Book review : Empire of storms Sarah j . Maas

Empire of Storms (Throne of Glass, #5)Empire of Storms by Sarah J. Maas
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

June 1-October 1

The long path to the throne has only just begun for Aelin Galathynius as war looms on the horizon. Loyalties have been broken and bought, friends have been lost and gained, and those who possess magic find themselves at odds with those who don’t.

With her heart sworn to the warrior-prince by her side, and her fealty pledged to the people she is determined to save, Aelin will delve into the depths of her power to protect those she loves. But as monsters emerge from the horrors of the past, and dark forces become poised to claim her world, the only chance for salvation will lie in a desperate quest that may mark the end of everything Aelin holds dear.

In this breathtaking fifth installment of the New York Times bestselling Throne of Glass series, Aelin will have to choose what—and who—to sacrifice if she’s to keep the world of Erilea from breaking apart.

Review:Review : Another great book in this series I loved this one it was action packed and so crazy till the very  end . Aelin and her court are looking for ways to stop erawan . I loved the different POV in this book.  I loved the slow burn with Aedion and lysandra  . And of course I love Rowan and Aelin that scene on the beach wow . And mannon and Dorian also wow . Mannon saved Dorian again and put her 13 at risk and we find out that mannon is queen of the crockans.  Some familiar faces from assassins blade books Rolphe and  Ansel  . Ansel got word from aelin  and we find out she tried to get her out of endovier. The eye of ellena we find out is a portal to the past and Mannon and aelin need to use it . I also loved Lorcan and Elide they were and interesting together as they traveled and they found aelin  . The two other men  Gavriel and fenrys were sent to kill Lorcan . Gavriel finally meets his son Aedian and well Aedian is pissed as he has a right to be . Maeve shows up
Elena tells Aelin the plan and what she needs to do she is sent right to Maeve . Maeve took Elide . Maeve takes Aelin . We find our Rowan and Aelin are mates. Aelin slipped Mannon the two keys . Rowan shows up looking for Aelin they got married . Lysandra plans to shift into Aelin to pretend to be her cause no one can know she’s been taken . Rowan plans on finding Aelin . I loved this book

Quotes : “It is not such a hard thing, is it – to die for your friends.”

You will find, Rolfe, that one does not deal with Celaena Sardothien. One survives her”

Aelin Galathynius had raised an army not just to challenge Morath, but to rattle the stars.”

Where is Aelin.
Where is my wife?”

And tell Rowan,” Aelin said, fighting her own sob, “that I’m sorry I lied. But tell him it was all borrowed time anyway. Even before today, I knew it was all just borrowed time, but I still wish we’d had more of it.” She fought past her trembling mouth. “Tell him he has to fight. He must save Terrasen, and remember the vows he made to me. And tell him . . . tell him thank you—for walking that dark path with me back to the light.”

“I’ll make one more promise,” she said, folding her bloodied hand into a fist as she lowered it before them. Darrow tensed.
Her blood dripped onto the sacred soil of Terrasen, and her smile turned lethal. Even Aedion held his breath beside her.
Aelin said, “I promise you that no matter how far I go, no matter the cost, when you call for my aid, I will come. I promise you on my blood, on my family’s name, that I will not turn my back on Terrasen as you have turned your back on me. I promise you, Darrow, that when the day comes and you crawl for my help, I will put my kingdom before my pride and not kill you for this. I think the true punishment will be seeing me on the throne for the rest of your miserable life.”

I am going to find the Crochans. And I am going to raise an army with them. For Aelin Galathynius. And her people. And for ours

Book Review: Glass sword Victoria aveyard

Glass Sword (Red Queen, #2)

Glass Sword by Victoria Aveyard

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

September 2-22

If there’s one thing Mare Barrow knows, it’s that she’s different.

Mare’s blood is red – the colour of common folk – but her Silver ability, the power to control lightning, has turned her into a weapon that the royal court tries to control.

The crown calls her an impossibility, a fake, but as she makes her escape from the prince and friend who betrayed her, Mare uncovers something startling: she is not the only one of her kind.

Pursued by the Silver king, Mare sets out to find and recruit other Red and Silver fighters to join in the struggle against her oppressors.

But Mare finds herself on a deadly path, at risk of becoming exactly the kind of monster she is trying to defeat. Will she shatter under the weight of the lives that are the cost of rebellion? Or have treachery and betrayal hardened her forever?

