A contemporary novel about three adopted siblings who find each other at just the right moment.
Being the middle child has its ups and downs.
But for Grace, an only child who was adopted at birth, discovering that she is a middle child is a different ride altogether. After putting her own baby up for adoption, she goes looking for her biological family, including—
Maya, her loudmouthed younger bio sister, who has a lot to say about their newfound family ties. Having grown up the snarky brunette in a house full of chipper redheads, she’s quick to search for traces of herself among these not-quite-strangers. And when her adopted family’s long-buried problems begin to explode to the surface, Maya can’t help but wonder where exactly it is that she belongs.
And Joaquin, their stoic older bio brother, who has no interest in bonding over their shared biological mother. After seventeen years in the foster care system, he’s learned that there are no heroes, and secrets and fears are best kept close to the vest, where they can’t hurt anyone but him.

John Bishop isn’t your typical single dad. Reserved, impatient, and utterly clueless.
Running the family’s bed and breakfast has many perks. Working long hours, picking up after the guests, and hearing couples going at it all night long aren’t any of them. Hooking up with girls who come to the ranch for horseback riding lessons? Best perk of them all.
That is until a baby shows up at his doorstep with a note claiming it’s his. Growing up on a ranch was anything but easy, but raising a newborn is proving to be the hardest task he’ll ever tackle. Leaving the bachelor life behind, his only priority is to hire a nanny who can teach him a thing or two about parenting — except he doesn’t anticipate her being gorgeous and quirky with an unhealthy football obsession.
Mila Carmichael has many talents — making balloon animals, creating origami art, and remaining in the friend zone. Often seen as one of the guys, she’s struck out more times than a rookie baseball player.
Seeking a new adventure, she flies to Texas to visit family and is offered a position she can’t refuse. Helping out a new dad should come easy to her, considering her past experience, but what she doesn’t anticipate is him being an attractive Southern temptation.
But that’s only the beginning.
While growing close to his family and falling madly in love with the baby girl who’s stealing their hearts, things are bound to get complicated. Everyone knows not to mix business with pleasure. That means no late movie nights, no stolen glances, and definitely no kissing behind closed doors. Too bad the universe has other plans — one that’ll threaten taking away the main thing that binds them together.
Review : John is my favorite of the brothers I just love him . John finds out he’s a father the mother passed away they dated briefly so now he has an adorable daughter . Quotes:
In fact, if we didn’t have the same face and body build, I’d swear he was adopted.
I promise to give you the best life I can,”
Well I tried gettin’ rid of him, but he just keeps comin’ back…kind of like a stray dog,”
“Don’t have to worry about that. I’m not attracted to him at all,” she says, but the ghost of a smile plays on her lips. “Pretty sure I should be offended by that,
Kat: Don’t do anything I wouldn’t do. Actually, do everything I would do. John Bishop is S-E-X on legs! Mila: I’m deleting this whole thread. It could be used as evidence in your murder later
This is exactly why I don’t ever wear jewelry. John starts laughing hysterically, and I can only turn just enough to see his profile. “Are you seriously laughing at me right now?” He brings a hand up and smacks my ass. “Best view I’ve had in a long time.” I groan, trying to swat him away from me with my free hand. “You’re an asshole.” “I warned ya,” he gloats. “Warned me about what?” “Wearing that would get you in trouble, and now your ass and thong are hanging out of your pants as we drive by all the ranch hands on their lunch breaks.”
Yeah, but these Bishop boys have a way of making you feel like you’ve known them forever.”
Oh,” he says, turning around to face me. “John thinks you and I hooked up the night you went out not too long ago. I didn’t exactly deny it, so he might be less grumpy if he knew the truth.” “Oh my God! Jackson Bishop!” I shout, laughing at his pathetic expression. “You’re awful! No wonder he’s been avoiding me like the black plague.” “Well, keep walking around without a top on, and he’ll be on you like chicken pox.”
“That one was an impulse decision when we were eighteen. We really are identical, down to the tats.”
Don’t worry, kid. Uncle Jackson will get you the right gear for livin’ out here.” He winks, and the tone of his voice has Maize kicking her feet and smiling like crazy. It’s ridiculous how much she responds to him, but not at all surprising, considering he looks like John. “I’m her favorite,” Jackson taunts.
I snort, laughing. “That’s because she thinks you’re Daddy. You share the same face, so don’t go getting a big head about yourself.” “Too late,” Kiera chimes in. “It’s so big, he has to get custom-made hats to fit his rather large ego.”
