Book Review: what to buy the shadowhunter who has everything Cassandra Clare

What to Buy the Shadowhunter Who Has Everything (The Bane Chronicles, #8)What to Buy the Shadowhunter Who Has Everything by Cassandra Clare
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Aug 1-3

Magnus Bane may or may not be dating Alec Lightwood, but he definitely needs to find him the perfect birthday present.

Set in the time between City of Ashes and City of Glass, warlock Magnus Bane is determined to find the best birthday present possible for Alec Lightwood, the Shadowhunter he may or may not be dating. And he’s also got to deal with the demon he’s conjured up for a very irritating client..

Review : I really loved this story Magnus totally freaking out what to get Alec for his birthday and he also summons a demon for an annoying client . I love Magnus and alec’s relationship they are my main ship in this series and then alec calls Magnus and shows up at his apartment which is so cute loved it .

Quotes :
Happy birthday, Alexander,” Magnus murmured.
“Thanks for remembering,” Alec whispered back.”

“Wait,” said Ragnor, and he started to snigger. “Is this about your Nephilim boyfriend?”
“Our relationship is as yet undefined,” said Magnus with dignity. Then he clutched the phone and hissed, “And how do you know private details about my personal life with Alexander?”
“Ooooh, Alexander,” Ragnor said in a singsong voice. “I know all about it. Raphael called and told me.”
“Raphael Santiago,” said Magnus, thinking darkly of the current leader of the New York vampire clan, “has a black ungrateful heart, and one day he will be punished for this treachery.”

“Raphael calls me every month,” said Ragnor. “Raphael knows that it is important to preserve good relations and maintain regular communication between the different Downworlder factions. I might add, Raphael always remembers important occasions in my life.”
“I forgot your birthday one time sixty years ago!” said Magnus. “You need to let that go.”
“It was fifty-eight years ago, for the record. And Raphael knows we need to maintain a united front against the Nephilim and not, for instance, sneak around with their underage sons,” Ragnor continued.
“Alec is eighteen!”
“Whatever,” said Ragnor. “Raphael would never date a Shadowhunter.”
“Of course, why would he, when you two are in loooove?” Magnus asked. “‘Oooh, Raphael is
always so professional.’ ‘Oooh, Raphael brought up the most interesting points in that meeting you forgot to attend.’ ‘Oooh, Raphael and I are planning a June wedding.’ Besides, Raphael would never date a Shadowhunter because Raphael has a policy of never doing anything that is awesome.”

“The buzzer rang. Magnus pressed the button to let him enter, speechless for a moment because he had wanted Alec there, so badly, and here he was. It felt more like magic than anything he could do.
Then Alec was there, standing in the open doorway.
“I wanted to see you,” said Alec with devastating simplicity. “Is this okay? I can go away if you’re busy or anything.”
It must have been raining a little outside. There were sparkling drops of water in Alec’s messy black hair. He was wearing a hoodie that Magnus thought he might have found in a Dumpster, and sloppy
jeans, and his whole face was lit up just because he was looking at Magnus.
“I think,” said Magnus, pulling Alec in by the strings on his awful gray hoodie, “that I could be persuaded to clear my schedule.”

Charlie likes to stand out. SupaCon is her chance to show fans she’s over her public breakup with co-star, Reese Ryan. When Alyssa Huntington arrives as a surprise guest, it seems Charlie’s long-time crush on her isn’t as one-sided as she thought.

While Charlie dodges questions about her personal life, Taylor starts asking questions about her own.

Taylor likes to blend in. Her brain is wired differently, making her fear change. And there’s one thing in her life she knows will never change: her friendship with Jamie—no matter how much she may secretly want it to. But when she hears about the Queen Firestone SupaFan Contest, she starts to rethink her rules on playing it safe.

Jamie and Taylor end up being able to go to the party and Taylor meets her favorite author this was such a cute book I loved it .
Quotes:
That’s what we do. We walk a tightrope every day. Getting out the door is a tightrope. Going grocery shopping is a tightrope. Socializing is a tightrope. Things that most people consider to be normal, daily parts of life are the very things we fear and struggle with the most, and yet here we are, moving forward anyway. That’s not weak.”

