Book Review: November 9 Colleen Hoover

November 9November 9 by Colleen Hoover
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

November 23- December 29

Fallon meets Ben, an aspiring novelist, the day before her scheduled cross-country move. Their untimely attraction leads them to spend Fallon’s last day in L.A. together, and her eventful life becomes the creative inspiration Ben has always sought for his novel. Over time and amidst the various relationships and tribulations of their own separate lives, they continue to meet on the same date every year. Until one day Fallon becomes unsure if Ben has been telling her the truth or fabricating a perfect reality for the sake of the ultimate plot twist

Review: Ben meets Fallon on November 9th which is a big date in this book . Fallon was in a big accident when she was younger a fire was set on her dad’s house and he forgot about her so at this dinner with her father where he’s mostly insulting her cause she wants to get into acting again she’s moving to NYC and then Ben steps in pretending to be her boyfriend so they spend the night together hang out and agree to spend November 9th together until there 23 Ben is going to write a book about there love story I loved this book these characters are very interesting I laughed I cried a lot reading this book I think I loved this book more than Slammed . The second November Fallon meets Ben’s brothers Ian and kyle , Kyle ends up punching Ben for we find out later on Ben gets a tattoo it was a cute scene Fallen leaves for NYC . The next november was sad Ben’s brother died in a car accident I felt so bad for Jorden his wife who is pregnant with there child I cried so much so Ben couldn’t make it this November 9 and he wanted fallen but she goes to him which I thought was really sweet they end up having sex and Ben wants to move to NYC but Fallen tells him no he has to be here for his family and she’s right but Ben is heartbroken . Fallen ends up moving back to LA so she can teach acting and Ben shows up with Oliver and he breaks the news to Fallen he’s with Jorden the worse part is you can’t hate Jorden cause of what she’s been through but I felt so bad for Fallen and Ben Fallen says she’s not going to show up next year and I started crying . Ben finds her next year when Fallen is on a date with a big douche Ben and fallen end up making out and then some punching happens and Fallen goes to Ben’s place and she finds his book and we learn he started the fire I screamed WTF how what I needed answers but Fallen was afraid so she left and Ben was heartbroken . Ben Sends Fallen the book but she doesn’t read it but her mom comes over and ends up reading it and tells Fallen to read it and all of Ben’s past was intense his mom committed suicide she had cancer and Ben found her Ben’s mom dated fallon dad for awhile he’s a prick I wasn’t a fan of him Ben ends up setting a fire of his car but he didn’t know it would spread but Ben goes into a depression and wakes up in Jorden bed hes freaking out but mostly she told him to grow up and he was drunk Fallon finishes the book and finds Ben and they kiss I loved this book so much one of my new favorites .
Ps I think they intertwined some of ugly love in this book cause Tate and Miles were in this and Ian was Miles friend in ugly love omg

Favorite quotes
I’m not going to pretend that I know what youve gone through . but after reading those pages , I can assure you that you aren’t the only one who was scarred in that fire . just because he chose not to show you his scars doesn’t mean they don’t exist . she picks up the box and sets it on my lap . here you need to show him the respect he showed you by not turning away from them

I dont want to be your first , Fallon . I want to be your last

it pisses me off you allow something so trivial to define such a huge part of you . I can’t make you pretty in the book . Because that be an insult You’re fucking beautiful. And you’re funny . And the only times I’m not completely enamored by you are the moments you’re feeling sorry for yourself because I don’t know if you’ve realized this yet , but your alive , fallon . and every time you look in the mirror you don’t have a right to hate what you see . Because you survived when a lot of people don’t get that lucky so from now on when you think about your scars , you aren’t allowed to resent them . you’re going to embrace them, because you’re lucky to be on this earth to see them. And any guy you allow to touch your scars better thank you for that privilege.

Wow . Is he …
he is
Ben . I say narrowing my eyes . Are you… booksting me ?
he cocks an eyebrow . Booksting ?
Yeah when a hot guy talks books with a girl . It’s like sexting but out loud with books instead of sex . Nor does it have to do with texts . Okay , so it’s nothing like sexting , but it made sense in my head . He falls onto the bed in laughter . I scoot toward him and place my hand on his chest as I lean over him . Don’t stop I tease in a seductive voice . Give me more Ben . Did you read ebooks or… I run my finger slowly down his chest . Hardbacks ? He pulls his hand behind his head and a smug look washes over his face . Oh they were hardback, all right and I’m not sure if your ready for this , but …. I have my very own TBR pile you should see it , Fallon . It’s huge .

one of the things I try to remind myself is that everyone has scars , she says . A lot of them even worse then mine . the only difference is mine are viable most people’s aren’t .

I read a lot of romance , so I know when the timing is right . if we’re going to kiss it has to be book-worthy.

