry is catching his eye and after one night at a bar and lots of drinking and having fun they end up kissing . I love zach and Henry together even though there is an age difference it shouldn’t matter cause how they feel about each other matters . Ty finally comes out and Henry and him finally talk slash fight . Zach has to leave to go home but Henry is like oh it’s ok if you want to sleep with someone else and that makes zach mad I would be to I think it was dickish of Henry. Zach ends up getting beat up by some homophobic idiots Henry is there for him and zach ends up getting a modeling job loved this book.

Quotes :Can I come out to anyone, or am I gonna be the last to know I’m gay?”

What are your plans for the day?” Martin asked. With a wave of his hand, he added, “Other than screwing each other’s brains out.

that, I froze. Henry grew still too, and Martin rolled his eyes. “Good God, we share a wall, Henry.”

I don’t mean to be a dick, Zach, but…” He shifted in his seat, hesitant. “I kinda already assumed you were queer. Or gay, sorry.” My eyebrows shot up. “The fuck? Is there a sign on my forehead or something?” “No, but there’s gay porn on your computer at home,” he replied frankly

A wrong number is supposed to be just that—a wrong number.

Delete. Done.

Do not continue to text. Do not flirt.

A wrong number shouldn’t be the first person on your mind in the morning, or the last at night…and you’re definitely not supposed to talk them into buying a baby goat.

Because that would be weird.

When Zach Hastings and I get into a wrong-number mix-up, we don’t follow the rules. We keep texting and flirting, because he’s wicked funny and perfectly nerdy and a wonderful distraction.

I’m not looking for love, and Zach definitely had the wrong number.

But maybe…

Maybe he’s the right guy.

Review : I loved this book it was so cute and funny . Delia ends up breaking up with her boyfriend who is better as friend than a boyfriend and then she gets a wrong number who turns out to be zach and they have great conversation and they talk a lot . They have phone movie nights until her best friend makes her ask Zach out and they go on an amazing date . Zach got a freaking baby goat as a pet named marshmallow awwwwwwwwwwwww . Things are going great until they go to his parents house for thanksgiving everything was perfect until Delia found out Zach’s step brother is a guy who fucked her friend and left and he’s a total dick . Then Delia’s ex boyfriend tells her a photo got out and he only knew it was her cause they dated and Delia thinks Zach did it but after she gets home and is crying over ice cream her ex and her best friend tell her it was probally Zach’s step brother cause that didn’t sound like zach as a person this part made me mad i’m like comunicate with each other Delia and her best friend goat nap marshmallow Zach and Delia make up I loved this book .

Quotes :
Zach: How come when I order a large pizza for myself for lunch I receive one of “those” looks from the delivery guy? Me: Wait, wait, wait…you work from home? Zach: Yes, but not the point. Let’s focus on the pizza delivery guy and his sassy stares here. Me: Well I imagine you’re answering the door in your pajamas with uncombed hair, so you appear all sad and heartsick…or just sick. Or weird. Or a creeper. Yeah, you know what, you DO look like a creeper. Zach: I would take offense, but you’re probably right. Me: Probably? Zach: That’s the story I’m sticking with. Me: I think the point of view on your story is skewed. Zach: YOU’RE SKEWED. Zach: God. That was awful. Forget I sent that. Me: screenshot Zach: You’re evil. I knew there was at least one redeeming quality about you. Me: And what about my smart mouth? Zach: You’re right—one and a half. Me: I’ll take my winnings where I can.

Zach: Yes? Me: I…I didn’t mean to bring up your mom. I had no idea. Zach: Don’t sweat it. You’re still my favorite penis potholder maker…this week. Me: Is there anything else I should know about you? Any other subjects that are off the table? Zach: I hate clowns and bunnies. That’s about it. Me: I’m sorry…BUNNIES?! How is that possible? Zach: Don’t judge me. I’m sure there’s something weird out there that you’re afraid of.

