Book Review: I wanna text you up Tegan Hunter

I Wanna Text You Up (Texting, #2)

I Wanna Text You Up by Teagan Hunter

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

May 24-28

When I put up a ROOMMATE WANTED poster, he was the last person on earth I thought would respond.

He was also the last person on earth I’d agree to let live with me…on purpose.

But, here we are—roommates. I’m certain we can coexist without it being awkward, and I’m determined to make it work. There will be no sexual tension building with each accidental touch, no flutters when he wears that stupid backward baseball cap, and definitely no flirting when we text back and forth.

Caleb Mills can’t be the guy for me. He’s my best friend’s ex-boyfriend.

And that would be wrong…right?

Review : I loved the sequel I love Caleb and Zoe we met Zoe and Caleb in the first book Zoe is Delia best friend and Caleb is Delia’s ex boyfriend. Zoe puts up a roommate wanted since Delia is moving in with her boyfriend Zach. She finds someone and it turns out to be Caleb who moves in with his adorable kitten Mittens . Zoe is into Caleb but she thinks its wrong since girl code but it doesn’t stop her from flirting with him. Caleb disappears every Sunday. Caleb got injured and can’t play baseball anymore . Caleb and Zoe get closer they end up kissing and then Zoe ends up finally talking with Delia and she just wants them to be happy . Zoe invites caleb on spring break at her parents house .They have a great time and end up finally having sex but then caleb leaves and Zoe is pissed I would be to . Caleb shows up at Zoe Rocky horror even dressed up . They end up talking after and Caleb talks about his family they are kinda fucked up so he cuts them off he wants Zoe he wants to be happy with her .

Quotes : I still cannot believe you’re ditching me to move in with your stupid boyfriend,” I tell Delia. “And goats. Don’t forget those sweet baby goats I bought her,” said stupid boyfriend interjects,

I’m a strange breed of people when it comes to notebooks. I use every square inch on a page. Doodles, notes, lists, random reading assignments—it all goes in my book.

You know those silly videos you see online with the hot guys playing with kittens? The big, macho dudes falling apart at the sight of them? That’s what’s happening right now, in this car, right in front of me—and it’s every bit as swoon-worthy as it is in video form.

Holy crap—that’s why you don’t want me to live with you.” He grins, and it’s full of playfulness for the first time since I pulled up. “You want me.”

Me: Oh, everyone already knows you were checking me out because they were too. I’m hot. shrugs Caleb: You are like a female version of Zach. You know that, right?

Me: I have this theory that you’re really a stripper and you’re just embarrassed and don’t want to tell anyone about it. That’s why you work such crazy hours and come home smelling like old ladies and sadness. Caleb: LMAO Caleb: Are you serious? Me: Dead. Caleb: Holy fuck. dies Caleb: Zoe, I am NOT a stripper.

Your cat has three beds. Explain that.” He lifts a shoulder. “Mittens has a bed-hoarding problem. He’s in therapy for it. Don’t judge him

I’m going to marry the shit out of you one day, Zoe. Just wait.”

Book Review : unscripted Nicole Kronzer

Unscripted

Unscripted by Nicole Kronzer

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

May 11-14

A funny and timely debut YA about the toxic masculinity at a famous improv comedy camp

Seventeen-year-old Zelda Bailey-Cho has her future all planned out: improv camp, then Second City, and finally Saturday Night Live. She’s thrilled when she lands a spot on the coveted varsity team at a prestigious improv camp, which means she’ll get to perform for professional scouts—including her hero, Nina Knightley. But even though she’s hardworking and talented, Zelda’s also the only girl on Varsity, so she’s the target for humiliation from her teammates. And her 20-year-old coach, Ben, is cruel to her at practice and way too nice to her when they’re alone. Zelda wants to fight back, but is sacrificing her best shot at her dream too heavy a price to pay?

Equal parts funny and righteous, Unscripted is a moving debut novel that Printz Award winner Nina LaCour calls “a truly special book, written at exactly the right time.”