I practically live in Starbucks . I’m a writer . it’s a rite of passage

If we’re going to kiss, it has to be book-worthy.”

She “loved me” in quotations She kissed me in bold I TRIED TO KEEP HER in all caps She left with an ellipsis . . .”

You can’t leave yet. I’m not finished falling in love with you.

“It’s easy to fall in love, Ben. The hard part comes when you want out.”

Loving someone means accepting all the things and people that person loves, too.”

When you’re willing to give up the things that mean the most to you just to see someone else happy, that’s real love.”

I’m not sure if sex is supposed to make you feel like you’ve just lost a part of yourself to the person inside you, but that’s exactly what it felt like. It felt as if the second we joined together, a tiny piece of our souls got confused and a piece of his fell into me and a piece of mine fell into him. It was by far the single most intense moment I’ve ever shared with another person.”

“if you tell me you want to spend every single day on the calendar this year falling in love with me, then I’m going to kiss you. And I promise it’ll be an eleven.”

I need you to to know that it was always you who had my heart.”

Book Review: Furiously happy a funny book about horrible things Jenny Lawson

Furiously Happy: A Funny Book About Horrible ThingsFuriously Happy: A Funny Book About Horrible Things by Jenny Lawson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Book review : Furiously happy by jenny lawson December 20-24

In LET’S PRETEND THIS NEVER HAPPENED, Jenny Lawson baffled readers with stories about growing up the daughter of a taxidermist. In her new book, FURIOUSLY HAPPY, Jenny explores her lifelong battle with mental illness. A hysterical, ridiculous book about crippling depression and anxiety? That sounds like a terrible idea. And terrible ideas are what Jenny does best.

According to Jenny: “Some people might think that being ‘furiously happy’ is just an excuse to be stupid and irresponsible and invite a herd of kangaroos over to your house without telling your husband first because you suspect he would say no since he’s never particularly liked kangaroos. And that would be ridiculous because no one would invite a herd of kangaroos into their house. Two is the limit. I speak from personal experience. My husband says that none is the new limit. I say he should have been clearer about that before I rented all those kangaroos.”

“Most of my favorite people are dangerously fucked-up but you’d never guess because we’ve learned to bare it so honestly that it becomes the new normal. Like John Hughes wrote in The Breakfast Club, ‘We’re all pretty bizarre. Some of us are just better at hiding it.’ Except go back and cross out the word ‘hiding.'”

Jenny’s first book, LET’S PRETEND THIS NEVER HAPPENED, was ostensibly about family, but deep down it was about celebrating your own weirdness. FURIOUSLY HAPPY is a book about mental illness, but under the surface it’s about embracing joy in fantastic and outrageous ways-and who doesn’t need a bit more of that?
Review : I loved this book I loved the way Jenny talked about living with anxiety and depression I read this with the audiobook it was so funny and relate able I’ve had anxiety since I was 11 or 12 . And reading this book made me see that I’m not alone others have the same or different problems as me . I highly recommend reading this book if you have anxiety or just want to understand it . She talks about being married and having a daughter and other crazy things that have happened to her and when she talks about things that could happen in her head I’m like I totally understand .
Quotes
i’m alergic to latex and it makes me break out in a rash so most condoms are out for me because the last thing any of us want is a vagina rash . The alternative is the ones made out of sheepskin , but it always creeps me out because does that mean Victor and I are having sex with a sheep ? A dead sheep , actually . So bestiality and necrophilia . And a three way ,I think . I actually mentioned this to Victor and he immediately booked a vasectomy , which is sweet because it’s nice he cares about me . He claimed it was less his caring and more ” Id rather have my nuts cut off than have to listen to you talk about having three ways with dead sheep.

When you come out of the grips of a depression there is an incredible relief, but not one you feel allowed to celebrate. Instead, the feeling of victory is replaced with anxiety that it will happen again, and with shame and vulnerability when you see how your illness affected your family, your work, everything left untouched while you struggled to survive. We come back to life thinner, paler, weaker … but as survivors. Survivors who don’t get pats on the back from coworkers who congratulate them on making it. Survivors who wake to more work than before because their friends and family are exhausted from helping them fight a battle they may not even understand. I hope to one day see a sea of people all wearing silver ribbons as a sign that they understand the secret battle, and as a celebration of the victories made each day as we individually pull ourselves up out of our foxholes to see our scars heal, and to remember what the sun looks like.”

Don’t sabotage yourself. There are plenty of other people willing to do that for free.”

Without the dark there isn’t light. Without the pain there is no relief. And I remind myself that I’m lucky to be able to feel such great sorrow, and also such great happiness. I can grab on to each moment of joy and live in those moments because I have seen the bright contrast from dark to light and back again. I am privileged to be able to recognize that the sound of laughter is a blessing and a song, and to realize that the bright hours spent with my family and friends are extraordinary treasures to be saved, because those same moments are a medicine, a balm. Those moments are a promise that life is worth fighting for, and that promise is what pulls me through when depression distorts reality and tries to convince me otherwise.”