Review : The sequel was crazy so much happened and I couldn’t stop reading. Mare has decided to build an army with newbloods but first she has to find them before maven does. But before their on the island with this colonel who is Farley father . Shade is alive he has powers like Mare he calls it jumping .The colonel traps cal and then Mare but they escape and they are gonna find these newbloods. I was kinda annoyed with Mare at some parts in this book cause she was mad at Cal for not wanting to kill all silvers there are good silvers Juilian and Sara who are still prisoners. And there are bad reds also there isn’t one is better than another . But it was cool to see the different ability the different newbloods had . They are plan to go to the palace and break the newbloods out but Shade dies and it’s so sad cause I liked him with Farley. They get Julian and Sara the queen is dead . They go back to the island. But Mare has to the choke but they run into maven and she bargains herself to him .
Quotes :
No one is born evil, just like no one is born alone. They become that way, through choice and circumstance.”

“If I am a sword, I am a sword made of glass, and I feel myself beginning to shatter.”

Anyone, anything, can betray anyone. Even your own heart.”

Book Review: Punk 57 Penelope douglas

Punk 57

Punk 57 by Penelope Douglas

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

September 8-9

We were perfect together. Until we met.”

Misha

I can’t help but smile at the words in her letter. She misses me.

In fifth grade, my teacher set us up with pen pals from a different school. Thinking I was a girl, with a name like Misha, the other teacher paired me up with her student, Ryen. My teacher, believing Ryen was a boy like me, agreed.

It didn’t take long for us to figure out the mistake. And in no time at all, we were arguing about everything. The best take-out pizza. Android vs. iPhone. Whether or not Eminem is the greatest rapper ever…

And that was the start. For the next seven years, it was us.

Her letters are always on black paper with silver writing. Sometimes there’s one a week or three in a day, but I need them. She’s the only one who keeps me on track, talks me down, and accepts everything I am.

We only had three rules. No social media, no phone numbers, no pictures. We had a good thing going. Why ruin it?

Until I run across a photo of a girl online. Name’s Ryen, loves Gallo’s pizza, and worships her iPhone. What are the chances?

F*ck it. I need to meet her.

I just don’t expect to hate what I find.

Ryen

He hasn’t written in three months. Something’s wrong. Did he die? Get arrested? Knowing Misha, neither would be a stretch.

Without him around, I’m going crazy. I need to know someone is listening. It’s my own fault. I should’ve gotten his number or picture or something.

He could be gone forever.

Or right under my nose, and I wouldn’t even know it.

Review : I loved this book it was so good I love Misha and even Ryen . This is about two people who have been pen pals since 5th grade. But then one day they meet at this scavenger event his band . Then he stops writing cause his sister died of a heart attack and he was angry so he enrolled in Ryen school under a fake name cause he had a mission . Ryen has had this shell on her since she was young she’d rather be popular than alone even though she can’t stand her friends . Even Trey who wants to take her to prom. Mason aka Misha and Ryen butt heads and then they end up having sex at a drive in but she still doesn’t know who he is . Ryen is punk the one writing stuff on the walls in the school. Ryen finds out Misha is Mason and is hurt and upset but then she finds out his sister died . But Ryen has one last task as punk to write everything about Trey. We find out Misha real reason for coming to the school to confront his mother aka the vice principal. Trey also gets banned from school grounds cause girls are coming in to report stuff what a creep. It shifts to 5 years later Ryen is pregnant and Misha is making music I loved this book.

I learned a long time ago that you don’t need to reveal everything inside of you to the people around you. They like to judge, and I’m happier when they don’t. Some things stay hidden.

A few months ago, a jogger named Anastasia Grayson, who was only a year younger than us, was found dead on the side of this very road. She had a heart attack,

like girls,” he whispers in my ear, and my heart is pounding so hard it hurts. Then the tip of his tongue glides up my neck, and I’m frozen, breathing a mile a minute as heat races through my blood. Fuck. “But you?” His deep voice and hot breath fall over the skin of my neck. “You kind of taste like shit.”

I miss you every day, I write. You’re my favorite place.

I part my lips, running them over the lip ring and savoring the feel as he groans and digs his fingers into my thighs. I tighten my legs around him, needing to feel him. “Bitch,” he whispers. “Loser.”

Ryen Trevarrow, Queen Good Girl, sneaks into the school at night, breaking more than one law, to anonymously leave messages and air dirty secrets for the student body right under their noses

Members: Dane Lewis—guitars and backing vocals Lotus Maynard—bass Malcolm Weinburg—drums Misha Lare—lead vocals, guitars “Oh, my God.” I crumble, sinking out of my chair and to the floor, sobbing and shaking my head. “Oh, my God,” I cry. I run my fingers through my hair, holding my head and my chest growing heavy. I suck in short, shallow breaths. I can’t breathe. Masen is Misha. “What the fuck?!” I yell.

He’s kind of the black sheep—I’m sure you can tell,” he explains to her, as her eyes skim down my tattooed arms. “We’ll take him back to Thunder Bay, and he will not return to Falcon’s Well. You have our word. We’ll escort the little shit home right now.” I grind my teeth together. Will’s eyes twinkle with laughter.