“My bottom lip starts to quiver, but I keep going. “I fight every day, and too many times it’s just not enough and the fear wins. I’m so fucking weak and everything is so fucking intense and sometimes I really hate it.” I gasp, covering my mouth with my hands as the tears pour out of me. I didn’t mean to say all that. I feel exposed. Tears fill her eyes, too. “Can I hug you?” I nod, unable to speak. She walks around the table and hugs me.”

In 1950s New York City, a distraught mother hires Magnus Bane to find her missing son, Raphael. But even if he can be found, is Raphael beyond saving?

Review : I loved this one Raphael is a very interesting character I loved his exchanges with Magnus . Raphael’s mother hires Magnus to find Raphael and Magnus finds him but as a vampire and Magnus takes him and helps him control so he can see his mother I really enjoyed this story .

Quotes:

“How many times have I told you, Magnus? Behave professionaly in a professional setting. Which means no being rude to Nephilim, and also no getting attached to Nephilim.”
“I never get attached to Nephilim!” Magnus protested.
Ragnor coughed, and in the midst of the cough said something that sounded like “blerondale.”
“Well,” said Magnus. “Hardly ever.”

Magnus had often thought of getting a pet, but he had never considered acquiring a sullen teenage vampire. Once Raphael was gone, he thought, he was getting a cat. And he would always throw his cat a birthday party.”

Oh no, Raphael, please don’t leave me,” Magnus said in a monotone. “Where would I be without the light of your sweet smile? If you go, I will throw myself upon the ground and weep.” hair
“Will you?” asked Raphael, raising one thin eyebrow. “Because if you do, I will stay and watch the show.”

Oh wait . You think I’m dating Raphael ? Magnus asked . Raphael ? That’s ridiculous . That’s- That’s the most revolting idea I’ve ever heard . Raphael’s voice rang out to the ceilling . Probally people in the the street could hear him . That’s a little strong , said Magnus . And frankly , hurtful. And if I did wish to indulge in unnatural persuits- andlet me be clear , I Certainly do not , Raphael continued scornfully , as if I would choose hi, . Him! He dresses like a maniac , acts like a fool , and makes worse jokes thank the man people throw rotten eggs at outside the dew drop every Saturday . Ragnor began to laugh . Better men than you have begged for a change to win all this , Magnus muttered . They have fought duels in my honor . One man fought a duel for my honor , but that was a little embarrassing since it is long gone . Do you know he spends hours in the bathroom sometimes ? Raphael announced mercilessly . H wastes actual magic on his hair . On his hair . I love this kid , Said Ragnor.

Book Review: The midnight heir Cassandra Clare

The Midnight Heir (The Bane Chronicles #4)The Midnight Heir by Cassandra Clare
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

June 29-29
Magnus thought he would never return to London, but he is lured by a handsome offer from Tatiana Blackthorn, whose plans—involving her beautiful young ward—are far more sinister than Magnus even suspects. In London at the turn of the century, Magnus finds old friends, and meets a very surprising young man . . . the sixteen-year-old James Herondale.

Review : This one has been my favorite one so far Magnus meets James Herondale . Will and tessa’s son and hes a rough one he believes he is damned and we got to see Jem, Tessa and will all together and James thinking he’s king of the ducks ha . And then we have the lightwoods crazy sister who wants Magnus to kill five shadowhunters wtf but I loved this story .

Quotes : “Do stop flirting with my husband,” said Tessa.
“I shall not,” Magnus declared, “but I will pause briefly so that I may catch up on your news.”

“Then I lost him for a brief period of time, and by the time I caught up with him, he had wandered into Hyde Park, waded into the Serpetine, spread his arms wide, and was shouting, ‘Ducks, embrace me as your king

“Let me say to you what I said once, in an entirely different context to Catherine the Great,” Magnus declared. “My dear lady, you cannot afford me,and also, please leave that horse alone. Good night.”