Last month, as Victor drove me home so I could rest, I told him that sometimes I felt like his life would be easier without me. He paused a moment in thought and then said, “It might be easier. But it wouldn’t be better.”

I can tell you that “Just cheer up” is almost universally looked at as the most unhelpful depression cure ever. It’s pretty much the equivalent of telling someone who just had their legs amputated to “just walk it off.” Some people don’t understand that for a lot of us, mental illness is a severe chemical imbalance rather just having “a case of the Mondays.” Those same well-meaning people will tell me that I’m keeping myself from recovering because I really “just need to cheer up and smile.” That’s when I consider chopping off their arms and then blaming them for not picking up their severed arms so they can take them to the hospital to get reattached.”

most of my favorite people are dangerously fucked up but you’d never guess it because we’ve either become adept at hiding it or we’ve learned to bare it so honestly that it becomes the new normal. There’s a quote from The Breakfast Club that goes “We’re all pretty bizarre. Some of us are just better at hiding it.” I have it on a poster but I took a Sharpie to it and scratched out the word “hiding” because it reminds me that there’s a certain pride and freedom that comes from wearing your unique bizarreness like a badge of honor.”

Book Review: Carry the ocean Heidi Cullinan

Carry the Ocean (The Roosevelt, #1)Carry the Ocean by Heidi Cullinan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

December 6-9

Normal is just a setting on the dryer.

High school graduate Jeremey Samson is looking forward to burying his head under the covers and sleeping until it’s time to leave for college. Then a tornado named Emmet Washington enters his life. The double major in math and computer science is handsome, forward, wicked smart, interested in dating Jeremey—and he’s autistic.

But Jeremey doesn’t judge him for that. He’s too busy judging himself, as are his parents, who don’t believe in things like clinical depression. When his untreated illness reaches a critical breaking point, Emmet is the white knight who rescues him and brings him along as a roommate to The Roosevelt, a quirky new assisted living facility nearby.

As Jeremey finds his feet at The Roosevelt, Emmet slowly begins to believe he can be loved for the man he is behind the autism. But before he can trust enough to fall head over heels, he must trust his own conviction that friendship is a healing force, and love can overcome any obstacle.

Warning: Contains characters obsessed with trains and counting, positive representations of autism and mental illness, a very dark moment, and Elwood Blues.

Quotes:
sometimes I feel like everyone else is carrying a bucket of water but I’m trying to carry an ocean. its very hard. sometimes I would rather not carry my ocean, even if it meant I couldn’t be alive.”
I am normal. I belong. I have a friend who can kick ass from a wheelchair. I live independently and get good grades. I’m an excellent lover.

Like I said. I’m awesome. I’m Emmet David Washington. Train Man. The best autistic Blues Brother on the block.”

my emotions feel loud and big. its hard for me to keep hold of them. they weigh me down. make me heavy and tired and overwhelmed. sometimes I feel like everyone else is carrying a bucket of water but I’m trying to carry an ocean. its very hard. sometimes I would rather not carry my ocean, even if it meant I couldn’t be alive.”

Sometimes I liked him for his smile. Sometimes I liked him because he didn’t smile. Sometimes I got an erection because of the way he brushed his hair away from his face. It didn’t matter to my brain that these were odd reasons to care for someone. My brain, my body, my everything wanted to be Jeremey’s boyfriend.”

he stole a life. Now she must pay with her heart.

Dragged to a treacherous magical land she knows about only from legends, Feyre discovers that her captor is not an animal, but Tamlin—one of the lethal, immortal faeries who once ruled their world.

As she dwells on his estate, her feelings for Tamlin transform from icy hostility into a fiery passion that burns through every lie and warning she’s been told about the beautiful, dangerous world of the Fae. But an ancient, wicked shadow over the faerie lands is growing, and Feyre must find a way to stop it . . . or doom Tamlin—and his world—forever.

Quotes:
“I love you,’ he whispered, and kissed my brow. ‘Thorns and all.”

Don’t feel bad for one moment about doing what brings you joy.”

“Rhysand stared at me for long enough that I faced him.
“Be glad of your human heart, Feyre. Pity those who don’t feel anything at all.”

There are those who seek me a lifetime but never we meet,
And those I kiss but who trample me beneath ungrateful feet.

At times I seem to favor the clever and the fair,
But I bless all those who are brave enough to dare.

By large, my ministrations are soft-handed and sweet,
But scorned, I become a difficult beast to defeat.

For though each of my strikes lands a powerful blow,
When I kill, I do it slow… ”

Would you like me to grovel with gratitude for bringing me here, High Lord?”