Review: I loved this book it was a very emotional read but it was funny to . This is about Zelda she is going to a improve camp with her brother and his boyfriend. She meets her bunkmates and they are all very different but awesome girls . Zelda has to deal with a coach who is abusive asshole and her teammates are Jerks who don’t think girls are funny . A lot goes on in this book Zelda also meets some great boy scouts Jesse namely is my favorite he is actually kind to Zelda and respects her. Ben is a monster he assaults her she kicks him to get away he yells at her tells her the only reason she’s on the team is cause she’s hot and she’s a girl but he’s 20 and she’s 17 she’s a minor yet he touched her inappropriately many times and when she tries to tell the two Paul’s in charge they don’t listen. She goes on a hike with Jesse and she tells him she likes him and then when she gets back at camp Ben is there and he hits Jesse and then she hits Ben where the sun don’t shine and she gets kicked out of camp yep thats logic but she ends up staying with Karen the nurse at boy scout camp. And the police officer asks her if she wants to press charges she thinks about it for a second and then the Paul’s say if she doesn’t press charges she can come back to camp what a bunch of assholes so she presses charges. They ended up sneaking her back onto camp so she could meet Nina and they do her sketch she wrote . Everyone needs to read this book.

Quotes:

The situation should be if you two are happy together, everyone else should be happy for you. And not gross-happy.”

Lady doctor? I guess that makes you my gentleman patient.” I looked down at his “chart.” “Ah! I see you’ve had a series of brain injuries that make you say inappropriate things.

I was relying on books by Rainbow Rowell and Nicola Yoon and Maurene Goo and on movies like The Princess Bride and Love, Simon

Hey, Ellie. Come on,” Ben said. “Smile.” “She doesn’t have to smile if she doesn’t want to.”

Is that what you want, Zelda-girl?” Hanna asked. She pushed my knee. “Someone who’s only nice to you sometimes?”

If I leave, they’ll have won.” “If you stay,” Sirena mused, “doesn’t that excuse their behavior?

Will stopped walking. “You know, I’m offended by that. Guys everywhere should be offended. ‘Boys will be boys’? What—we’re so out of control we can’t be kind? Thoughtful? Human? ‘Boys will be boys’ aligns us with wild animals. I can think about what I say before I say it. I can anticipate how someone else might feel before I do something. I can keep it in my pants.”

Book Review : Eight perfect murders Peter Swanson

Eight Perfect Murders (Malcolm Kershaw, #1)

Eight Perfect Murders by Peter Swanson

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

April 15-18

“Fiendish good fun.” —Anthony Horowitz

From the hugely talented author of Before She Knew Him comes a chilling tale of psychological suspense and an homage to the thriller genre tailor-made for fans: the story of a bookseller who finds himself at the center of an FBI investigation because a very clever killer has started using his list of fiction’s most ingenious murders.

Years ago, bookseller and mystery aficionado Malcolm Kershaw compiled a list of the genre’s most unsolvable murders, those that are almost impossible to crack—which he titled “Eight Perfect Murders”—chosen from among the best of the best including Agatha Christie’s A. B. C. Murders, Patricia Highsmith’s Strangers on a Train, Ira Levin’s Death Trap, A. A. Milne’s Red House Mystery, Anthony Berkeley Cox’s Malice Aforethought, James M. Cain’s Double Indemnity, John D. Macdonald’s The Drowner, and Donna Tartt’s A Secret History.

But no one is more surprised than Mal, now the owner of the Old Devils Bookstore in Boston, when an FBI agent comes knocking on his door one snowy day in February. She’s looking for information about a series of unsolved murders that look eerily similar to the killings on Mal’s old list. And the FBI agent isn’t the only one interested in this bookseller who spends almost every night at home reading. There is killer is out there, watching his every move—a diabolical threat who knows way too much about Mal’s personal history, especially the secrets he’s never told anyone, even his recently deceased wife.

To protect himself, Mal begins looking into possible suspects . . . and sees a killer in everyone around him. But Mal doesn’t count on the investigation leaving a trail of death in its wake. Suddenly, a series of shocking twists leaves more victims dead—and the noose around Mal’s neck grows so tight he might never escape.