“I’m the black sheep?” I challenge. “I’m the black sheep? Did I just spend two and a half years in prison? How could she not know who you were? Why don’t you roll up your sleeves and show her your tattoos?” Will adjusts his collar and cuffs, primping himself.

Misha?” Yep. And awesome. She remembers my name. Two points for Mom. Now she knows. Me choosing to come to this school and sit in this office had nothing to do with Trey. It was about her.

Book review: The Chase Elle Kennedy

The Chase (Briar U, #1)

The Chase by Elle Kennedy

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

August 8-September 4th

Everyone says opposites attract. And they must be right, because there’s no logical reason why I’m so drawn to Colin Fitzgerald. I don’t usually go for tattoo-covered, video-gaming, hockey-playing nerd-jocks who think I’m flighty and superficial. His narrow view of me is the first strike against him. It doesn’t help that he’s buddy-buddy with my brother.

And that his best friend has a crush on me.

And that I just moved in with them.

Oh, did I not mention we’re roommates?

I suppose it doesn’t matter. Fitzy has made it clear he’s not interested in me, even though the sparks between us are liable to burn our house down. I’m not the kind of girl who chases after a man, though, and I’m not about to start. I’ve got my hands full dealing with a new school, a sleazy professor, and an uncertain future. So if my sexy brooding roomie wises up and realizes what he’s missing?

He knows where to find me.

Review : I loved this book Fitz and summers story was funny and sexy . Summer likes Fitz a lot and she’s going to be attending briar college and she needs a place to stay after she wasn’t allowed to stay at the sorority house since the innocent that happened at her last school so she ends up rooming with. Fitz, Hunter and Hollis . But this is after new years after her and Hunter kissed on new years cause she overheard Fitz talk to Garrett saying she’s drama and fluff so she got mad . So they have really bad sexual Tension they bicker and anoy each other. Summer makes a new friend Brenna I love her . Her and Hollis were my favorite side characters. So summer has Adhd and has trouble focusing and she’s worried about her classes. Her professor is a big creep though he winks and flirts with her so icky. Summer and Fitz kissing sumer get it was the kiss. Fitz got an interview with this video game billionaire whose kinda a douche. Summer got in a bar fight protesting Brenna and Fitz got marathon her cause he was worried. Sometimes Fitz kinda annoyed me he was very judgmental of summerbut didn’t want her going out with Hunter. She goes out with Hunter but it wasn’t going anywhere cause she was thinking about Fitz. She got home and slept with Fitz. Fitz invites her to this gala for this interview with the billionaire douche and he totally insults them both.then summer breaks up with Fitz cause she thinks it’s her fault he didn’t get the job then he tells her he loves her.then Dean walks in on them having sex and he punches Fitz in the balls. The creep professor tries to kiss summer what a creep and then humiliates her in class by saying this paper is what A bad paper is what a dick. Then he pushes her fashion show cause he knew her models would be late . Fitz gets some of his teammates to model instead himself included. Summer walks in on Norah and the professor the girl obviously said no and he would of raped her they go to the dean to report it . Loved this story can’t wait to read the rest.

Quotes :

We live in a society where too many women tear each other down instead of raising each other up. That’s absurd to me. We need to empower one another, teach future generations of girls that it’s important to stand together. Once upon a time, we had a common goal and a common enemy. We were burning bras, and fighting for the right to vote.
Now we’re body shaming each other on social media and blaming the mistress if our man cheats.”

I want a man with clear intentions. A man who makes an effort and is excited to spend time with me. A man who actually wants to want me. If he has to fight himself to be with me, then chances are he’d never fight for me if it came down to it.
What woman would ever choose somebody like that?”

You’re not allowed to get pregnant until you’re at least thirty. I’m not ready to be an uncle.”
“Oh my God. Life isn’t always about you!” They stand there bickering as if I’m not bent in half on the marble floor, gasping for air.
“I’m not having kids with you,” I wheeze at Summer. “I don’t want to be part of your insane family.”
“Oh hush, sweetie. It’s too late. I’ve become attached.”

I feel like too many girls fail to remember one vital truth: we deserve someone who gives us one hundred percent. Half-assed effort isn’t effort. Half-assed love isn’t love. If a man isn’t all in, then we need to be all out.”

Dean,” Summer begs, burying her face against my chest. “Turn around. Please.” “Oh my fucking God. Are you having sex?” he thunders. “Right here?!” “Dean! Turn around!”

Book review : Pitcher Kristy Marie

Pitcher (Commander in Briefs #0.5)Pitcher by Kristy Marie
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

March 18-July 29

Kristy Marie brings you a hilarious novella about the problem with loving your best friend.

No one needs that many hookups!

Not even soon to be major league pitcher, Theo Von Bremen.