“Ah. The Suriel told you nothing important, did it?”

That smile of his sparked something bold in my chest. “He also said that you liked being brushed, and if I’m a clever girl, I might train you with treats.”

Tamlin tipped his head to the sky and roared with laughter. Despite myself, I let out a quiet laugh.

“I might die of surprise,” Lucien said behind me. “You made a joke, Feyre.”

I turned to look at him with a cool smile. “You don’t want to know what the Suriel said about you.” I flicked my brows up, and Lucien lifted his hands in defeat.

“I’d pay good money to hear what the Suriel thinks of Lucien,” Tamlin said.

A cork popped, followed by the sounds of Lucien chugging the bottle’s contents and chuckling with a muttered, “Brushed.”

Because I wouldn’t want to die alone,” I said, and my voice wobbled as I looked at Tamlin again, forcing myself to meet his stare. “Because I’d want someone to hold my hand until the end, and awhile after that.
That’s something everyone deserves, human or faerie.”

I heard you scream,” he said as he examined the blade in my hands. I’d never held one so finely crafted, so perfectly balanced. “And I hesitated. Not long, but I hesitated before I came running. Even though Tam got there in time, I still broke my word in those seconds I waited.” He jerked his chin at the knife. “It’s yours. Don’t bury it in my back, please

Blood filled my mouth, warm as it dribbled out between my lips. I gazed at Tamlin’s masked face one last time.

“Love,” I breathed, the world crumbling into a blackness with no end. A pause in Amarantha’s magic. “The answer to the riddle…,” I got out, chocking on my own blood, “is… love.”

Tamlin’s eyes went wide before something forever cracked in my spine.”

Book review : Orange vol 5 July 19-19

In the Spring she was 16, Takamiya Naho receives a strange, but detailed letter from herself, ten years in the future. At first she thinks the letter is a prank, but then the things written in the letter actually happen, including the new transfer student that sits next to her in class, Naruse Kakeru. The letter reads just like her diary entries, down to the same characters. It is not till two weeks later, when Kakeru shows back up at school, that Naho finishes the letter. In the letter, her 27-year-old self tells her 16-year-old self that her biggest regret is that Kakeru is no longer with them in the future, and asks her to watch him closely.

Review: The last one was my favorite but so sad . Kakeru is still sad over his mother he thinks it’s his fault . Naho and Kakeru get in a fight and become more distant that’s when Naho Confesses to him . I cried and laughed so much in this manga Kakeru has all these friends and he’s in pain and he died cause he drove his bike in front of a truck but they plan to stop it Higata said they should break his bike I love him haha and he ended up doing so they find Kakeru trying to kill himself but suwa tackles him and they tell him about the letters I loved this series so much . Kakeru ends up finding his mom’s phone with a message she never sent to him she divorced his father cause he was beating her and didn’t want Kakeru to get hurt and she found out the people on the soccer team was bulling him . I feel in a way that message helped Kakeru I loved this series great ending .

So after the Relay Kakeru gives Naho a kiss on the cheek it was so cute . Kakeru gets Jealous of Suwa and snaps at Naho . I love these characters there all so great Hagita is one of my favorites. This is my favorite Manga series I can’t wait to see what happens in the last one . I also watched the first episode of the Anime and it matches the manga very well .

Impulse by Ellen Hopkins
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Verdict : Beautifully written
May 11- June 19

Sometimes you don’t wake up. But if you happen to, you know things will never be the same.

Three lives, three different paths to the same destination: Aspen Springs, a psychiatric hospital for those who have attempted the ultimate act — suicide.

Vanessa is beautiful and smart, but her secrets keep her answering the call of the blade.

Tony, after suffering a painful childhood, can only find peace through pills.

And Conner, outwardly, has the perfect life. But dig a little deeper and find a boy who is in constant battle with his parents, his life, himself.

In one instant each of these young people decided enough was enough. They grabbed the blade, the bottle, the gun — and tried to end it all. Now they have a second chance, and just maybe, with each other’s help, they can find their way to a better life — but only if they’re strong and can fight the demons that brought them here in the first place.