Review: This book was awesome it was definitely a Rollercoaster of a book this book is about Mal who owns a mystery bookstore and one day the FBI need to ask him some questions about a list he made years ago for the site called eight perfect murders and there have been murders following his list and they need to find out who is doing it and it may be someone Mal knows. Mal has a past know one knows about he hired someone to do a strangers on the train murder he would kill the person they want and they would kill the person Mal wants . Man’s wife was a drug addict and was cheating on him and she got killed in a car crash but he wanted the man dead so that’s where this other guy who is now killing others comes in . Mal must find out who it is. He asks his former cop friend to look into a guy who he thinks did it but then he goes to see the guy who he thinks is the killer but he turns up dead also . Then he goes to his friend and part owner of the bookstore Brian and Tess’s house I was so sure it was Tess but she just wanted to sleep with Mal it was Marty the cop he got a taste of killing after killing the guy Mal wanted him to kill but Mal kills him then calls Gwen and tells her everything and then leaves to kill himself I wasn’t fond of the ending but other than that I loved this book.

Quotes : Books are time travel. True readers all know this. But books don’t just take you back to the time in which they were written; they can take you back to different versions of yourself.

I ran my thumb along the edge of the book, riffling the pages, and that musty, prickly smell of an old paperback reached my nostrils. I’ve always loved that smell,

We never get the whole truth, not from anybody. When we first meet someone, before words are ever spoken, there are already lies and half-truths. The clothes we wear cover the truth of our bodies, but they also present who we want to be to the world. They are fabrications, figuratively and literally.

Book Review: Handsome Death Sara Dobie

Handsome Death

Handsome Death by Sara Dobie Bauer

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

April 11-14

I’m not hunting him; I’m protecting him.
At least, that’s what I tell myself.
In New York City, a beautiful creature like Tristan Clement should not be walking the streets alone, and I’m the perfect vampire to watch his back.
But what if keeping him safe isn’t enough anymore? What if I want to touch? And taste?
I need him. But I’ve never needed anyone.

—————

In a world where paranormal creatures live amongst us and must follow certain laws, living life as a dangerous loner works for vampire Ethan. Inhabiting his gleaming apartment, wearing his designer suits, jetting around the world as a fanged killer-for-hire, Ethan does it all alone.

That is, until he literally runs into Tristan. Tristan, who is clearly trouble wrapped in skinny jeans and an oversized sweater. Tristan, with his shock of angelic blond curls. Tristan, who plays piano more beautifully than the old masters– and Ethan would know; he saw Beethoven.

Tristan is gorgeous, a little sassy, and irresistible. Also, Ethan is horrified to note, Tristan has no idea how incredibly tempting he is to things that go bump in the night.

Overcome by the urge to keep Tristan safe, Ethan begins to… well, stalk is such a strong word. What starts as an obsession quickly becomes something more, something that Ethan needs. And to his surprise, Tristan seems to need him, too…

This darkly romantic tale delivers steamy passion and a happily ever after. Be advised that Handsome Death includes explicit m/m content, stalking, mentions of past abuse, and graphic violence.

Review: This book was so enjoyable this is a vampire male male romance and I loved it . This is about Tris and Ethan in a world where vampires and Humans coexist. Book Review: The legend of the Golden Raven k. Ancrum

The Legend of the Golden Raven (The Wicker King #1.5)

The Legend of the Golden Raven by K. Ancrum

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

April 2-3
K. Ancrum’s The Legend of the Golden Raven novella, part fairy tale and part gritty reality, follows a boy as he descends into madness.

August and Jack weren’t meant to be friends. One is a misfit with a pyro streak and the other a golden boy on the rugby team. But as their relationship intensifies, Jack slowly begins to lose his mind—taking readers on an intimate journey into the fantasy kingdom creeping into the edges of his world.

As the novella moves back and forth between a medieval legend and our own, contemporary world, nothing is as it seems. The boys alienate everyone around them as they struggle with their sanity and as Jack’s quest to fulfill a dark prophecy begins to consume them both . . .

Devour this companion novella to The Wicker King.

Review : this novella was very interesting it was from Jack’s POV and we got to see what he saw and how he loves August and his fantasy world I enjoyed reading it .

Quotes :
You’re the love of my life, you know,” he said bravely.

Book Review: Regretting you Colleen Hoover

Regretting You

Regretting You by Colleen Hoover

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

December 27-January 2

Morgan Grant and her sixteen-year-old daughter, Clara, would like nothing more than to be nothing alike.

Morgan is determined to prevent her daughter from making the same mistakes she did. By getting pregnant and married way too young, Morgan put her own dreams on hold. Clara doesn’t want to follow in her mother’s footsteps. Her predictable mother doesn’t have a spontaneous bone in her body.