“Pretty sure that violates the dress code,” I tease, squeezing as I rub my thumb over her taut nipple. “I already told you I wasn’t going to follow one. And considering the first time we met you were in a towel, I figured clothing was optional.”
“I still remember that towel around your waist when I walked in, holding on by the grace of God because it was nearly painted on your body. I thought for sure it was going to fall at any moment. Especially when you started yelling at me and wailing your arms around like I was a trespassing sorority girl
“Maize wanted to ask you a question.” I smirk, jerking my head down to her T-shirt. Mila squats down to her level and straightens her shirt so she can read it. “Will you marry my daddy?” she reads
“I’m still shocked Jackson’s the only one without a kid,” Dad blurts out. “Makes me wonder if all those stories he tells about women are actually true.”
Evan Bishop is your typical hotshot doctor. Hardass, brooding, and all business.
Instead of working on the family ranch, Evan broke the mold and became an ER doctor. He’s good with his hands—in more ways than one—smart as a whip and is the definition of God’s gift to women. Being a gentleman is in his Southern roots, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t flawed. Exclusive dating has never been a top priority and his tragic past makes him stay at arm’s length. Deciding to let loose for a wild night, he takes a page from the Bishop brother’s relationship book and hooks up with a mysterious girl he’ll never have to see again, which is perfect for this self-proclaimed bachelor.
Emily Bell is a city girl through and through but is determined to get away from her family and past. All she wants is a fresh start and to make a name for herself in the medical field. No random hookups and no dating coworkers—that’s her new motto after being burned time and again. When she agrees to attend a wedding as a plus-one, she’s soon ditched and left to drink solo—but not for long. Mr. Suit is the ultimate temptation with his Southern charm, messy blond hair, and irresistible sex appeal. Everything about him screams bad news, but he makes her reconsider her rules just for one night.
After all, some rules are made to be broken.
They want the same thing—one night of passion then they’ll go their separate ways. No cuddling afterward. No next day phone calls. No awkward goodbyes. Too bad the universe has other plans—one that’ll be obvious when they report to work on Monday morning.
Review : I love this series Evan and Emily meet at Alex’s wedding and end up hooking up Emily gave Evan a fake name when she wakes up she can’t remember his name so calls her friend and thinks it’s drew who is Courtney’s husband and she takes his clothes . They end up getting closer she meets the rest of his family . one night when Evan is trying to get a sex toy removed from a couple Evan is trying to page Emily but she isn’t answering the man took her hostage but the cops get there in time but he stabbed Evan but he’s alright and Emily is pregnant . Evan ends up proposing to emily I love this series it’s so cute.
Quotes : It’s crazy when you find the person you’re meant to be with, and you just know she’s your other half.”
How can you even tell them apart?” She glances over at me and smirks. “John’s much more serious. Jackson’s hair is a little longer, too.” “He’s pretty good lookin’,” I whisper, admiring his chiseled and neatly trimmed jawline. “If you dated John and I dated Jackson, that’d be perfect!” she whisper-shouts
I will as long as you take off your clothes,” I tease, desperate to see what’s underneath them. It’s obvious how built and muscular he is, but the moment he unbuttons his shirt and reveals his broad shoulders and chest, I nearly drop to my knees and thank baby Jesus for blessing me with this sinful view. Washboard abs that form into a delicious V have me moaning aloud. “Like what you see?” His cocky grin only adds to his appeal. Confidence is sexy in a man,
My brothers have the biggest mouths in the south.
That’s the woman who stole my goddamn clothes,
It wasn’t the other random groomsmen I hooked up with; it was Alex’s oldest brother, Evan Bishop. Fucking hell.
Oh yeah.” She laughs. “Apparently, he called John for some clothes, but Jackson’s the one who delivered them, which were all ranch work clothes he would never wear, then when he tried to leave, the entire family was downstairs of the B&B.
“You owe me one. Remember that time I brought you clothes when you were butt-ass naked?” “And remember the type of clothes you brought me knowing I had no other choice but to wear them?” I remind him. He lets out a chuckle, which doesn’t help his case.
One drink, then I’m leaving. I’m not kidding. I will leave your ass to be hit on by all the cougars who want you in their beds,” I warn. “The thought of that is almost appealing.”