Review : This book was beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time it’s about 3 people Vanessa , Tony , and Conner who all have been through a lot and find themselves all in mental hospital and all become friends and some more than that . They each all have problems Vanessa is a cutter who tried to kill herself and Conner put a bullet through his chest . Tony had a bad childhood and resorted to pills . I feel a lot of people can relate to this book we’ve all been through something . Conner has a taste for older woman and slept with his teacher Connors’s family has very high exceptions for him he has a fraternal twin sister and a bitch mother . Tony went to Jail awhile ago for punching his mom’s boyfriend who use to do things to him . Vanessa likes Conner and there pretty hot and heavy for awhile but what I didn’t expect was Tony and vanessa together but I love them together they go to this camping trip so they can complete there time at aspen spring . Conner is going through a lot his family being not supportive pieces of crap . And Tony and Vanessa are all lovey dovey so cute I love them together they care for each other. I thought Tony was gay in the most of the book and so did he but maybe he’s Bi . And when they are rock climbing after they get there letters from there family Conner of course got a crappy one from his mom and he got angry and he flung himself off and died I started sobbing cause he went through a lot this book was heartbreaking there are probably a lot of trigger warnings in this book so be warned but as my first Ellen Hopkins book I loved it .
Quotes-
I love you , too Vanessa , and in my life , love is rare . You are rare -someone who bothered to scratch under my skin and find the person beneath.

Hey , Tony , I test . I’ll give you a kiss too, if you say please .
You wish , he jabs . But I prefer a man who likes to be on top.
ouch little brother I like it on top and on the bottom and standing up . And …oh , man I gotta stop or jerk off.

Memory is a tenuous thing , like a rainbow’s end or a camera with a failing lens. Sometimes my focus is sharp , every detail clean as the splashes of it either, fringing the evaluation eaves ; other times it’s hazy field of frost , like the meadow

My happiest memories have no place in the past; they are those I have yet to create

Her smile is like summer moonlight-beautiful and magical, with a fire that could melt the night

Tony’s Kiss

Is like no other kiss, ever.
It wants, but does not demand.
It asks, but doesn’t take.
It gives, and pleads for more.
It is filled with desire,
but also curiosity,
and it teaches me that a kiss should
come gift wrapped, not stripped naked. Most of all,
it makes me want another kiss
exactly like this one.”

Book Review: The raven boys Maggie stiefvater

The Raven Boys (The Raven Cycle, #1)The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

March 15 -May 20

“There are only two reasons a non-seer would see a spirit on St. Mark’s Eve,” Neeve said. “Either you’re his true love . . . or you killed him.”

It is freezing in the churchyard, even before the dead arrive.

Every year, Blue Sargent stands next to her clairvoyant mother as the soon-to-be dead walk past. Blue herself never sees them—not until this year, when a boy emerges from the dark and speaks directly to her.

His name is Gansey, and Blue soon discovers that he is a rich student at Aglionby, the local private school. Blue has a policy of staying away from Aglionby boys. Known as Raven Boys, they can only mean trouble.

But Blue is drawn to Gansey, in a way she can’t entirely explain. He has it all—family money, good looks, devoted friends—but he’s looking for much more than that. He is on a quest that has encompassed three other Raven Boys: Adam, the scholarship student who resents all the privilege around him; Ronan, the fierce soul who ranges from anger to despair; and Noah, the taciturn watcher of the four, who notices many things but says very little.

For as long as she can remember, Blue has been warned that she will cause her true love to die. She never thought this would be a problem. But now, as her life becomes caught up in the strange and sinister world of the Raven Boys, she’s not so sure anymore.

Review- Blue Sarget is the only one in her family who isn’t a physic but she makes things stronger for other physics on all st eves she sees a spirt named Gansey and if a non – seer sees a spirt on all st eve it means she’s either his true love or she killed him .
Gansey is looking for Glendower a welsh king who if you wake up you get a wish. Gansey and his friends Adam , Ronan ,and Noah are looking for him Adam calls a physic because Gansey heard his voice on a recorder . When Blue goes to work she gets a call Gansey is coming in for his reading . Then Blue meets a guy who tells her she should talk to his friend cause he likes her Blue isn’t a fan of this guy cause he’s a raven boy and rich and that guy is Gansey and then Roanan and his brother are getting into a fight . Adam goes to be the sacrifice he takes his gun to welk and shit goes down Welk gets killed Adam wakes the ley lines and Ronan says he made Chainsaw from his dreams oh my god I loved this book I love the characters this book was amazing .
Quotes:
Blue tried not to look at Gansey’s boat shoes ; she felt better about him as a person if she pretend he wasn’t wearing them .

we have to be back in three hours , Ronan said I just fed chainsaw but she’ll need it again. This , gansey replied is precisely why I didn’t want to have a baby with you .”

I thought we were clear that night was for sleeping Ronan shrugged . perhaps for you not tonight . your pterodactyl woke me . why is it making that sound

“Her name’s Chainsaw,” replied Ronan, without looking up. Then: “Noah. You’re creepy as hell back there.”

“I found it.”
“People find pennies,” Gansey replied. “Or car keys. Or four-leaf clovers.”
“And ravens,” Ronan said. “You’re just jealous ’cause” – at this point, he had to stop to regroup his beer-sluggish thoughts – “you didn’t find one, too.”