“Are you going to touch your dick the entire night? On the couch? Because other people sit there too, ya know. Don’t be uncouth. It’s not cool, man.” “I’m not touching my dick.” “But are you thinking about touching your dick?” I hear the other guy in the room snap his fingers. “Ah ha! Hesitation! You were thinking about touching your dick.” “Oh my god. This could not possibly be more awkward,” Zach mumbles. “I don’t know, I think it could be worse,” I tell him. “Shut up,” he responds to me…I think. “No, you shut up. You’re the one who ditched us tonight,” his friend chimes in. I snicker and hear Zach groan. “I didn’t ditch you, Robbie.” “You did. You ditched us for your dick.” “I am not touching my dick!” I have a feeling that last statement was for Robbie and me. “Not right now, but you’re going to. I live with you—I know things about you.” Another groan from Zach. “This is the most awkward moment of my life.” “Does he not know I’m here?” I question. Zach doesn’t answer, and I’m assuming his buddy has no clue we’re on the phone. “Robbie, please, I am begging you to leave already…” “Why? Am I embarrassing you? Why are your cheeks so red?” I can hear the ticking from here… “Because I am on the phone with a woman, you moron!” Zach explodes like a bomb. “I have my Bluetooth in because we’re trying to watch a show.” I can imagine him sitting there, red-faced and waving his arms around in desperation, and the image is enough for me to laugh hysterically. “Knock it off!” “Knock what off?” Robbie questions. “Not you, her!” I laugh harder and Zach growls in my ear. “Are you watching the show, like, together?” “Yes!” “Aw, that’s the cutest, pussiest shit I have ever heard—ow! Stop throwing things!” Robbie yells. “Whatever. I’m outie. Don’t wait up, bitch.” A door clicks closed in the background and an exasperated sigh slips through Zach’s lips. “Can we hit play yet?” “Yeah, Zach, we can hit play, but can I ask you something first?” “Shoot.” “Are you really touching your dick?” Zach mutters a “Dammit, Delia” before saying, “I’m hitting play.”

Because I’ll let you touch my butt?” My body quakes with laughter the moment the words leave his mouth. “What? I’ll have you know I have a fantastic ass, Delia. You’ll want to touch it, and you’ll want to touch it often.”

Emergency Contact

Emergency Contact by Mary H.K. Choi

Jan 9- 26

For Penny Lee high school was a total nonevent. Her friends were okay, her grades were fine, and while she somehow managed to land a boyfriend, he doesn’t actually know anything about her. When Penny heads to college in Austin, Texas, to learn how to become a writer, it’s seventy-nine miles and a zillion light years away from everything she can’t wait to leave behind.

Sam’s stuck. Literally, figuratively, emotionally, financially. He works at a café and sleeps there too, on a mattress on the floor of an empty storage room upstairs. He knows that this is the god-awful chapter of his life that will serve as inspiration for when he’s a famous movie director but right this second the seventeen bucks in his checking account and his dying laptop are really testing him.

When Sam and Penny cross paths it’s less meet-cute and more a collision of unbearable awkwardness. Still, they swap numbers and stay in touch—via text—and soon become digitally inseparable, sharing their deepest anxieties and secret dreams without the humiliating weirdness of having to see each other.

Review : I loved this book . Penny is ready to get to collage her and her mom are always butting heads . When she gets to college she meets her roommate’s friend they all meet at a cafe House where Penny meets Jude and where she also meets Sam. Sam is going through a lot his crazy ex girlfriend tells him she’s pregnant and he’s freaking out and ends up having a anxiety attack on the side of the street that’s where penny finds him and they agree to be each other’s emergency contact so they just end up texting . They end up talking a lot until her mom vists and they go to house and sam told her he would call her and he never did Sam got depressed his ex wasn’t pregnant now . Penny was dealing with school and her writing and then she gets an email from Sam and she shows up at house and tells him they should be actual friends who hang out . They never told Jude they were friends and she find out when she gets a text from Sam and Jude is pissed at her . Penny ‘s mom is in the hospital cause she had a weed brownie for her birthday so she called same and they drove to the hospital and when penny found out what happened she left to go back to school . She spends the night with Sam and they end up kissing and she bolts . Jude and Sam end up talking and she asks Sam about Penny . Penny’s mom shows up and they talk it out and Sam shows up and they talk and he’s into her it was a cute ending .