Kiera, you keep moaning like that, and Jackson’s gonna come in his pants,” I say just loud enough for the five of us to hear. Emily chokes on her food as soon as the words come out of my mouth,
You look like one too,” I say just as John walks up. He’s pissed, and when I look over at Jackson, I realize it’s because they’re wearing the same thing, to a T. “How’re the ladies going to tell you two apart?” I joke, trying to contain my laughter. “Considering Jackson doesn’t know how to keep his damn mouth shut, I doubt it’ll be too hard.” John says with a smile.
Emily…” I whisper in her ear. “I will do anything if you bid on me. And I do mean anything.” I see her cheeks heat as she contemplates my words. “Hmm, I don’t know. I kinda enjoy watching you sweat.” “C’mon, you can’t hate me that much. Plus you kind of owe me for saving your life and all.”
“Dylan Hart. You’re up next, baby.” Jessica’s voice pulls me out of my daze, and I watch as Dylan struts up the stage in a fitted suit. He’s tall and lean, wearing a cowboy hat and boots. “If any of you ladies are brave enough to bid on my man, you better be fifty and older.” The crowd chuckles.
John has more women in his bed than I do. Everyone thinks I’m the player, and I’ll happily take the title, but John has me beat by a long shot. He’s just too modest to admit it.”
Oh my God.” John groans. “Stop it. You’re giving my face a bad name.”

Review : This book was crazy these people are kinda fucked up . Anne and Marco left there baby at home alone and when they come back the door is open and the baby isn’t there . Anne calls the cops and the detective is trying to find out what’s going on . Anne has postpartum depression and the detective thinks Anne and Marco might of killed her . The detective asks why they left the baby alone and they explain the neighbor didn’t want the baby there . I hated Cynthia she complained Anne wasn’t fun because she had a baby like what the fuck . So apparently Marco’s business wasn’t doing well and he went to Anne’s father for a loan and he said no so when drinking one night a guy comes up to Marco and they talk about doing a fake kidnapping so he kidnapped his own daughter mostly WTF but then the guy shows up dead . Anne’s father was actually involved cause he wanted to leave his wife but he knew he had no money so he was arrested . Anne gets Cora back . Anne goes next door to talk to Cynthia she was having an affair with her father and Cynthia says the baby should of died and Anne freaking kills her but doesn’t remember that how it ends WTF .

Quote : Jesus. It looks like you blew a unicorn.” I motion to his cock, then use the counter to pull myself up. “So does that mean it looks like you fucked a unicorn?” “I feel like I need to retract the whole unicorn statement, because I really don’t want that image in my head before we have sex.”
“I have a ferret that needs to be played with!” Bane comes barging through the door. I expect him to be holding Francesca, their pet ferret, who has been penned up in her cage because it’s not safe for her with all the pins and stuff. But apparently Bane isn’t referring to his pet. It’s the one in his pants he’d like Ruby to play with. And I’m looking at it right now. “Holy mother!” I bring my hand up to cover my eyes because I’m unable to look away. I think I might be having a hot flash. All I managed to get a glimpse of was the head, because Bancroft’s enormous fist is covering the entire shaft.
“Bane, put that away! You’re scaring Amie!” I’m actually not sure if he’s scaring her at all. She has her hand up in front of her face, but she’s clearly peeking through her fingers. I’ve shared the size of Bane’s cock with her. I’ve mentioned my new religion: the Church of Bane Cock
Lex flipped up his skirt thing.” At my confused expression she fills in the blank. “He wasn’t wearing underwear.” “Oh!” As that news sets in I ask what I assume I already know, based on the reaction of the women in the audience. “I assume that means he’s . . . ample.” “Well.” Amie gulps half of her second glass of champagne in one swallow. “I sincerely hope he’s a shower and not a grower, otherwise we should consider renaming him Vlad the Vagina Impaler.” I snort. “You’re exaggerating.” “Oh no, I am not. He could destroy someone with that thing.” Her cheeks flush,
My Batman, my Bruce Wayne, my filthy-mouthed Prince Charming.

But when the newly-evicted Ruby arrives to meet her new employer, it turns out Bane is the same guy who got her sick. Quotes :
Unless I’m looking to draw attention to my pleasure center, I think I’m going to have to pick another option.” “It wouldn’t hurt. Bancroft is hot, and from what I’ve heard he has an excellent skill set in the bedroom.”