If we go that way, it seems less like we’ll be shot for trespassing. We can’t be low profile because of your shirt.”
“Aquamarine is a wonderful color, and I won’t be made to feel bad for wearing it,” Gansey said. But his voice was a bit thin, and he glanced back at the church again. Just then he looked younger than she’d ever seen him, his eyes narrowed, hair messed up, features unstudied. Young and, strangely enough, afraid.
Blue thought: I can’t tell him. I can never tell him. I have to just try to stop it from happening.
Then Gansey, suddenly charming again, flipped a hand in the direct of her purple tunic dress. “Lead the way, Eggplant.”
She found a stick to poke at the ground for snakes before they set off through the grass. The wind smelled like rain, and the ground rumbled with thunder, but the weather held. The machine in Gansey’s hands blinked red constantly, only flickering to orange when they stepped too far away from the invisible line.
“Thanks for coming, Jane,” Gansey said.
Blue shot him a dirty look. “You’re welcome, Dick.”
He looked pained. “Please don’t.”

Did you get notes for me?”
“No”, Ronan replied,”I thought you were dead in a ditch.”

Oh! Your hand is cold.” Ashley cupped her fingers against her shirt to warm them.
“I’ve been dead for seven years,” Noah said. “That’s as warm as they get.”

What’s going on with your face, by the way?”
Gansey rubbed his chin, rueful. His skin felt reluctantly stubbled. He knew he was being diverted, but he allowed it. “Is it growing?”
“Dude, you aren’t really going to do that beard thing, are you? I thought you were joking. You know that stopped being cool in the fourteen century or whenever it was that Paul Bunyan lived.” Ronan looked over his shoulder at him. He was sporting the five o’clock shadow that he was capable of growing at any time of the day. “Just stop. You look mangy.”
“It’s irrelevant. It’s not growing. I’m doomed to be a man-child.”
“If you keep saying things like ‘man-child,’ we’re done,” Ronan said. “Hey, man. Don’t let it get you down. Once your balls drop, that beard’ll come in great.”

Ollie and Moritz are best friends, but they can never meet. Ollie is allergic to electricity. Contact with it causes debilitating seizures. Moritz’s weak heart is kept pumping by an electronic pacemaker. If they ever did meet, Ollie would seize. But Moritz would die without his pacemaker. Both hermits from society, the boys develop a fierce bond through letters that become a lifeline during dark times—as Ollie loses his only friend, Liz, to the normalcy of high school and Moritz deals with a bully set on destroying him.

A story of impossible friendship and hope under strange circumstances, this debut is powerful, dark and humorous in equal measure. These extraordinary voices bring readers into the hearts and minds of two special boys who, like many teens, are just waiting for their moment to shine

Book Review : Orange volume 1 ichigo Takano

Orange 1Orange 1 by Ichigo Takano
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

April 17-20

One day, Takamiya Naho receives a letter written to herself from ten years in the future. As Naho reads on, the letter recites the exact events of the day, including the transfer of a new student into her class named Naruse Kakeru.

The Naho from ten years later repeatedly states that she has many regrets, and she wants to fix these by making sure the Naho from the past can make the right decisions—especially regarding Kakeru. What’s more shocking is that she discovers that ten years later, Kakeru will no longer be with them. Future Naho asks her to watch over him closely.

Review – Naho recives a letter from her future self she doesn’t think it’s real at first but all the things in the letter are happening when a new student Kakeru arrives. Her future self wants her to change some things she regretted cause Kakeru dies when he’s 17 he was hit by a car this manga gave me the feels I cried I laughed I love the characters there all so different but interesting things start to change in her life she likes Kakeru and he started dating someone she was making his lunches and calling him it was so sweet he ends up breaking up with his girlfriend cause he likes someone else she’s changing things that don’t end up in the letter I loved this manga I can’t wait to know what happens in the rest of the series .

Book review : for teenage girls with wild ambitions and trembling hearts by clementine von radics

April 12- 12

A beautiful clothbound volume as enduring as its message: Young women of the world — the world is yours! For Teenage Girls celebrates the incendiary brilliance and limitless promise of young women — our daughters, sisters, friends, ourselves. Drawing on the legacy of Joan of Arc, Anne Frank, Malala, Cleopatra, Sacajawea, and other young women who dared to believe in themselves, poet Clementine von Radics calls on a new generation of girls to trust their hearts, follow their paths, and light up their worlds. Clementine’s video performance of “For Teenage Girls” is an internet sensation, and has won praise from Bustle, The Huffington Post, Smart Girls at the Party, Hello GIggles, and Everyday Feminism. This special edition makes a beautiful gift and powerful talisman — a book to give, to keep, to live by.

Review – I love this poem it’s a message to all teenage girls out there or just girls in general I love clementines writing it’s so beautiful and I will read anything she writes.