With warring personalities and conflicting goals, Morgan and Clara find it increasingly difficult to coexist. The only person who can bring peace to the household is Chris—Morgan’s husband, Clara’s father, and the family anchor. But that peace is shattered when Chris is involved in a tragic and questionable accident. The heartbreaking and long-lasting consequences will reach far beyond just Morgan and Clara.

While struggling to rebuild everything that crashed around them, Morgan finds comfort in the last person she expects to, and Clara turns to the one boy she’s been forbidden to see. With each passing day, new secrets, resentment, and misunderstandings make mother and daughter fall further apart. So far apart, it might be impossible for them to ever fall back together.

Review: This book is beautiful I love colleen Hoover’s books and this is now one of my new favorites of hers it’s so raw and beautiful. This is a duel POV book about a mother and daughter

Its starts out when morgan the mother figures out she’s pregnant at 17 and she’s at this party with her boyfriend his friend and her sister . There are these moments she has with Jonah that she feels something there . Then we get to where her daughter Clara is 16 and she is driving and sees this guy she has a crush on Miller and she gives him a ride home . Tragedy happens when there is a car crash Chris and Jenny were in a crash they were in the car together and they were having an affair Jonah and Morgan were at the hospital when they found this out they died and Morgan is crushed and hurt and doesn’t know what to do . Clara spends her dad’s funeral getting high with Miller her mom finds her and she’s pissed . Clara is so angry at herself cause she thinks her aunt and father dying is her fault . Jonah snaps one day and brings Elijah his son to Morgan saying he cant do this anymore cause Elijah isnt his kid its Chris’s kid what the hell . Clara knocks some sence in him and tells him to pick up his kid and Jonah does . Miller has a girlfriend but she ended up breaking up with him but then they get back together but Clara likes Miller but he keeps sending her these mix signals and she tells him to figure it out so he does and he breaks up with his girlfriend and him and Clara talk and kiss and they finally get together hes liked her since he was 15 . Jonah and Morgan have this moment again where they almost kiss . Miller and Clara work on film project together. Jonah kisses Morgan and clara walked in on them and thinks they were having an affair and then Clara calls Miller to have him come over cause she wants to have sex with Miller to make her mom angry I dont see the reasoning in that . Clara gets drunk and tells her mom she is the reason that her aunt and Dad are dead she asks clara the next day and Clara tries to hide back the tears but she tells her mom but Morgan told her that her dad was driving and then Clara asks why they were in the car together and figures it out they were having an affair she’s angry and sad she asks her mom to drive her to Miller and she does Morgan goes back to the movie theater and talks with clara . Jonah and Morgan talk and are together officially and Elijah says his first word . Clara and Miller show there film and it’s weird but funny and Jonah likes it . But then miller shows Clara his promposal and when he first fell in love with her it was sweet and adorable. Millers gramps has been joking he was leaving miller air but actually is air to land and he can go to his college he wants to now I loved this book .

Quotes:I wonder if humans are the only living creatures that ever feel hollow inside. I don’t understand how my body
can be full of everything bodies are full of—bones and muscles and blood and organs—yet my chest sometimes
feels vacant, as if someone could scream into my mouth and it would echo inside of me.

don’t know if Miller realizes what his attention (or lack thereof) can do to a person. When he looks at you, he
does it in such a way that it makes you feel like the most interesting thing he’s ever seen. He puts his entire body
into the look, somehow.

He’s got a sucker in his mouth, which isn’t unusual. I find his addiction to suckers amusing, but it also gives off
a cocky vibe. I don’t feel like insecure guys would walk around eating candy as much as he does, but he always
shows up to school eating a sucker and usually has one in his mouth at the end of lunch.

It’s unfair how one event . . . one second . . . can shake the world around you. Toss everything on its head. Ruin
every happy moment that led up to that earth-shattering second.

He waves a hand toward Elijah. “He smiled for the first time tonight.” He pauses, as if what he’s about to say
next is too painful to put into words. “Elijah—my son—has Chris’s fucking smile.”

For some reason, sadness in music eases the sadness in my soul. It’s like the worse the heartache in a song is, the
better I feel. Dramatic songs are like a drug, I imagine. Really bad for you, but they make you feel good.