The boy’s eyes went to him, and a shock passed through Magnus. They were not Will’s eyes, the eyes Magnus remembered being as blue as a night sky in Hell, eyes Magnus has seen both despairing and tender.
This boy has shining golden eyes, like crystal glass filled brimful with crisp white wine and held up to catch the light of a blazing sun. If his skin was luminous, his eyes were radiant. Magnus could not imagine these eyes as tender. The boy was very, very lovely, but his was a beauty like that of Helen of Troy might have had once, disaster written in every line. The light of his beauty made Magnus think of cities burning

Book Review: vampires, scones and Edmund Herondale Cassandra Clare

Vampires, Scones, and Edmund Herondale (The Bane Chronicles, #3)Vampires, Scones, and Edmund Herondale by Cassandra Clare
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

June 28- 29

When immortal warlock Magnus Bane attends preliminary peace talks between the Shadowhunters and the Downworlders in Victorian London, he is charmed by two very different people: the vampire Camille Belcourt and the young Shadowhunter, Edmund Herondale. Will winning hearts mean choosing sides?

Review : I loved this short story we Meet Edmund Herondale Will’s father and we get to see him and his wife meet which was very sweet and then they get engaged and Edmund has to leave the shadowhunter world and Magnus was very fond of him I really love the Herondale men .

Quotes

“I shall never eat duck again. I cannot believe I used to like duck. The duck betrayed me.

Excuse me, Bane?” said Roderick Morgenstern. “Are you attending?”
“I’m so sorry,” Magnus said politely. “Somebody incredibly attractive just came into the room, and I ceased to pay attention to a word you were saying.

“Years later Magnus would return to London and Camille Belcourt’s side, and find it not all that he had dreamed. Years later another desperate Herondale boy with blue, blue eyes would come to his door, shaking with the cold of the rain and his own wretchedness, and this one Magnus would be able to help.”

“Flirting? We were merely indulging in a little risqué conversation,” Magnus said, offended.
“When I begin to flirt, I assure you the entire room will know. My flirtations cause sensations.

No fewer than four of my esteemed elders told me I was on no account to ever converse with you, so I vowed that I would know you. My name is Edmund Herondale. May I ask your name? They reffered to you only as ‘that disgraceful one-warlock show.”

Book Review: The runaway queen Cassandra Clare

The Runaway Queen (The Bane Chronicles, #2)The Runaway Queen by Cassandra Clare
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

June 28-28

Magnus Bane has a royal role in the French Revolution—if the angry mobs don’t spoil his spells. One of ten adventures in The Bane Chronicles.

While in France, immortal warlock Magnus Bane finds himself attempting to rescue the royal family from the horrors of the French Revolution—after being roped into this mess by a most attractive count. Naturally, the daring escape calls for invisible air balloons…

Review : This one was an interesting story a bit slow but I enjoyed it . Magnus is hired by a guy named Axel to protect the queen until some vampires want her so Mangnus gets her onto a balloon and somehow Magnus gets a pet monkey .

“Hello,” Magnus said to the monkey. The monkey did not reply. “I shall call you Ragnor.”

I’ll need you to get a leash for my monkey, Claude, and also a hat.”
“Of course, monsieur”
“Do you think he needs a little coat as well?”
“Perhaps not in this weather, monsieur.”
“You are right,” Magnus said with a sight. “Make it a simple dressing gown, just like mine.”
“Which one, monsieur?”
“The one in rose and silver.”
“Excellent choice, monsieur.”

“There was no way possible [the queen] could have done all of the things the pamphleteers claimed. The crimes were too gross, too immoral and far too physically challenging. Magnus himself had never attempted half of them.”

“If one could look this fabulous, one had an obligation to.”

Book Review: what really happened in Peru Cassandra Clare

What Really Happened in Peru (The Bane Chronicles, #1)What Really Happened in Peru by Cassandra Clare
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

June 27-28

Fans of The Mortal Instruments and The Infernal Devices know that Magnus Bane is banned from Peru—and now they can find out why.

One of ten adventures in The Bane Chronicles.

There are good reasons Peru is off-limits to Magnus Bane. Follow Magnus’s Peruvian escapades as he drags his fellow warlocks Ragnor Fell and Catarina Loss into trouble, learns several instruments (which he plays shockingly), dances (which he does shockingly), and disgraces his host nation by doing something unspeakable to the Nazca Lines.