Well, you sure did screw my mouth. At first I think those words are in my head, until I watch his eyebrows rise. “I screwed your mouth?” “Uh. With your tongue. When you kissed me, with tongue. You screwed—” Oh God, Ruby, stop talking. “My mouth. With your tongue.” And he did it, very, very well. My lady parts agree with this assessment,
Oh man. He’s going to change his shirt. In front of me. In an enclosed space. I wonder if I have enough time to grab my phone and snap a couple of pictures as he pulls the Harvard tee over his head.
Ruby Santos knew exactly what she was getting herself into when she signed up to write a soldier overseas. The guidelines were simple: one letter or email a week for the length of his or her deployment. Care packages were optional.Been there, done that. She thought she knew what to expect. What she didn’t count on was falling in love with the guy.

Quotes :
If there was one thing I’d learned over the last few years, it was that just because you cared about someone, and just because they made it seem like they cared about you too, didn’t really mean a single thing at the end of the day. I’d take what I’d been given and be happy with it.
Beauty fades, a good personality and chemistry doesn’t.
It’s me,” he drawled, steady and consistent, that slight Louisiana accent tinting his words
I was panting and trying not to pant at the same time, as the baritone voice on the phone seemed to steamroll my entire soul to the carpet floor. I wasn’t sure what I’d been expecting from Aaron, but I hadn’t been expecting the not-too-soft but just-deep-enough voice on the other end of the line. It was just in the middle. Friendly. Deep but not too deep. A little raspy. Perfect. It was right then that it sank in. He’d answered. I’d called Aaron and he’d answered. I was on the phone with Aaron. “Rubes?”
That term “wearing your heart on your sleeve” had been written with me in mind.
If there was one thing I’d learned over the last few years, it was that just because you cared about someone, and just because they made it seem like they cared about you too, didn’t really mean a single thing at the end of the day. I’d take what I’d been given and be happy with it.
I want to meet you.” Just like that. I want to meet you. He let out a soft breath over the phone. “I’m not going to kill you in your sleep.” That made me snort. “I wasn’t thinking
Standing not even five feet away, with a torn-out piece of notebook paper in his hands that said RC SANTOS in thick, scribbly red letters, was a man. Not a boy. Not a man-boy. A man I could have looked at all day for the rest of my life. With neat, short, golden blond hair on his head that I noticed first thing, and a deep tan covering every inch of his exposed skin, I stopped breathing. Deep-set eyes, high cheekbones and a mouth that was pretty darn full for any gender, seemed to tie in together to shape a face that was too good-looking. Way too good-looking. He looked like a model. If this was him, it was no wonder he’d had so many girlfriends and they’d all been nuts.
I want to meet you, and I’m not giving you any time to think about it. You’re telling me you’re worried, and I’m pushing you into it. That’s selfish, and you know what, Rube? I don’t give much of a shit.” Was I dead? Was this a dream? Had my mom baked mushrooms into dinner last night and I was still on some sort of weird trip? I moaned. This was crazy, and I told him exactly that. “So what? It’s crazier for me to think about a girl your age going places by herself,” he said. “I’ve got you, Ruby Cube.” Ruby Cube. It had killed me the first time I read it and killed me every time since then when I saw the RC he wrote me.
Aaron Hall, who was even more gorgeous than I ever could have imagined, was in front of me and I was freaking the hell out. I was freaking the hell out.
You’re gorgeous,” I said to him almost painfully, prying the words out. “Like… the army should put you on their recruitment ads or put you as the face on their website. I feel like I can’t look you in the eye or I’ll turn into stone, and they’ll need to add my statue to a garden of other women who have made eye contact with you before and lost their lives.” Aaron just stared at me for a moment, just a moment, and slowly that wavering smile turned into a full-fledged one, one with straight white teeth and warmth to it that couldn’t be faked, that could have had angels singing and playing harps in the background. “You smile a lot more than I thought you would,” I kept going. “You said you never really smiled while you were over there.” “I don’t usually smile so much,” was his cryptic answer. I scratched at my neck again and watched him, nerves making a nest in my belly. Anxiety prickled at the center of my chest, and so, so hesitantly I said, “I was worried you were going to be disappointed meeting me.” Those brown eyes seemed to twinkle a little, his eyebrows shaping, his mouth doing that turning thing like he was trying to stop smiling. My hands were starting to get itchy. But then he said the words that made a dozen more butterflies explode into existence. “I’m really damn happy to see you, Ruby.” His voice was quiet, not hesitant but more cautious. “I look at you and I can’t stop smiling. That’s all. You’re adorable
I shrieked. I could be woman enough to admit that I shouted at the top of my lungs the second something brushed my leg in the water. I could also be woman enough to admit that when whatever it was touched me, and I yelled in this high-pitched voice that could have made a dog howl, I jumped. I jumped in the air. I projected myself at the closest thing to me despite being hip-deep in the water. That closest thing being six feet two inches of man named Aaron. Except at that point, Aaron hadn’t been facing me or had his back to me, we had been practically beside each other, and it was only his lightning-quick reflexes at hearing me shout that he managed to catch me right before I barreled into him.