So, I help him by routinely thinning out his contact list—because I’m the best roommate ever. And he’s optimal baby daddy material.

For me—not Amanda 1, 2, or 3.

But since the man can’t take a hint; I’ll continue to spray his sheets with my perfume and accidentally leave my panties in his laundry.

That has to be enough to break a man eventually. Right?

Review : I enjoyed this story it was funny and cute . This is about Theo and Aniston they have been friends since teenagers . But when Aniston grandparents die Theo and Aniston decide to move in together for college. Theo makes sure guys stay away from Aniston even his twin . When things get hot one night will they move to more than more than friends but Theo is moving to do more with his baseball. And then Aniston asks Theo to take her virginity .

Quotes : “You’re stuck with me for the next four years, McCallister. No take backs.” Slow, almost purposely, as if she needs a minute before she faces me, Anniston turns in my arms. Her eyes shine brightly in the sun before a quivering smile tugs at the corner of her mouth. “No take backs,” she agrees and swallows hard. No take backs. She just signed a deal with the Devil. Anniston McCallister is mine. All. Mine.

I’ve always had a bff, and he has a dick. A big one. And because of said dick size and rumors of said dick size, I’m considered a threat.

Fine. Go get ’em, T-Dog.” His face is one of horror. “I take it back. Teddy is fine.”

Yeah, bro,” Thad adds, like he wants me to push him down the stairs. “Stay here and rest. I’ll look after Ans tonight.” Mom will miss him, but she’ll eventually move on, right? Ugh.

The denim slides down his muscular thighs with such perfection that if he ever threw out his arm, he could easily have a job at a strip club. Women would pay a fortune to have him pop out of a cake or some shit and shake those narrow hips while killing the Happy Birthday song with his horrible singing.

The other part of me takes offense he might think I can’t play poker without Theo. Who do you think taught Theo? Dudes, I swear. When will they ever learn women are better at most things than they are? It’s science.

“Theo,” I say, pausing the game. He turns, catching my gaze. “Hmm?” You can do this, Anniston. Just tell him. “I’m a virgin.” There. See? Nothing to it. Except, Theo makes a strangled sound. “Okay,” he drawls, his face looking pink tinged. “Why are you telling me this?” That is the question, isn’t it? “Because I want you to take my virginity.”

Book review : A thousand boy kisses Tillie Cole

A Thousand Boy KissesA Thousand Boy Kisses by Tillie Cole
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

June 11-July 28

One kiss lasts a moment.
But a thousand kisses can last a lifetime.

One boy.
One girl.
A bond that is forged in an instant and cherished for a decade.
A bond that neither time nor distance can break.
A bond that will last forever.
Or so they believe.

When seventeen-year-old Rune Kristiansen returns from his native Norway to the sleepy town of Blossom Grove, Georgia, where he befriended Poppy Litchfield as a child, he has just one thing on his mind. Why did the girl who was one half of his soul, who promised to wait faithfully for his return, cut him off without a word of explanation?

Rune’s heart was broken two years ago when Poppy fell silent. When he discovers the truth, he finds that the greatest heartache is yet to come.

Book review: This book broke me it was beautiful this love story was so sweet . This is about poppy and Rune .poppy and Rune meet as kids when Rune moves next door and as time goes on they begin to fall in love poppy made a promise to her grandmother to have 1,000 boy kisses and Rune has helped with that . They love each other so deeply. But Rune has to move back to Oslo and then him and poppy don’t talk for awhile until he moves back . You see poppy is dying but Rune is determined to make her time special. And he does he takes her to NYC . She becomes weaker and has days left they see the cherry blossoms and get to go to prom . She says goodbye and passes away. Rune got accepted into college in a photography program. The epiloge was sweet it was explained that Rune passed on and was to stay with poppy .

Quotes : When you find the boy that will be your forever always, every time you get an extra-special kiss from him, take out a heart. Write down where you were when you were kissed. Then when you’re a mamaw too, your grandbaby—your best buddy—can hear all about them, just like I’ve told you all about mine.

It was the third moment that defined my life. The night I found out I would lose the girl I loved. Knowing our moments together were numbered, I held on to her tighter, refusing to let go. She fell asleep doing exactly the same… …a powerful echo of who we used to be.

A reminder that we were Poppy and Rune. Somewhere under all the hurt and pain, under all the new layers we’d acquired, we were still here. In love. Two halves of one heart. And I didn’t care what anyone said about it.

I now realized why I had loved her so hard from being so young—so I had this time with her. Poppy believed her spirit always knew she’d die young. I was starting to

Why? Why do I have to lose you?” He shook his head and his face contorted in pain. “Because I can’t, Poppymin. I can’t watch you leave. I can’t bear the thought of not having you like this for the rest of our lives.”