“I’ve never hated watermelon Jolly Ranchers. I only saved them because I knew they were your favorite.”

It makes me sad, because if there’s one thing Jonah Sullivan shouldn’t have to worry about, it’s the way I feel
about him

“So? I guess you finally saw the video of when Miller fell in love with you?” I laugh and lean into Miller. “Your
grandson is a romantic.” Gramps laughs. “No, my grandson is a nitwit. Took him three years to finally ask you
out.” “Patience is a virtue,” Miller says.

Dear Santa,

Please stop by my house and pick up your suit. If you thought I was going to run it to the dry cleaners for you after you left it on my bedroom floor, you’ve got another think coming.

Best,
Noel Winter

Review: I loved the last of this series it was really cute .Noel’s coworker hired her brother to be Santa. An older lady at her work is trying to hook Noel with her grandson . So santa shows up and hits on Noel after they go for hot chocolate and then they hook up and she runs out of her own house oh god . Her coworker tells her she’s sorry that her brother ditched on the Santa event and Noel is confused but it turns out the guy Noel slept with and liked was the womans grandson and his name is Theodore but lets Noel call him teddy and they decide to start dating . A year later ginger is married and pregnant Holly is engaged and Noel is wondering when Teddy is going to so she asks him and he proposes it was adorable.
Quotes :
It’s also clear why Jillian sent the Santa padding along with the costume because her brother does not have the body to play Santa. Unless it was a male stripper version of Santa—

I ask Teddy if I can see his North Pole

Perhaps I could hire him to be my sex elf, then he’d have a job and I’d have a sex elf.

If You Give A Jerk A Gingerbread (Reindeer Falls, #2)

If You Give A Jerk A Gingerbread by Jana Aston

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

December 24

Dear Santa,

I do not want Keller James for Christmas.

I will not fall for him, no matter how charming or irresistible or famous he is. I will not be swayed by his skills in the kitchen or by his British accent. I’m going to win the Great Gingerbread Bake Off and no one is going to stand in my way. Not even Keller.

All kisses are off. I mean all bets. All bets are off. And his clothes, those are off too.

Grr, never mind. I’ll figure this out myself.

XOXO,
Ginger Winter

Review: I loved this one as well even a bit more so this is about ginger winter who is Holly’s younger sister from book one she is competing in a gingerbread competition and she meets a guy named keller who she has the hots for hes British he has his own tv show on food network. Keller likes Ginger and teases her a bit calls her adorable I like them together. They are competing against each other . Ginger shows keller around her town and to this is old auto shop which is her dream place for her Bakeshop but it’s to big for just that . Keller and Ginger sleep together and Ginger confesses to her sister Noel that she’s falling for keller but Noel is distracted cause she slept with Santa . Ginger sees keller buying the auto shop and she’s pissed the last competition is make a gingerbread house and Keller makes a replica of the auto shop and he wants to make it a breakfast place and Bakeshop for them to run together and she says yes such a cute story.

Quotes:

Sweet Pillsbury Doughboy, this is my idea of porn. Keller James sitting before me, praising my baking. If my bakery plan falls apart I know what my next venture will be. Bakery porn. It’ll be nothing but attractive men eating my cookies. The camera will zoom in as their tongues flicker over their lips, sweeping up every last morsel. They’ll probably be shirtless too. I bet I can get subscribers to pay at least four ninety-nine a month for such a service.

I might have zoned out a little with my bakery porn scheme. Fine, I might also have been imagining him shirtless

I wasn’t flirting. You were flirting.” There. That’ll show him. That I’m twelve. Way to spar, Ginger. “Oh, I was definitely flirting,”

Oh, for elf’s sake. Did I really just say “single and ready to mingle?”

I’m having a lovely time. Thank you for inviting me, Ginger.” “I didn’t invite you,” I remind him. “You invited yourself.” “Oh, Gingersnap, you little flirt

Just because my dreams are smaller in nature doesn’t make them any less important or valid.

I’m fairly certain that the only thing I’d enjoy more than bantering with you is kissing you.”

Book Review: Sadie Courtney Summers

Sadie

Sadie by Courtney Summers

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

October 27-November 28

A missing girl on a journey of revenge and a Serial-like podcast following the clues she’s left behind.