Review : I loved this short story about Magnus it was a very funny story about how Magnus gets banned from Peru. Magnus meets a man and learns to play an instrument which he’s very bad at playing so bad people throw things at him but then he gets dumped and gets really drunk and meets a woman who steals from the rich it was a fun story.
Quotes :
“Magnus, you were trying to flirt with your own plate.”

“I’m a very open-minded sort of fellow!”

You told us to leave you in the desert, because you planned to start a new life as cactus,” Catarina said, her voice flat. “Then you conjured up tiny needles and threw them at us. With pinpoint accuracy.”

Picture this,” said Magnus. “Me with a little monkey friend. I could teach him tricks. I could dress him in a cunning jacket. He could look just like me! But more monkey-shaped.”

Magnus had a list of favored traits in a partner-black hair, blue eyes, honest…”

Magnus was sure that the llama stampede he witnessed was a coincidence. The llamas could not be judging him

Book Review: The Hate you give Angie Thomas

The Hate U Give (The Hate U Give, #1)The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

June 4-9

Sixteen-year-old Starr Carter moves between two worlds: the poor neighborhood where she lives and the fancy suburban prep school she attends. The uneasy balance between these worlds is shattered when Starr witnesses the fatal shooting of her childhood best friend Khalil at the hands of a police officer. Khalil was unarmed.

Soon afterward, his death is a national headline. Some are calling him a thug, maybe even a drug dealer and a gangbanger. Protesters are taking to the streets in Khalil’s name. Some cops and the local drug lord try to intimidate Starr and her family. What everyone wants to know is: what really went down that night? And the only person alive who can answer that is Starr.

But what Starr does or does not say could upend her community. It could also endanger her life.

Review : This book was very powerful when at a party with her friend she runs into her old friend Khalil and when shots go off he brings her to his car then a cop stops him and ends up shooting Khalil in front of star and she is hurting and doesn’t know what she should do she wants to speak out to help Khalil so she starts to speak she wants that cop to be arested but she knows it won’t happen which is very fucked up I mean he killed him . There is also this big drug dealer who may try to go after star cause she snitched . Star goes to a fancy school and she is a different kind of person she has a boyfriend named Chris and I really love them together and she has two friends Maya and Hailey I hated Hailey she made these remarks and I wanted to punch her and when the news came out with all the Khalil stuff she felt bad for the cop when the cop killed Khalil . And when Hailey said he would of died anyway cause he was a drug dealer I wanted to punch her and star did . When it’s announced that the cop won’t get jail time Star freaks out and wants to take a stand and she does I really loved this book it gave a message that we all need to read this and speak out .
Quotes : “Sometimes you can do everything right and things will still go wrong. The key is to never stop doing right.”

At an early age I learned that people make mistakes, and you have to decide if their mistakes are bigger than your love for them.”

Brave doesn’t mean you’re not scared. It means you go on even though you’re scared.”

Why does Chris always have to be lil’l to you ? I ask . He’s not little . You better be talking about his height says Daddy , Amen , Uncle Carlos adds and they fist bump again.

That’s the problem. We let people say stuff, and they say it so much that it becomes okay to them and normal for us. What’s the point of having a voice if you’re gonna be silent in those moments you shouldn’t be?”

“Once upon a time there was a hazel-eyed boy with dimples. I called him Khalil. The world called him a thug.
He lived, but not nearly long enough, and for the rest of my life I’ll remember how he died.
Fairy tale? No. But I’m not giving up on a better ending.”

“Once you’ve seen how broken someone is it’s like seeing them naked—you can’t look at them the same anymore.”