I’ll see you in your dreams.” Trying to hold back my emotions, I rasped back, “I’ll see you in my dreams.” Poppy sighed, a peaceful smile gracing her face. Then Poppy closed her eyes, tilting her chin up for her final kiss, her hand squeezing mine.

Being loved by you was the biggest accomplishment of my life. I didn’t have long and I had nowhere near enough time to be with you how I wanted. But in those years, in my final months, I knew what real love was.

No mourners. No funerals. Among them, it passed for ‘good luck.”

It’s not natural for women to fight.”
“It’s not natural for someone to be as stupid as he is tall, and yet there you stand.”

Jesper knocked his head against the hull and cast his eyes heavenward. “Fine. But if Pekka Rollins kills us all, I’m going to get Wylan’s ghost to teach my ghost how to play the flute just so that I can annoy the hell out of your ghost.”
Brekker’s lips quirked. “I’ll just hire Matthias’ ghost to kick your ghost’s ass.”
“My ghost won’t associate with your ghost,” Matthias said primly, and then wondered if the sea air was rotting his brain.”

Stay,” she panted. Tears leaked from her eyes. “Stay till the end.”
“And after,” he said. “And always.”
“I want to feel safe again. I want to go home to Ravka.”
“Then I’ll take you there. We’ll set fire to raisins or whatever you heathens do for fun.”
“Zealot,” she said weakly.
“Witch.”
“Barbarian.”
“Nina,” he whispered, “little red bird. Don’t go.”

Oh, I see. I’m the wicked Grisha seductress. I have beguiled you with my Grisha wiles!”
She poked him in the chest.
“Stop that.”
“No. I’m beguiling you.”

Who’d deny a poor cripple his cane?”
“If the cripple is you, then any man with sense.”

“I want you to stay. I want you to … I want you.” “You want me.” She turned the words over. Gently, she squeezed his hand. “And how will you have me, Kaz?” He looked at her then, eyes fierce, mouth set. It was the face he wore when he was fighting. “How will you have me?” she repeated. “Fully clothed, gloves on, your head turned away so our lips can never touch?”

Book Review: From blood and ash Jennifer L. Armentrout

From Blood and Ash (Blood And Ash, #1)

From Blood and Ash by Jennifer L. Armentrout

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

March 11-May 18

A Maiden

Chosen from birth to usher in a new era, Poppy’s life has never been her own. The life of the Maiden is solitary. Never to be touched. Never to be looked upon. Never to be spoken to. Never to experience pleasure. Waiting for the day of her Ascension, she would rather be with the guards, fighting back the evil that took her family, than preparing to be found worthy by the gods. But the choice has never been hers.

A Duty

The entire kingdom’s future rests on Poppy’s shoulders, something she’s not even quite sure she wants for herself. Because a Maiden has a heart. And a soul. And longing. And when Hawke, a golden-eyed guard honor bound to ensure her Ascension, enters her life, destiny and duty become tangled with desire and need. He incites her anger, makes her question everything she believes in, and tempts her with the forbidden.

A Kingdom

Forsaken by the gods and feared by mortals, a fallen kingdom is rising once more, determined to take back what they believe is theirs through violence and vengeance. And as the shadow of those cursed draws closer, the line between what is forbidden and what is right becomes blurred. Poppy is not only on the verge of losing her heart and being found unworthy by the gods, but also her life when every blood-soaked thread that holds her world together begins to unravel.

Review : I loved this book it was sexy and intense . Hawke and poppy have so much chemistry.

This is about poppy who is a maiden who is destination is for the gods and for her to ascended but she isn’t to sure she wants to do that . One day she visits the red pearl and she meets Hawke a guard things get kinda hot between them but she is wearing a mask so he doesn’t know who she is . There are these creatures called the craven and she and her guard Victor help them pass peacefully. There is this prince who wants poppy dead he’s called the dark one . There have been more craven attacks and one of poppy guards was killed and she was there to witness it . Hawke ends up being her new guard . The Duke is an asshole who gives poppy lessons what a complete asshole . Poppy and Hawke get more closer and he tells her he knew it was her at the red pearl they end up kissing and then there is this attack that happens and the Duke is dead and Victor gets killed and poppy kills this lord who is asshole . Hawke and more of poppy guard take her to get to the Queen . But things happen along the way poppy and Hawke end up having sex . Poppy discovers Hawke is a vampyr and that he is actually prince Casteel aka the dark one. This book was so good can’t wait to start the second one .

Quotes : Purity? I hated that word, the meaning behind it. As if my virginity determined my goodness, my innocence, and its presence or lack thereof was somehow more important than the hundred choices I made every day.”

“That was very naughty,” Hawke chided, snatching the sword out of my hand as if I hadn’t been holding onto it. “You are so incredibly violent.” He dipped his chin and whispered, “It still turns me on.”