Do you…?” I couldn’t say it. I couldn’t say it, but I needed to. Had to. The words came out of me in syllables, a blush rising to my face at the fact that I was even about to ask this because it seemed so unreal. “Do you like me? Is that what you’re trying to say?” He squeezed my hip, his gaze intent. “Yes.” My entire world went hazy as I got out, with more hope than I ever could have dreamed, “As more than a friend?” All of Aaron’s facial features gentled and dropped, even his shoulders seemed to slump a little, those mahogany eyes boring right into mine, capturing them and not letting them go as he said one word and only one word, “Yes.” It was a miracle my mouth didn’t just drop open so I’d gape at him. “As a lot more than just a friend,
Mostly though, Rubes, I want to go back in time and beat every single person’s ass who’s ever made you doubt yourself, because the girl who makes me smile ‘til my face hurts even on a shit day needs to see that in herself. I feel like I owe it to you.” Aaron kissed my temple, and I couldn’t breathe, couldn’t think, couldn’t get my cells to move. My legs were weak. And if that wasn’t enough, he kept going. He kept going. “I was a goner from the first time you gave me hell.” Aaron smiled. “Maybe even before then.”
You’re my Ruby, and you have been for a long time.”
“Maybe this is the wrong time, but I don’t care. I love you, stalker.” With the side of my face to the warm, damp skin of his chest, he whispered the words right back to me as another hand landed on the small of my back. “I love you too, Ruby Cube. You know that.”
“I love you, stalker. Time. Distance. Nothing is going to change that. We’ll figure this out, I promise.”
Aaron: Have I told you today how happy I am you got stuck with me? And how could I be sad after that?
June 2 2017 – may 11 2018 Feyre has returned to the Spring Court, determined to gather information on Tamlin’s maneuverings and the invading king threatening to bring Prythian to its knees. So the war is going to happen and this stupid king mostly wants the wall down between human and fae and he wants to kill a lot of people Rysand and Feyre are trying to get other courts to side with them for this war and tamlin shows up to the meeting it was kinda intense . We also find out Lucian’s father isn’t actually his father omg . More tells feyre that she prefers women to men but nobody but feyre knows .when the day of the fight starts its intense amen becomes full fae the king is dead cause nesta killed him Rysand died for like a second and I was sobbing but he was brought back I loved this book and can’t wait to read from other characters.
Quotes
But Cassian snorted. “I was wondering when the come-ons would begin.” Helion threw himself onto the couch across from Cassian and Mor. He’d ditched that radiant crown somewhere, but kept that gold armband of the upright serpent. “It’s been what—four centuries now, and you three still haven’t accepted my offer.” Mor lolled her head to the side. “I don’t like to share, unfortunately.” “You never know until you try,” Helion purred. The three of them in bed … with him? I must have been blinking like a fool because Rhys said to me, Helion favors both males and females. Usually together in his bed. And has been hounding after that trio for centuries. I considered—Helion’s beauty and the others … Why the hell haven’t they said yes? Rhys barked a laugh that had all of them looking at him with raised brows. My mate just came up behind me and slid his arms around my waist, pressing a kiss to my neck. Would you like someone to join us in bed, Feyre darling? My skin stretched tight over my bones at the tone, the suggestion. You’re incorrigible. I think you’d like two males worshipping you. My toes curled. Mor cleared her throat. “Whatever you’re saying mind to mind, either share it or go to another room so we don’t have to sit here, stewing in your scents.” I stuck out my tongue. Rhys laughed again, kissing my neck once more before saying, “Apologies for offending your delicate sensibilities, cousin.”
Rhys slid his hands into his pockets. “I figure it’s time for the world to know who really has the largest wingspan.”