Book Review: Pucked up Helena Hunting

Pucked Up (Pucked, #2)Pucked Up by Helena Hunting
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Febuary 15- March 5

Miller “Buck” Butterson has been banging his way through life end. A real, non-bunny girlfriend to take on dates, and not jump into bed with after five seconds of conversation.

Miller thinks he’s found that woman in his teammate’s sister. Except, unlike team captain and all-around nice guy Alex Waters—who happens to date his stepsister, Miller’s media reputation as a manwhore is well earned. Beyond that minor detail, Miller doesn’t know the first thing about relationships or the time and effort they require.

Miller learns—eventually—that if he wants to make Sunshine “Sunny” Waters fall for him, he’s going to have to do a whole lot more than show her his stick skills in the bedroom.

Review- Miller Butterson has slept with a lot of woman well bunnies but then he falls for Sunny his teammate’s younger sister but to prove to her that he isn’t just a guy who sleeps with a ton of girls he goes to visit Sunny but Sunny always is getting Jealous when pictures of Miller and puck bunnies show up he misses his flight but gets there and he and Sunny talk but then get to fooling around I loved that this book was all in Miller’s point of view because we got to see how he was feeling and seeing things . Miller has Dyslexia which I didn’t see coming but I know how he’s felt . Sunny ends up going on a camping trip with her best friend Lilly who doesn’t like Miller Sunny’s ex boyfriend and Lilly’s boyfriend who is a dick . Miller is doing this hockey camp for people who can’t afford it which is amazing Miller meets a kid named Micheal who has cancer Miller’s mom died when he was a kid so he decides to throw a fundraiser . While at this camp with Miller’s best friend Randy he gets bit by a spider where you don’t want to be bit ow ow ow then Miller and Randy go to Alex’s cottage where everyone ended up . Sunny and Miller end up having sex outside which in resulted sunny having poison ivy on her chest . Lilly and her soon to be ex boyfriend end up fighting and he calls her a bitch which makes Randy mad and then Lilly kisses Randy OMG . And then Miller goes this car wash event which ends up turning out like one big porno and Sunny gets mad Lilly is pissed . Miller and Alex end up getting in a huge fight and Sunny and Miller break up I was on Miller’s side Sunny wasn’t trusting him he was always honest and there for her and she was always listing to other people’s opinions and then Miller starts Project Sunshine named after Sunny for Michel . Sunny and Miller start talking about everything then they end up having sex which Alex kind of walks in on and he is pissed and then Sunny is pissed cause Alex didn’t apologize to Miller . They get back together and Sunny comes to visit him and have a great time I loved this book this series is hot and funny .

Quotes- There are no refunds and no exchanges with love. It comes with flaws and imperfections. It’s raw, unfiltered, and sometimes it isn’t easy. But I’ve found the best things in this life are the ones I’ve had to work hardest for

Funny how losing someone important is the thing that finally makes me decide to step outside my comfort zone. Now I wish I would’ve done it sooner.”

Besides , he’s to pretty for prison . They’d probably make him a bottom because of his monster cock.

Book Review: Pucked Helena Hunting

Pucked (Pucked, #1)Pucked by Helena Hunting
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Febuary 9- 15

With a famous NHL player for a step-brother, Violet Hall is well acquainted with the playboy reputation many hockey stars come with. She’s smart enough to steer clear of those hot, well-built boys with unparalleled stamina. That is until she meets the legendary team captain—Alex Waters.

Violet isn’t interested in his pretty, beat-up face, or his rock-hard six-pack abs. But when Alex inadvertently obliterates Violet’s previous misapprehension regarding the inferior intellect of hockey players, he becomes more than just a hot body with a face to match.

In what can only be considered a complete lapse in judgment, Violet finds out just how good Alex is with the hockey stick in his pants. But what starts out as a one-night stand, quickly turns into something more. Post-night of orgasmic magic, Alex starts to call, and text, and e-mail and send extravagant—and quirky—gifts, making him difficult to ignore, and even more difficult not to like.

The problem is, the media portrays Alex as a total player, and Violet doesn’t want to be part of the game.