Promise me you won’t forget this, Poppy. That no matter what happens tomorrow, the next day, next week, you won’t forget this, forget that this was real”

With my sword and with my life, I vow to keep you safe, Penellaphe,” he spoke, voice deep and smooth, reminding me of rich, decadent chocolate. “From this moment until the last moment, I am yours.”

You’re an absolutely stunning, murderous little creature.”

Book Review: the house in the Cerulean Sea TJ klune

The House in the Cerulean Sea

The House in the Cerulean Sea by T.J. Klune

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

May 10-17

A magical island. A dangerous task. A burning secret.

Linus Baker leads a quiet, solitary life. At forty, he lives in a tiny house with a devious cat and his old records. As a Case Worker at the Department in Charge Of Magical Youth, he spends his days overseeing the well-being of children in government-sanctioned orphanages.

When Linus is unexpectedly summoned by Extremely Upper Management he’s given a curious and highly classified assignment: travel to Marsyas Island Orphanage, where six dangerous children reside: a gnome, a sprite, a wyvern, an unidentifiable green blob, a were-Pomeranian, and the Antichrist. Linus must set aside his fears and determine whether or not they’re likely to bring about the end of days.

But the children aren’t the only secret the island keeps. Their caretaker is the charming and enigmatic Arthur Parnassus, who will do anything to keep his wards safe. As Arthur and Linus grow closer, long-held secrets are exposed, and Linus must make a choice: destroy a home or watch the world burn.

An enchanting story, masterfully told, The House in the Cerulean Sea is about the profound experience of discovering an unlikely family in an unexpected place—and realizing that family is yours

Review : Linus is a caseworker for magical children and one day he is sent to a special place to check it out see if it’s okay and that the children are okay. Linus meets the kids who are all special in different ways . Arthur who is in Care of the kids . Zoe who owns the island a sprite . I loved this book it was magical and sweet I loved all the kids in this book they have all been through so much prejudice. The people on the land hate the kids and what they are they think they are monsters . On the day they all visit on land there are more people who accept the kids that hate them . We meet Helen who is the mayor . Linus time is almost over . The kids don’t want him to leave and he doesn’t want to either but he has to go back to his job his home least that’s what he tells himself. We find out Arthur is a Phoenix . The people on the land were trying to get to the orphanage they want the children gone what assholes . There needed to be change Linus ends up going back but he quits and steals fials for other magical kids to hopefully help them and he goes back to his real home with the kids and Arthur . Arthur and Linus are going to adopt the kids and to be married so cute .

Quotes : We should always make time for the things we like. If we don’t, we might forget how to be happy.”

Hate is loud, but I think you’ll learn it’s because it’s only a few people shouting, desperate to be heard. You might not ever be able to change their minds, but so long as your remember you’re not alone, you will overcome.”

A home isn’t always the house we live in. It’s also the people we choose to surround ourselves with. You may not live on the island, but you can’t tell me it’s not your home. Your bubble, Mr. Baker. It’s been popped. Why would you allow it to grow around you again?”

When something is broken, you can put it back together. It may not fit quite the same, or work like it did once before, but that doesn’t mean it’s no longer useful.”

People suck, but sometimes, they should just drown in their own suckage without our help.

I’m afraid I don’t have magic.”
“You do, Mr. Baker. Arthur told me

Your voice is a weapon. Never forget that.”

Change often starts with the smallest of whispers. Like-minded people building it up to a roar.”

Zoe choked on a laugh. “Come on. Let’s leave the dumb adults to it. We absolutely will go inside and start dinner and not watch them through the windows.”
“Ooh,” Talia said. “I get it. Yes, let’s go watch—I mean, make dinner.”

Book Review: Roommate Sarina Bowen

Roommate

Roommate by Sarina Bowen

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

March 1-13
Wanted: One roommate to share a 3-bedroom house, split the rent, and ideally not be the guy I can’t stop thinking about.
I’m a man with too many secrets, so the last thing I need is a new roommate with a sexy smile and blue eyes that see right through me. Eight years ago, Roderick left town after high school. We’re not friends. I owe him nothing. But back then, I let one of my secrets slip, and he’s the only one who noticed.
Part of me knows I should run far, far away. But the other part wants him to come upstairs and spend the night. But if I let him in, I could lose everything.