The Raven King (The Raven Cycle, #4)

The Raven King by Maggie Stiefvater
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Book Review : The Raven king Maggie Stiefvater
April 26- May 21 All her life, Blue has been warned that she will cause her true love’s death. She doesn’t believe in true love and never thought this would be a problem, but as her life becomes caught up in the strange and sinister world of the Raven Boys, she’s not so sure anymore. Review : The final book in the raven cycle I loved it one of my favorite Series . Gansey knows he’s going to die . Cabeswater is having problems Noah almost killed Blue . The Character Henry I didn’t like him at first but he grew on me he’s an odd character . Blue and Gansey at the toga party was funny . Gansey tells Adam and Ronan about him and Blue I’m glad he did so they can be open with each other . Ronan’s dream person came out Orphan girl . OH my god Ronan kissed Adam I’m so freaking happy for them and Adam kissed him back ahhhhhhh . They found Gledower and he’s just dead that was disapointing there is this demon they have to get rid of . Gansey goes to the place where he dies and Blue kisses him and he dies but Cabeswater brings him back . Noah finally moves on I cried I loved this book I cried I laughed this series is one of my favorites I loved the characters and the storyline .

Quotes:
“His feelings for Adam were an oil spill; he’d let them overflow and now there wasn’t a damn place in the ocean that wouldn’t catch fire if he dropped a match.”

When Adam kissed him, it was every mile per hour Ronan had ever gone over the speed limit. It was every window-down, goose-bumps-on-skin, teeth-chattering-cold night drive. It was Adam’s ribs under Ronan’s hands and Adam’s mouth on his mouth, again and again and again. It was stubble on his lips and Ronan having to stop, to get his breath, to restart his heart. They were both hungry animals, but Adam had been starving for far longer.”

No homework. I got suspended,” Blue replied.
“Get the fuck out,” Ronan said, but with admiration. “Sargent, you asshole

You’re asking me to define an abstract concept that no one has managed to explain since time began. You sort of sprang it on me,” Gansey said. “Why do we breathe air? Because we love air? Because we don’t want to suffocate. Why do we eat? Because we don’t want to starve. How do I know I love her? Because I can sleep after I talk to her. Why?”

Trees in your eyes … Stars in your heart.”

“It’ll be OK. I’m ready. Blue, kiss me.”

He wordlessly crossed the floor and sat beside Adam on the mattress. When he held out his hand, Adam put the model into it.“This old thing,” Ronan said. He turned the front tyre, and again the music played out of it. They sat like that for a few minutes, as Ronan examined the car and turned each wheel to play a different tune. Adam watched how intently Ronan studied the seams, his eyelashes low over his light eyes. Ronan let out a breath, put the model down on the bed beside him, and kissed Adam.Once, when Adam had still lived in the trailer park, he had been pushing the lawn mower around the scraggly side yard when he realized that it was raining a mile away. He could smell it, the earthy scent of rain on dirt, but also the electric, restless smell of ozone. And he could see it: a hazy gray sheet of water blocking his view of the mountains. He could track the line of rain travelling across the vast dry field towards him. It was heavy and dark, and he knew he would get drenched if he stayed outside. It was coming from so far away that he had plenty of time to put the mower away and get under cover. Instead, though, he just stood there and watched it approach. Even at the last minute, as he heard the rain pounding the grass flat, he just stood there. He closed his eyes and let the storm soak him. That was this kiss. They kissed again. Adam felt it in more than his lips.Ronan sat back, his eyes closed, swallowing. Adam watched his chest rise and fall, his eyebrows furrow. He felt as bright and dreamy and imaginary as the light through the window. He did not understand anything. It was a long moment before Ronan opened his eyes, and when he did, his expression was complicated. He stood up. He was still looking at Adam, and Adam was looking back, but neither said anything. Probably Ronan wanted something from him, but Adam didn’t know what to say. He was a magician, Persephone had said, and his magic was making connections between disparate things. Only now he was too full of white, fuzzy light to make any sort of logical connections. He knew that of all the options in the world, Ronan Lynch was the most difficult version of any of them. He knew that Ronan was not a thing to be experimented with. He knew his mouth still felt warm. He knew he had started his entire time at Aglionby certain that all he wanted to do was get as far away from this state and everything in it as possible.
He was pretty sure he had just been Ronan’s first kiss.”

The trick with found things, though, is how easily they can be lost.

Certainties can unravel.