Sadie hasn’t had an easy life. Growing up on her own, she’s been raising her sister Mattie in an isolated small town, trying her best to provide a normal life and keep their heads above water.

But when Mattie is found dead, Sadie’s entire world crumbles. After a somewhat botched police investigation, Sadie is determined to bring her sister’s killer to justice and hits the road following a few meager clues to find him.

When West McCray—a radio personality working on a segment about small, forgotten towns in America—overhears Sadie’s story at a local gas station, he becomes obsessed with finding the missing girl. He starts his own podcast as he tracks Sadie’s journey, trying to figure out what happened, hoping to find her before it’s too late.

Courtney Summers has written the breakout book of her career. Sadie is propulsive and harrowing and will keep you riveted until the last page.

Trigger warning pedophilia sexual assault
Review:
This book was a really interesting read I highly recommend the audiobook it was really highly produced .
So this book is told in two POV a podcast called the girls and Sadie’s point of view. Sadie’s younger sister maddie has been murdered and sadie knows who it was and wants to kill him . West the guy doing the podcast is trying to find out about sadie . Sadie finds out information about Keith who is really jack from a woman who dated him and left him cause of his interest. Sadie finds Marley brother silas but first she found his kids and a guy named Javi who she let herself for awhile like but then she stalks silas and finds some unsettling things and tells javi to call the police on him and he does get arrested thankfully. West is still finding out information about sadie and interviewing people she was using her middle name with people she was meeting . Sadie gets a motel room and finds this is a place Keith/jack stayed she has to get into that room so she does and she finds trofies from other girls hes abused with that she finds him and there was an altercation and I think we can guess what happened. West finds the last woman he was with Amanda and her daughter who was abused also jack is dead from an untreated stab wound probably from sadie . The ending yes it’s not satisfying but I think its realistic cause sometimes girls dont get found but I think we can guess jack killed sadie and he killed madie the DNA matched that so at least that was solved .

Quotes :
And it begins, as so many stories do, with a dead girl

But love is complicated, it’s messy. It can inspire selflessness, selfishness, our greatest accomplishments and our hardest mistakes. It brings us together and it can just as easily drive us apart.

I wish this was a love story. A love story about lovers whose mouths meet like two puzzle pieces fitting perfectly into place, about the electric feeling of one person’s name on the other’s tongue because no one has ever spoken them out loud like that before. About people who spend the night together looking at the stars until entire constellations exist within them. Everyone is perfect in that indistinct way most characters are and every perfectly constructed scene in their fictional lives is somehow more real than anything you’ve known or lived. Love stories, romances, leave a person secure in the knowledge they’ll end Happily Ever After and who wouldn’t want a story like that? I wish this was a love story because I know how it goes in one like mine, where the only moments of reprieve are the spaces between its lines. But here’s the thing I tell myself to dull the sharp edges of everything that’s surely left to come: The worst has already happened.

And Sadie, if you’re out there, please let me know. Because I can’t take another dead girl.”

Her path to escaping her shameful past certainly doesn’t include a gorgeous hockey player who believes in love at first sight. One night of sizzling heat and surprising tenderness is all she’s willing to give John Tucker, but sometimes, one night is all it takes for your entire life to change.

But the game just got a whole lot more complicated…

Tucker believes being a team player is as important as being the star. On the ice, he’s fine staying out of the spotlight, but when it comes to becoming a daddy at the age of twenty-two, he refuses to be a bench warmer. It doesn’t hurt that the soon-to-be mother of his child is beautiful, whip-smart, and keeps him on his toes. The problem is, Sabrina’s heart is locked up tight, and the fiery brunette is too stubborn to accept his help. If he wants a life with the woman of his dreams, he’ll have to convince her that some goals can only be made with an assist.

Quotes :I love Jamie and I love Tucker and if, at any time, Harvard or work or anything threatens their happiness in any way, I would give it all up in a minute.” Her brown eyes widen. But I’m not done. “He and Jamie are the most important things in my life,” I say fiercely. “And everything I’m doing right now is to make sure that I keep them in my life, to make sure I can contribute to our family and give Jamie a better childhood than the one I had to deal with

My goal, once upon a time, was to succeed. I didn’t realize that success wasn’t grades or scholarships or achievements, but the people I was lucky enough to have in my life. As I look around the room, I want to give everyone a hug and a thank-you. A hug to express how much I love them and a thank-you for loving me back. Because love is the ultimate goal. It’s not the one I had strived for, but I was lucky enough, so damn lucky, to achieve it.