Seeking: A room to rent in town. I’m tidy, have no pets, and I will feed you homemade bread.
I should probably add: Gay AF, and has no filter. It’s no wonder my new landlord is so wary of me.
A smarter man would ignore those hot glances from Kieran Shipley. The broody lumberjack wants more from me than another homemade pretzel, but if I push my luck, I’ll end up back on the street.
Too bad I’ve never been smart with my heart …

Review: This was a really funny and cute romance this is about Roderick and Kireran see when Kireran was in high school Kireran witnessed Roderick giving another guy oral pleasure and he kept going back to watch. Years later Roderick is back in town after a really bad breakup he ends up getting a job at the busy bean but he is still stuck sleeping in his car cause he’s broke. Kireran ends up moving out of his parent’s place he needs his own space and him and his father don’t really get along for reasons. Kieran sees Roderick sleeping in the car and asks him to move in with him . Roderick and him start to get a long and he gives Kireran cooking lessons and then they ended up kissing and then hooking up and it turned to be more but Kireran isn’t ready to come out and his cousin ends up seeing them in bed together. Roderick doesn’t want to go back in the closet so he needs time away . Kireran gets his scholarship to art school . Kieran ends up quitting his job cause his bosses son was a tool and called him a slur . Kireran dad gets in a accident and he’s in the hospital and it comes out that Kieran and his dad aren’t blood related his mom had an affair with a priest and it also comes out that Kieran and Roderick are together. I loved this book had some spice and made me laugh.

Quotes:I’d be a good roommate. Neat freak will make you sourdough waffles once a week on his day off. Gay AF. Quiet because he has no friends.

He bends down, and I absolutely do not check out his ass as he retrieves the chalk off the floor.

This had better be Kieran’s house. Either that, or I’m about to be arrested for trespassing. And I don’t have bail money.” I hear what may possibly be a distant snort of laughter

Still, I can’t stop wondering how good it would feel to be grabbed up in those strong arms and hugged. Or, say, pinned to the bed while he fucks me. I’m not picky.

How did you, uh, know.” He clears his throat, and his eyes are tentative. “Know?” I feel so swimmy and bright that it takes a moment to understand what he’s asking. “Oh, that I’m queer as fuck? I always knew. Sorry.” I can hear myself babbling. “But everybody’s different. I know some dudes who were thirty-five and married before they figured out how much they like cock.”

No fucking way. I can’t use an app. Shit. I can’t even make barista conversation with strangers. People chat on that app, right? And if I actually saw someone interesting on there, they’d want to talk.” He shudders. I burst out laughing. “Oh the horrors! So you aren’t afraid to suck a dick, but the small talk might kill you?” “Maybe,” he grumbles

Let’s eat pulled pork. I’m drunk, and if we stand here any longer I’m just going to stare at you while I picture you naked.” His laughter sounds uncomfortable. “All right. Dinner

“I have a Christmas present for you to unwrap.” “Is it in your pants?” He nudges his ass against my crotch, and my body does not fail to take the hint. “I love opening presents,” he teases. “No, it’s under the tree.”

“I can’t believe the first guy you’ve ever dated happens to be named Rod,” Griffin says. “I suppose it could be worse. Dicky, maybe. Or Hammer.”

Book Review: The lost hero Rick Riordan

The Lost Hero (The Heroes of Olympus, #1)

The Lost Hero by Rick Riordan

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

October 25-December 31

Jason has a problem. He doesn’t remember anything before waking up on a school bus holding hands with a girl. Apparently she’s his girlfriend Piper, his best friend is a kid named Leo, and they’re all students in the Wilderness School, a boarding school for “bad kids.” What he did to end up here, Jason has no idea-except that everything seems very wrong.

Piper has a secret. Her father has been missing for three days, and her vivid nightmares reveal that he’s in terrible danger. Now her boyfriend doesn’t recognize her, and when a freak storm and strange creatures attack during a school field trip, she, Jason, and Leo are whisked away to someplace called Camp Half-Blood. What is going on?

Leo has a way with tools. His new cabin at Camp Half-Blood is filled with them. Seriously, the place beats Wilderness School hands down, with its weapons training, monsters, and fine-looking girls. What’s troubling is the curse everyone keeps talking about, and that a camper’s gone missing. Weirdest of all, his bunkmates insist they are all-including Leo-related to a god.

Rick Riordan, the best-selling author of the Percy Jackson series, pumps up the action and suspense in The Lost Hero, the first book in The Heroes of Olympus series. Fans of demi-gods, prophesies, and quests will be left breathless–and panting for Book Two.