Quotes : “Penny believed with her whole heart that there were moments – crucial instances – that defined who someone was going to be. There were clues or signs, and you didn’t want to miss them.”

Book Review : The Virgin novelist Meghan Quinn

The Virgin Romance Novelist (The Virgin Romance Novelist, #1)

The Virgin Romance Novelist by Meghan Quinn

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Jan 24 – 25

From USA Today Bestselling Author Meghan Quinn, comes a hilarious romantic comedy that will touch your heart and cause you to roar with laughter as you escape into Rosie Bloom’s attempt to write a romance novel.

Her bosom heaved at an alarming rate as his rough hand found its way down to her soft, yet wiry briar patch…

Can you say briar patch in a romance novel? What about breasts? Do bosoms really heave?

Goodness, I have no idea what I’m doing. I’m a virgin attempting to write a romance novel and I’m having an impossible time trying to write a passionate and swoon-worthy love scene worthy of being published, thanks to my lack of experience.

My two best friends encourage me to drop the pen, step outside my comfort zone, and gain some real life experience through multiple dating facets such as blind dates, online profiles, and random hookups. But losing my “flower” is proving to be much tougher than expected…

This is the story of my awkward, humiliating, and slightly terrifying life, but like all romance novels, I know it will end in a happily ever after. At least that’s what I keep telling myself.

**WARNING: READ IN THE CONFINES OF YOUR OWN HOME DUE TO RANDOM OUTBURSTS OF LAUGHTER. IF YOU ARE ADDICTED TO CLIFFHANGERS, GETTING YOUR HEART RIPPED OUT OF YOUR CHEST AND FEELING LIKE A BULLDOZER JUST PLOWED THROUGH YOUR STOMACH, THEN THIS BOOK IS NOT FOR YOU. IF YOU LIKE PEEING YOUR PANTS AND CRYING FROM LAUGHING SO HARD, THEN PLEASE CONTINUE READING.

Review : I loved this book it was so cute and funny as fuck . So Rosie is a magazine writer who is trying to be a writer and she’s also a virgin and her roommates Delaney and Henry tell her she needs to get out there and loose it . so she starts going on these dates and writing notes in a notebook but it doesn’t go well first she kicks a guy in the crotch . Then she rips her pants on the second one . And in meanwhile her best friend Henry has been flirting more and more with her she has always had feelings for him but she knew She wasn’t his type so why is he flirting with me she’s thinking . Henry finally confesses his feelings to Rosie and ends up kissing her but she doesn’t know what to do she doesn’t want to ruin the friendship but she can’t be without Henry . He ends up leaving for the weekend and she goes on this date with this guy with a dog and it didn’t end well and she ends up going to her parents with Henry for brunch and then they go back to the apartment and end up having sex and it was great I love them together and then bombshell she receives a call from the guy she kicked in the crotch and then Henry gets hurt but Rosie didn’t see that . And Henry ends up moving out and she’s depressed until Delany and her Fiance trick her into going to Henry’s place and leave her . They talk and they finally get together I really loved this book it was so cute and funny.

Quotes : There is a whole community out there who loves love, who loves romance, and I’m one of them. It’s a world I love living in, where there are happily ever afters, the odd girl gets the good looking guy, and where chivalry isn’t lost. I know it can’t all be true, that life isn’t as grand as some novels make it out to be, but I still love every single story because it’s an escape from reality, a moment in time where you can daydream of the impossible, where there is a chance of watching true love unfold right in front of you.”