Review : I loved this book and this series gets better with each book I loved the new information we got with this . In this we got new characters some good and some can just go far far away the gray man’s boss and his wife are fucking crazy people . They found a woman in the cursed cave glendower’s daughter and she’s a little nuts . Blue’s mom is still missing she has feelings for Gansey but if she kisses him he will die I just want all these characters to be happy . Ronan tells Adam that He dreamed of Mathew so Mathew is like his mother I was so shocked Mathew is so adorable though . Gansey doctor friend Malory came to town to check out the ley line and help a little . The new character Jesse who Blue remembers being on the death list he has a curse on his family . Greenmantle and Piper are fucking nuts I didn’t like them I just wanted them to go far away . Persephone is helping adam you can tell a lot in this book Ronan has a thing for Adam the way he looked at Adam and I love it and Ronan supports Adam with the trial with Adam’s asshole father . Adam and Ronan Set Greenmantle up for a crime so he can leave town Piper takes the Gray man hostage . Persephone dies and I cried which I didn’t think I would I still don’t know how she died Blue finds her mother and her FATHER oh my god this book was awesome I can’t wait to find out what happens in the last book I love this series .

Quotes: You can be just friends with people, you know,” Orla said. “I think it’s crazy how you’re in love with all those raven boys.”

Orla wasn’t wrong, of course. But what she didn’t realize about Blue and her boys was that they were all in love with one another. She was no less obsessed with them than they were with her, or one another, analyzing every conversation and gesture, drawing out every joke into a longer and longer running gag, spending each moment either with one another or thinking about when next they would be with one another. Blue was perfectly aware that it was possible to have a friendship that wasn’t all-encompassing, that wasn’t blinding, deafening, maddening, quickening. It was just that now that she’d had this kind, she didn’t want the other.”

I know when I’m awake and when I’m asleep,” Ronan Lynch said.
Adam Parrish, curled over himself in a pair of battered, greasy coveralls, asked, “Do you?”
“Maybe I dreamt you,” he said.
“Thanks for the straight teeth, then,” Adam replied.”

“Blue,” he warned, but his voice was chaotic. This close, his throat was scented with mint and wool sweater and vinyl car seat, and Gansey, just Gansey.

She said, “I just want to pretend. I want to pretend that I could.”

“As they moved through the old barn, Adam felt Ronan’s eyes glance off him and away, his disinterest practiced but incomplete. Adam wondered if anyone else noticed. Part of him wished they did and immediately felt bad, because it was vanity, really:

See, Adam Parrish is wantable, worthy of a crush, not just by anyone, someone like Ronan, who could want Gansey or anyone else and chose Adam for his hungry eyes.”

“I’m dead,” Noah replied, “not stupid.”

Behind him, he heard Ronan say, “I like the way you losers thought Instagram before first aid. Fuck off.”

Blue got herself back together and then turned on the radio.

Adam hadn’t even realized the ancient tape deck worked, but after a hissing few seconds, a tape inside jangled a tune. Noah began to sing along at once.

‘Squash one, squash two-‘

Adam pawed for the radio at the same time as Blue. The tape ejected with enough force that Noah stretched a hand to catch it.

‘That song. What are you doing with that in your player?’ Demanded Blue. ‘Do you listen to that recreationally? How did that song escape from the Internet?’

Noah cackled and showed them the cassette. It boasted a handmade label marked with Ronan’s handwriting: PARRISH’S HONDAYOTA ALONE TIME. The other side was A SHITBOX SINGALONG.

‘Play it! Play it!’ Noah said gaily, waving the tape.

‘Noah. Noah! Take that away from him,’ Adam said.

Let’s leave her,” Ronan said. Gansey replied, “If we abandoned people in caves because they were crazy, you’d still be back in Cabeswater.

“Let me introduce you. These are my friends: Ronan, Adam Parrish, and Jane.”
Adam’s expression focused. Became Adam-like. He blinked over to Gansey.
“Blue,” Blue corrected.
“Oh, yes, you are blue,” Malory agreed. “How perceptive you are. What was the name? Jane? This is the lady I spoke to on the phone all those months ago, right? How small she is. Are you done growing?”
“What!” Blue said