Review : I really enjoyed the first book of the spin off of percy Jackson. First we meet Jason who has no memory and ends up on a bus where he meets Piper and Leo. Piper is supposed to be his girlfriend but he doesn’t remember her . Then things start happening they get attacked by venti. Jason only know the Roman version of Greek gods . Annabeth shows up with butch Percy is missing . Jason is the son of Zeus he notices a picture in his cabin its Thalia and thats his sister. Leo is son of Hephaestus and Piper is daughter of Aphrodite. Annabeth explains to piper that the mist made her believe Jason and her were together. Piper has a secret her dad was kidnapped by a giant and she has to decive her friends to get him back alive . Leo is trying to get over his past his mother being killed and he is a fire user which is very rare . They go on a quest to save hera Leo fixes this dragon . I enjoyed this book I loved Leo the most he had a rough childhood but still remained happy and cared about his friends . They have issues along the way lots of fights and monsters . They find coach hedge he was a crazy character and very enjoyable to read about . Jason finds his sister after they were almost attacked by wolves . Thalia thought Jason was dead cause thats what their mother told her . See Jason is the Roman son of Zeus and Thalia is the Greek version which is very rare . They save Piper dad and she gives him this potion that her mom gave her to have his recent memories erased. I enjoyed the Roman and Greek aspects of this book . See Jason apparently is from the Roman camp which the Greek camp don’t even know about . After saving hera they are back at camp Jason tells Annabeth that Percy is at the Roman camp and he doesn’t have his memories I can’t wait to read the next one.

Quote :

Jason scratched his head. “You named him Festus? You know that in Latin, ‘festus’ means ‘happy’? You want us to ride off to save the world on Happy the Dragon?”

Leo: Rainbows. Very macho.
Annabeth: Butch is our best equestrian, he gets along great with the pegasi.
Leo: Rainbows, ponies…
Butch: I’m gonna toss you off this chariot.”

I have lightning and wind powers,” Jason reminded him. “Piper can turn beautiful and charm people into giving her BMWs. You’re no more a freak than we are. And, hey, maybe you can fly, too. Like jump off a building and yell ‘Flame on!'”
Leo snorted. “If I did that, you would see a flaming kid falling to his death, and I would be yelling something a little stronger than ‘Flame on!”

Gaea?” Leo shook his head. “Isn’t that Mother Nature? She’s supposed to have, like, flowers in her hair and birds singing around her and dear and rabbits doing her laundry.”
“Leo, that’s Snow White,” Piper said.”

I’m the son of Jupiter, I’m a child of Rome, consul to demigods, praetor of the First Legion. I slew the Trojan sea monster, I toppled the black throne of Kronos, and destroyed Titan Krios with my own hand. And now I’m going to destroy you Porphyrion, and feed you to your own wolves.”
“Wow, dude,” Leo muttered, “You been eating red meat?”

Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Dec 7-14

First Son Alex Claremont-Diaz is the closest thing to a prince this side of the Atlantic. With his intrepid sister and the Veep’s genius granddaughter, they’re the White House Trio, a beautiful millennial marketing strategy for his mother, President Ellen Claremont. International socialite duties do have downsides—namely, when photos of a confrontation with his longtime nemesis Prince Henry at a royal wedding leak to the tabloids and threaten American/British relations. The plan for damage control: staging a fake friendship between the First Son and the Prince.

As President Claremont kicks off her reelection bid, Alex finds himself hurtling into a secret relationship with Henry that could derail the campaign and upend two nations. What is worth the sacrifice? How do you do all the good you can do? And, most importantly, how will history remember you

Review : I absolutely loved this book I love all the characters but I love Alex and Henry. Alex is the first son of a woman president and they are going to a royal wedding and Alex kinda hates the prince Henry but he gets drunk and they end up falling on a very expensive cake so to do damage control they have to pretend to be best friends . But it starts not being pretend and they start to actually be friends . Then he’ll breaks loose Alex and Henry emails leak the man Richards going against Alex mom caused a sex scandle to happen so he could win but it didn’t work his mom won again .

Quotes : Thinking about history makes me wonder how I’ll fit into it one day, I guess. And you too. I kinda wish people still wrote like that. History, huh? Bet we could make some.”

Should I tell you that when we’re apart, your body comes back to me in dreams? That when I sleep, I see you, the dip of your waist, the freckle above your hip, and when I wake up in the morning, it feels like I’ve just been with you, the phantom touch of your hand on the back of my neck fresh and not imagined? That I can feel your skin against mine, and it makes every bone in my body ache? That, for a few moments, I can hold my breath and be back there with you, in a dream, in a thousand rooms, nowhere at all?”

Alex snatches a shirt and boxers at random from the floor, shoves them at Henry’s chest, and points him towards the closet. “Get in there.”

“Quite,” he observes.

“Yes, we can unpack the ironic symbolism later. GO.”

“I am the First Son of the United States, and I’m bisexual. History will remember us.”

Oh my God, I thought you were getting into international relations or something.”
“I mean, technically—”
“If you finish that sentence, I’m gonna spend tonight in jail.”

I don’t know who YOU think you’re kidding you Hufflepuff-ass bitch”

Hi,” he says, when he reaches Henry’s eye level. “Hello,” Henry says back. “I’m gonna take your pants off now,” Alex tells him. “Yes, good, carry on.”