Review- I loved this book it was so cute and funny Violet is dragged to her step brother’s Hockey game and there she meets Alex who is a hockey player who has reputation that isn’t exactly true Alex and Violet get talking and she kisses him she goes back to her hotel and he calls her she thought it was buck so she embarrass herself and she goes to his hotel room and they hook up twice . She leaves and Alex really likes Violet and he calls her when she gets back home Alex starts sending things to Violet and it’s so cute . Violet thinks Alex is a play boy and he hooks up with a bunch of puck bunnies but they talk that he really isn’t a playboy that’s just how it looks in the media they go on an amazing first date and she plays air hockey with him and she spends the night . She decides to surprise Alex at his game but he gets kicked out so she goes into the locker room and they kind of end up hooking up and the whole hockey team including Violet’s stepbrother end up seeing what’s going on after some yelling from Buck he punches Alex and Alex tells everyone that violet’s his girlfriend . Violet meets Alex’s family his mother I wasn’t a fan his dad was cool his sister ends up going out with Buck which I didn’t see coming . Alex’s manager want’s Alex to keep his relationship quiet what a DICK , Alex asks Violet to move in with him and she agrees and at the game is when it all goes to hell they win but Alex tells the media that Violet is just a friend oh god Alex so dumb . Alex loves Violet he fires his manger and is determined to get her back she moves out of her parents place and she is sad and broken but in a interview Alex tells Violet he loves her and she goes to the game and he tells her again they kiss and there back together she does finally end up moving in with Alex and he proposes to her it was amazing I loved this book onto the next one .
Quotes-
“What is that?” The question is inane. But, honestly, what the fuck am I supposed to do with this? Alex chuckles nervously. As is appropriate since I’m holding his dick and I’m clearly not sane. “I mean, I know what it is. Obviously. Do you have some kind of . . . disorder? Like elephantiasis of the penis or something?” I did not say that out loud. “It’s not that big.” His erection slides in my grip. I can’t stop staring. My thumb and middle finger must have a good inch or more before they can meet. I squeeze to see if it helps bring them closer together. It doesn’t. What it does is make Alex groan, and that, oh holy monster of cock, is one hot noise.”

“I don’t like big weddings.” Her panic is clear. “All those people make me nervous. I’ll mess up the vows and say something inappropriate.”
“It doesn’t have to be big. It can be just the two of us if you want. We can wait until next summer—or the one after if a year isn’t long enough. We can get married up here by a justice of the peace on the end of the dock at sunset. A damn Rastafarian can perform the ceremony if that’s what you want. I don’t care about the wedding part. All I want to be is connected to you in the most significant way possible. I want you as my wife.”

“What’s going on here?” Buck asks just as loudly, gesturing wildly with his giant, hairy knuckled hands.
“I’m sucking his dick,” I say sarcastically. Sometimes I wish my mouth didn’t have a faulty connection to my brain allowing everything to come out unfiltered.
Alex coughs, his fingers twitching on my hip, and Buck’s face turns an unnatural shade of red. This is such an odd situation; the awkwardness causes me to continue to spew idiocy.
“Fine, you got me. I wasn’t sucking his dick. We were fucking each other’s mouths with our tongues. This is otherwise referred to as kissing, but mouth fucking sounds way dirtier, so I’m gonna go with that.”

I’m so pucked. There’d better be a support group for hockey hookers.”

Book Review: 44 chapters about 4 men BB Easton

44 Chapters About 4 Men44 Chapters About 4 Men by B.B. Easton
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

**Warning: this text may contain spoilers** Febuary 9- 12

School psychologists aren’t supposed to write books about sex. Doing so would be considered “unethical” and “a fireable offense.” Lucky for you, ethics was never my strong suit.

After spending years trying to spice up my sex life, I gave up and took to my journal. Perhaps my gorgeous, cold, number crunching husband simply wasn’t capable of the kind of passion I’d come to expect. After all, my ex-boyfriends—a skinhead turned US Marine turned motorcycle club outlaw, a baby-faced punk rocker out on parole, and a heavy-metal bass player—were every bit as tattooed and testosterone-fueled as the leading men in my favorite romance novels. If I couldn’t have that kind of passion again in real life, at least I could write about it. Right? Nobody had to know. It would be my little secret.

Well, guess what? My husband read that shit.

And guess what else? He upped his fucking game.

Drunk with power and under the dubious advisement of my best friend and colleague, I began testing the limits—crafting journal entries specifically designed to manipulate Ken’s behavior. For the most part, he responded beautifully…except when he didn’t.

Told through actual journal entries, steamy short stories, personal emails, a few haikus, and at least one dirty limerick, 44 Chapters About 4 Men chronicles the year I spent toying with my husband’s mind and ignoring all ethical standards of psychology. I decided to publish it in the hopes that someone out there might benefit from my discovery—or at least laugh at it—but in doing so I’m risking more than just my career. If word of this book gets back to Ken, I could lose the very man I’ve worked so hard to perfect.

Review – I loved this book I was laughing my ass off when BB talks about her ex boyfriends and her husband . BB ends up writing a journal about her ex boyfriends and planting fake stuff for her husband Ken to find I think every girl should read this this book was hot and funny and all the guys in the book were entertaining Ken’s my favorite though .
Quotes-I’m going to go back into the bathroom and we’re going to try this again . only this time , when I come out here , you are going to say , you look nice , and I’m not going to stab your dick with my stiletto

I haven’t slept in like three days because I know the second I close my eyes Ken is going to , shh. shh, shh, and smother me with a pillow .