You’re the only one for me. My sun rises and sets on your smile. My heart beats because yours does.
Poor guy. The ladies go wild for Colin Fitzgerald, but in all the years I’ve known him, he’s been incredibly selective about who he goes out with. I think deep down he’s as old-fashioned as I am.

When I offer her some ice chips to chew on, she tells me to shove them up my ass. The one time I peeked over Doctor Laura’s shoulder at Sabrina’s lady parts, she told me that if I did that one more time, she’d break my hockey stick and stab me with it.

Sabrina James isn’t used to people loving her. Sometimes I wonder if she even knows how to love someone back, but then I see her with our daughter, the way her face softens with love and adoration every time she looks at Jamie, and I know she’s capable of feeling deeply.

“Why Gigi?” she asks slowly. Hannah sighs again. The name suddenly clicks in my head. Oh for fuck’s sake. “G.G.,” I mutter to Sabrina. “As in Garrett Graham.” She’s silent for a beat. Then she bursts out laughing, triggering giggles from Grace and eventually Hannah, who keeps shaking her head at her boyfriend. “What?” Garrett says defensively. “The godfather should have a say in the name. It’s in the rule book.” “What rule book?” Hannah bursts out. “You make up the rules as you go along!” “So?”

Garrett is holding a tiny newborn doll. Which is missing its head, by the way. “You fucking took it home?” Logan sounds outraged. “Hell yeah I did. What use were they going to have for it there? It doesn’t have a head, bro.” “Where’s ‘there’?” I ask carefully, though I’m not sure I want to know the answer. “Newborn CPR,” Garrett explains. “We took a course at the campus health center this morning.” “Newborn CPR?” Sabrina shakes her head, dazed. “It was the grace under pressure test.” Garrett smiles smugly. “Which he failed. I, of course, passed with flying colors.” “Is it my fault I don’t know my own strength?” Logan protests. “Yes!” Garrett says in a spurt of laughter. “That is totally your fault.” He holds up the doll and waves it around tauntingly. “Show me on the doll where your brain is. Oh right, you can’t. Because you fucking decapitated it

Him: Is that like naked Twister? Me: I have no clue. I send him the picture. Maybe he can make some sense out of it, because I sure can’t. Him: Was this taken with an actual camera or drawn by tiny leprechauns? Me: Carin’s a scientist, not an artist. Btw did u find someone? Him: Yes. My buddy Fitz is coming and b4 u ask, I have no idea re: his oral skills. But he’s hella smart, has a mean slapshot, and I’ve never heard any complaints. I take a screenshot of that text and send it to Carin. Me: Is this OK? Her: Can I have a pic? I text Tuck, Can she have a pic? Him: Of what? Dear God. This is a ridiculous game of actual telephone. Me: Tucker says: of what? Her: Face, abs, ass. No dick I take yet another screenshot and shoot that off to Tucker. While he considers the request, I wash my face and brush my teeth. By the time I climb into bed, there’s a message waiting for me. A picture of a gorgeous dark-haired guy flipping Tucker off fills my screen.

Wow. It’s incredible how hot these Briar hockey players are. Is that a requirement of making the team? Be able to slap the puck a hundred miles an hour and also star in the calendar?

Me: I’m bringing my friend Carin and u need to bring the hottest guy u know. Him: I’m the hottest guy I know. Will look for 2nd hottest guy on campus. She have any preferences? Me: Someone who knows how to use his tongue. Him: Again, that’d be me. Not sure how I’ll find out how good the other guys are w/ their equipment. Not a topic that comes up a lot. Me: That’s the price of my time. Him: On it.

Dean shoved a dildo up his ass last night.” Fitzy nods. “Makes sense.”

Damn, who would’ve thought that gingers could be so hot?

Hey, what if I said I was still interested?” I turn around to meet his eyes. “That’d be too bad.” Beau chuckles. “I thought so. Well, more power to you, dude, but I’m warning you—there are easier women than Sabrina.” “Why would I want someone easy?” I flash him a grin. “That doesn’t sound like any fun.”