“As High Lady, Feyre is no longer my emissary to the human world.” He gave Nesta a tentative smile. “Want the job?” Nesta’s face yielded nothing, but I could have sworn some spark flared. “Consider this meeting a trial basis. And I’ll make you pay through the teeth for my services.” Rhys sketched a bow. “I would expect nothing less of an Archeron sister.” I poked him in the ribs, and he huffed a laugh. “Welcome to the court,” he said to her. “You’re about to have one hell of a first day.” And to my eternal shock, a smile tugged at Nesta’s mouth. “No going back now,” Cassian said to Rhys, gesturing to his wings
“Together, we stared at our reflection. Lord and Lady Night. “Ready to be wicked?” he purred in my ear.
Azriel shrugged. “We—Rhys, Cass, and I—will occasionally remind each other that what we think to be our greatest weakness can sometimes be our biggest strength. And that the most unlikely person can alter the course of history.”
“I believe everything happens for a reason. Whether it is decided by the Mother, or the Cauldron, or some sort of tapestry of Fate, I don’t know. I don’t really care. But I am grateful for it, whatever it is. Grateful that it brought you all into my life. If it hadn’t… I might have become as awful as that prick we’re going to face today. If I had not met an Illyrian warrior-in-training,” he said to Cassian, “I would not have known the true depths of strength, of resilience, of honor and loyalty.” Cassian’s eyes gleamed bright. Rhys said to Azriel, “If I had not met a shadowsinger, I would not have known that it is the family you make, not the one you are born into, that matters. I would not have known what it is to truly hope, even when the world tells you to despair.” Azriel bowed his head in thanks. Mor was already crying when Rhys spoke to her. “If I had not met my cousin, I would neer have learned that light can be found in even the darkest of hells. That kidness can thrive even amongst cruelty.” She wiped away her teas as she nodded. I waited for Amren to offer a retort. But she was only waiting. Rhys bowed his head to her. “If I had not met a tiny monster who hoards jewels more fiercely than a firedrake…” A quite laugh from all of us at that. Rhys smiled softly. “My own power would have consumed me long ago.” Rhys squeezed my hand as he looked to me at last. “And if I had not met my mate…” His words failed him as silver lined his eyes. He said down the bond, I would have waited five hundred more years for you. A thousand years. And if this was all the time we were allowed to have… The wait was worth it.
I met those laughing, fierce hazel eyes. Cassian’s smile softened. “Hello, Feyre.” My throat tightened to the point of pain, and I threw my arms around his neck, embracing him tightly. “I missed you, too,” Cassian murmured, squeezing me.”
Vivian Carter is fed up. Fed up with her small-town Texas high school that thinks the football team can do no wrong. Fed up with sexist dress codes and hallway harassment. But most of all, Viv Carter is fed up with always following the rules.
Viv’s mom was a punk rock Riot Grrrl in the ’90s, so now Viv takes a page from her mother’s past and creates a feminist zine that she distributes anonymously to her classmates. She’s just blowing off steam, but other girls respond. Pretty soon Viv is forging friendships with other young women across the divides of cliques and popularity rankings, and she realizes that what she has started is nothing short of a girl revolution
Review : I really loved this book it was awesome vivian gets inspired by her mom’s zines to create this zine called moxie girls and thats what I loved this whole girl power thing. There are a lot of douche bag guys in vivians school , vivian ends up making friends with a girl name lucy and I really like lucy and vivians friendship. The whole dress code shit is such a sexist bullshit , but sadly its a real thing that happens . Vivian meets the new guy in her school while sneaking into the school early to pass out moxie he keeps her secret and they end up going out on a date which was sweet . After someone made an announcement of a walk out cause the principle son almost raped this girl it happens the walk out happens and what I loved about this book it gives girls a voice I really want to read more books like this .
Quotes
it occurs to me that this is what it means to be a feminist. Not a humanist or an equalist or whatever. But a feminist. It’s not a bad word. After today it might be my favorite word. Because really all it is is girls supporting each other and wanting to be treated like human beings in a world that’s always finding ways to tell them they’re not.”
Making girls monitor their behavior and their appearance because boys are supposedly unable to control themselves? That is one of the oldest fucking tricks in the book.”
At once wildly original and stuffed with irresistible nostalgia, READY PLAYER ONE is a spectacularly genre-busting, ambitious, and charming debut–part quest novel, part love story, and part virtual space opera set in a universe where spell-slinging mages battle giant Japanese robots, entire planets are inspired by Blade Runner, and flying DeLoreans achieve light speed.