Lara Jean keeps her love letters in a hatbox her mother gave her. They aren’t love letters that anyone else wrote for her, these are ones she’s written. One for every boy she’s ever loved—five in all. When she writes, she can pour out her heart and soul and say all the things she would never say in real life, because her letters are for her eyes only. Until the day her secret letters are mailed, and suddenly Lara Jean’s love life goes from imaginary to out of control.Review : When Lara Jean falls for a guy and is done being in love with them she use to write them letters not to send but a kinda peace of mind . Lara Jean’s older sister is going to college and she ends up breaking up with her boyfriend Josh who Lara Jean use to like . Then one day her former friend / crush Peter comes up to her and asks about the letter and it turns out the letters got out even the one to Josh she ends up telling Josh that Peter is her boyfriend and then they beginning fake dating until Lara Jean develops real feelings for Peter and Josh ends up kissing her and her sister is back and she finds out about Josh kissing Lara Jean this book was so cute I love Peter and Lara Jean at a ski trip Peter and Lara Jean end up kissing in a hot tub and it gets spread around and Lara Jean is mad at the end of the year she ends up writing peter a letter this book was cute and funny and I’m loving the second book .
“Love is scary: it changes; it can go away. That’s the part of the risk. I don’t want to be scared anymore.”

“It’s not like in the movies. It’s better, because it’s real.”

“I’ve never gotten a love letter before. But reading these notes like this, one after the other, it feels like I have. It’s like . . . it’s like there’s only ever been Peter. Like everyone else that came before him, they were all to prepare me for this. I think I see the difference now, between loving someone from afar and loving someone up close. When you see them up close, you see the real them, but they also get to see the real you. And Peter does. He sees me, and I see him.”

It was at that exact moment that I saw Peter walking down the hall toward me. He looked so good. He deserved his own background music.”

“If you make Josh’s dumb white- chocolate cranberry cookies and not my fruitcake ones, it’s over.”

When Griffin’s first love and ex-boyfriend, Theo, dies in a drowning accident, his universe implodes. Even though Theo had moved to California for college and started seeing Jackson, Griffin never doubted Theo would come back to him when the time was right. But now, the future he’s been imagining for himself has gone far off course.

To make things worse, the only person who truly understands his heartache is Jackson. But no matter how much they open up to each other, Griffin’s downward spiral continues. He’s losing himself in his obsessive compulsions and destructive choices, and the secrets he’s been keeping are tearing him apart.

If Griffin is ever to rebuild his future, he must first confront his history, every last heartbreaking piece in the puzzle of his life.

Review : I loved this book it made me cry I loved these characters . Giffin’s ex boyfriend died and he’s having trouble dealing with it I loved how it was talked in the past and present.Griffin starts chatting with Jackson there’s boyfriend Griffin never liked Jackson cause he was still in love with Theo but he broke up with Theo cause he wanted Theo to enjoy college and then Theo meets Jackson and he loves them both which is kinda fucked up cause Theo was mostly stringing Griffin along . Griffin ends of going to california with Jackson and they end up sleeping together . Jackson tells Griffin he didnt save Theo and he went for a lifeguard and Griffin gets mad and leaves . Griffin decides to talk to wade who was theo’s best friend and his friend who he ended up sleeping with multiple times they decided to just be friends . Jackson visits again and him and Griffin talk Wade is very jealous . I feel like wade and Griffin will get together but griffin had to let Theo go I loved this book very emotional .
Quotes:
Time doesn’t heal all wounds. We both know that’s bullshit; it comes from people who have nothing comforting or original to say.”

People are complicated puzzles, always trying to piece together a complete picture, but sometimes we get it wrong and sometimes we’re left unfinished. Sometimes that’s for the best. Some pieces can’t be forced into a puzzle, or at least they shouldn’t be, because they won’t make sense.”

“History is nothing. It can be recycled or thrown away completely. It isn’t this sacred treasure chest I mistook it to be. We were something, but history isn’t enough to keep something alive forever.”

Griffin . Hey
No way
I freeze at the sound of my dad’s voice He’s right behind us.
I honestly think Id rather be caught masterbating .
wade laughs a little to himself probably. because this is going to be painfully humiliating .

I’ll never understand how time can make a moment feel as close as yesterday and as far as years.”

“But hey, if there’s one bright side to your dying, it’s that you aren’t around to tell me things I don’t like hearing. I’m sorry. That was a dickhead thing to say. I need a condom for my mouth.