It’s the year 2044, and the real world is an ugly place.
Like most of humanity, Wade Watts escapes his grim surroundings by spending his waking hours jacked into the OASIS, a sprawling virtual utopia that lets you be anything you want to be, a place where you can live and play and fall in love on any of ten thousand planets.
And like most of humanity, Wade dreams of being the one to discover the ultimate lottery ticket that lies concealed within this virtual world. For somewhere inside this giant networked playground, OASIS creator James Halliday has hidden a series of fiendish puzzles that will yield massive fortune–and remarkable power–to whoever can unlock them.
For years, millions have struggled fruitlessly to attain this prize, knowing only that Halliday’s riddles are based in the pop culture he loved–that of the late twentieth century. And for years, millions have found in this quest another means of escape, retreating into happy, obsessive study of Halliday’s icons. Like many of his contemporaries, Wade is as comfortable debating the finer points of John Hughes’s oeuvre, playing Pac-Man, or reciting Devo lyrics as he is scrounging power to run his OASIS rig.
And then Wade stumbles upon the first puzzle.
Suddenly the whole world is watching, and thousands of competitors join the hunt–among them certain powerful players who are willing to commit very real murder to beat Wade to this prize. Now the only way for Wade to survive and preserve everything he knows is to win. But to do so, he may have to leave behind his oh-so-perfect virtual existence and face up to life–and love–in the real world he’s always been so desperate to escape.
A world at stake.
A quest for the ultimate prize.
Are you ready?

Quotes:
“People who live in glass houses should shut the fuck up.
I created the OASIS because I never felt at home in the real world. I didn’t know how to connect with the people there. I was afraid, for all of my life, right up until I knew it was ending. That was when I realized, as terrifying and painful as reality can be, it’s also the only place where you can find true happiness. Because reality is real.”
“You could shove it up your ass and pretend you’re a corn dog.”
My life plan is to be brutally honest all the way to the bank. Don’t believe me? I run a popular YouTube channel called TrashyZane, and my claim to fame is oversharing about every aspect of my personal life. Sometimes while tipsy. Not everyone loves my style, but I have a long history of icing out people who can’t handle me. I have no time for judgmental foolishness.
Except, apparently, when it comes to Beau Starr. His channel is the polar opposite of mine, and so is he. Wholesome, inspirational, and clean-cut. Everything about him should turn me off, but when we hook up following a confrontation at a convention, my world flips upside down. Not only does Beau Starr turn me on, he uses the exact combination of dirty talk and roughness needed to turn me out.
But we still hate each other. I think

Quotes:
Let’s be real, kids. The world sucks. Family sucks. And being expected to be eternally indebted to the people who bumped uglies and squirted you out? That sucks. You’re not beholden to anyone.”
Hey, this is Beau Starr. Next time you want to use my name to get views, you can just go ahead and put my name on your title. Guaranteed to make you trend, actually. #ProTip.
Right, Beautifuls?” he asked. “He’s getting cocky because he’s up one point. Fuck that. Put on the blindfold, Beau
Beau has facial hair?” Ian clutched his boyfriend’s shoulders. “I honestly thought he had laser hair removal.” “Seriously?” I said, at the same time Jesse rolled his eyes. “I can grow a beard if I want to. I just never want to, okay? It comes in patchy and it itches.” “Huh.” Ian watched me suspiciously, like I was going to turn into a werewolf. “I’m just having a bit of a lie-in,” I said. Ian’s eyes got bigger. “A lie-in? What are you, British?” Jesse
I kinda like you, Zane. A lot.” His eyelids fell to half-mast. “I like you too, Beau. A lot.

Quotes:
And I’m platonically in love with you.”
“That was literally the boy-girl version of ‘no homo’, but I appreciate the sentiment.
“I wonder sometimes whether you’ve exploded already, like a star, and what I’m seeing you is three million years into the past, and you’re not here anyore. How can we be together here, now, when you are so far away. When you are so far ago? I’m shouting so loudly, but you never turn around to see me. Perhaps it is I who have already exploded. Either way, we are going to bring beautiful things into the universe.”
I wonder- if nobody is listening to my voice, am I making any sound at all?”
I think everyone’s a bit bored with boy-girl romances anyway,” he said. “I think the world’s had enough of those, to be honest.”
